APC rejects Saraki, Dogara's emergence as Senate President and Speaker House of Reps

The Leadership of the APC has released a statement rejecting the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki and Hon Yakubu Dogara as Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives. The statement in part reads
"Senator Bukola and Hon. Dogara are not the candidates of the APC and a majority of its National Assembly members-elect for the positions of Senate President and House Speaker. The party duly met and conducted a straw poll and clear candidates emerged for the posts of Senate President, Deputy Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, supported by a majority of all Senators-elect and members-elect of the House of Representatives.
All National Assembly members-elect who emerged on the platform of the party are bound by that decision. The party is supreme and its interest is superior to that of its individual members. Consequently, the APC leadership is meeting in a bid to reestablish discipline in the party and to mete out the necessary sanctions to all those involved in what is nothing but a monumental act of indiscipline and betrayal to subject the party to ridicule and create obstacles for the new administration. There can be no higher level of treachery, disloyalty and insincerity within any party"the statement read

  1. In the APC dictionary, democracy doesn't exist. If it doesn't favor them, then it's not right.
And to think these are the people who parade themselves as change agents. Smh

They hav to b voting duely conducted on d floors of d house, and anyone dat emerge becomes d leader.

So, wht APC r saying is complet, and total rubbish, and nonsense. We stand against dis, and we wil never sell our right.

    8. Thank u Roc I, don't mind those PDP party criminals they want to take power by force, just look @ what they are doing deputy senate is Eke Ekweremadu, Saraki the new APC member is the senate president, David Mark the old criminal is the senate leaders. Why! Why! Why? This is unfair they want to destroy Nigeria but almighty God will not allow them. We don't need this men to be our deputy senate president anymore and the rest of PDP party criminals, we don't want PDP party in any position in Nigeria anymore, because PDP party members have destroy Nigeria enough! Bukola Saraki, Yakubu Dagora, David Mark, Eke Ekweremadu must go. We want them to be an ordinary floor member @ the senate chambers that is all.

The best thing about this now is knowing my brother senator Bukola Saraki is a pdp kinda politician. Now let the real politics begin. Apc is the ruling party but pdp about to screw us arse holes. 1. When u care less about who becomes Senate president or speaker of house of Representative from your OWN party as a president, then u have "opposition" as leaders of National assembly that will make governance unbearable for your government which will hinder progressive development for Nigerians .

      Who does that???

Buhari has failed APC that gave him the platform to become president. If he knew he was not going to interfere as he said why then did he have to deceive APC senators by inviting them for a meeting at 9am at ICC ,knowing fully well that he won't be there, only for them to realize that their rival has been elected senate president unopposed.
This is the height of deceit by "holier than thou" president Buhari.

Enough of all these analogue politics. Buhari please wake up. Get a team to work with for proper advice. #NoToNonchalantAttitude

And for APC, why copy PDP policy even when you knew it failed(imposition of leaders to the National assembly). Where is the CHANGE you promised?? You won election almost two months ago and could not put your house in order for consensus candidates. #shameOnAPC #hypocrisy

Anyways, congratulations to Saraki and Dogara. APC fails , Nigerians win.

  83. Lol those of you commenting here and abusing APC please use your brains. Saraki is APC but is he ready to work with Jagaban and the others who really want change. Saraki is not an angel ooooo, the man has a dangerous plan. It's dangerous for him to emerge the Senate President. I am with Jagaban and the rest on this one.

    1. Tinubu is not a real change agent. He is just a greedy dictator! The real change agent is Buhari. Thank God for delivering Nigerians from the hands of thiefnubu. He wants to put Nigeria in his pocket like he has done to Lagos state. Never! It can never happen. Shame on him .

  85. so the APC understands the meaning of words like 'indiscipline' and 'treachery'. when they were absorbing PDP defectors like anything, what were they thinking? when former speaker Tambuwal cross - carpeted to APC and still retained speakership of the House what did they call it at the time?. sebi they all rejoiced?

a beg this is WONDERFUL for our democracy!!!

  88. the APC is not bigger than the Constitution of the Federal Republic. their internal rules/agreements are also subject to constitutional provisions. and today's proceedings in the national assembly were every bit in line with the provisions of the country's constitution.

when Tmabuwal cross carpeted to the APC and insisted on remaining speaker, they were all hailing him; jumping fence up and down to 'save' him from being impeached. Let them see how it feels like now.

Tinubu ntooorrr!!(with my tongue out and fingers under my eyes)

  90. The single purpose for the formation of APC is to remove Jonathan.Once that was achieved through the politics of wickedness against the state, the masses and promotion of inter tribal hatred, the players are back doing what they know best - promotion of self interest and preservation of ill gotten political wealth.
It will be infantile on the part of the APC leadership to assume that common principles and political correctness had brought everybody into the fold.APC is a house of cards but it is collapsing too soon.

  93. when tinubu did it through tambuwal, it was good for our democracy and it would deepen our democracy, now that the shoe is on the other foot, it is bad for our democracy. Clearly apc is not a party that is ready to practice true democracy, they are a very vindictive, biased and dictatorial party and God will save us from this one man party that Nigeria has found itself.

  97. Must they hand-pick for all positions? That is not democracy. They should give people the chance to contest and lose. To be ambitious is not a crime in politics. how come only Tinubu's anointed sons or individuals are now the change Nigerians want? One man cant run this country to his own advantage. i salute the courage of those who pulled the plug on him like men. this Nigeria belongs to us all and not one person who thinks hes a political wizard just because Jonathans administration messed things up and gave him the chance for Nigerians to follow the so called 'change'.

  98. APC should know that whatever you sow is what you reap. They sowed Tambuwal and are reaping Saraki. So they should stop lamenting and accept Saraki. They started it and it shall continue to be so. U TAMBUWAL ME I SARAKI YOU.

  100. I wish to know whether the newly constituted 8th National Assembly meet constitutionally requirement of 2/3 majority in selecting their leaders, if they do why is it that few of the member of APC who has became ruling party as of 15th May,2015 and was just been inaugurated into office barely a week ago complaining about. Please, help me inform them that the change agent Nigerians desires for is nothing but a true Democracy as we have just witness in the 8th National Assembly.let them support the victory of Bukola Sariki, and Yakubu Dogara as leaders of both the Senate and House of representative. they should should also know that able president Goodluck Jonathan has sacrificed dearly for Nigeria to be sustained let APC emulate for peace to reign.
