The presiding Judge, Justice Mohammed Yahaya said based on the formal request from the state government asking for the case to be dropped, the court had no choice but to drop it and discharge the accused. "I have no alternative than to pronounce according to law that the application of ‘nolle prosequi’ (unwilling to pursue) is hereby granted. In consequence, therefore, you, Wasila Tasi’u, are hereby discharged.” he said

ReplyDeletewas the law court even supposed to preside over a case involving a 15years old girl?
ReplyDeletego and read your law books again, didnt u read the part that say that she was married, the law qualifies you as an adult as soon as u get married, and this is no victory for child brides,y'll should read the post carefully, the case was dropped by the prosecutors so that's y d judge discharged her.
DeleteGood...
ReplyDeleteThis is the best news so far.
ReplyDeletemay God guide and guard her....

ReplyDeleteTo me, that's goodnews. This child molestation must stop, she is too young to face d burden of marriage.
ReplyDeleteThank God!
ReplyDeleteDts gdnews.
ReplyDeletethank god for her life
ReplyDeleteGood!
ReplyDeletethis girl committed pre-meditated murder and y'll are rejoicing at her being freed just like that, sentiments aside this ruling is bullshit, she carefully planned and executed a murder, be it child bride or not,now who is gonna pay for her crimes, didnt her shit of relations or parents knew that she was young before they married her off,i feel sorry for Nigerian youths that never fail to think somethings properly before celebrating.i feel sad for her that she was married off at an early age,but murder is not the answer, she ought to have been remanded in a home for at least ten years.if we all start murdering people.for every shit that they give to us I wonder what the country would be like.
ReplyDeleteWelcome news. Moving forward with her life, one hopes she gets necessary support to pursue some form of tangible skills and/education inorder to take care of herself. Hopefully, this case will be a reminder in the annals of Kano State history to re-think forced and early marriages of girls in particular.

ReplyDeleteim seiously disturbed here o.wit everyone congratulating the young girl.i never for one day wud support child marriage but this girl committed murder, whether we like it or not that is what she did.are we now in an era where two wrongs make a right? couldn't there hav been another way? Is this what we are leaving behind for others, that if they're in a child marriage they can plot to kill their hubbys knowing they will go scot free. Does she not need some form of rehab?

ReplyDeleteThat is the rule of law. ‘nolle prosequi’ is provided in our law as a discretion. That does not mean that the child bride is innocent
ReplyDeleteHappy for her....
ReplyDeletefor those saying it is good news.. na wa for una o. so she murdered 5 people and it is good news!!!! she is a serial killer. i am sorry this is just too deep and terribly wrong. she is not the first to be under aged in marriage and when we say 'under aged marriage' in whose eyes??? southerners and christains?? she is MUSLIM so it in not under aged to her based on her upbringing!!!! its her religion. SHE IS A MURDERER AND SHE WILL KILL AGAIN. do you guys even know the details of the case? her motive? what makes you think she did it because she felt she was under aged and wanted to go to school or not marry?? what if she did it because she was upset with him, he hit her or he cheated or anything as normal and considered trivial to most in a place like Nigeria. it was premeditated murder!!!!..she is a murderer period! and she should be jailed if not killed..if she did it. there are other ways. she can flee and run or seek asylum not kill 5 men!!!! she could have even committed suicide kpakpa! shame to you all that say this is good news. its because it wasnt any of your brothers that was one of the dead. rubbish judicial system. this can never happen in a serious country or even in the muslim country. infact any country or its citizens that are happy for this sort of crap deserve all the pain and hardship they encounter. rubbish!! i am christian and objective! rubbish. see her fully dressed as a devout muslim showing that she is used to under aged marriage and you guys are talking rubish. she is a crazy person and dangerous to society!!!
