President Jonathan sacks NIPS boss, announces replacement

President Jonathan today May 18th sacked the Executive Secretary, Nigeria Investment Promotion Council, Saratu Umar . Her sack comes months after aggrieved staff of the NIPS called on President Jonathan to remove her from office over allegations of highhandedness, staff intimidation and gross incompetence.

Pres. Jonathan announced Uju Hassan-Baba as the acting Executive Secretary of NIPS. See official press statement after the cut...

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the appointment of Mrs. Uju Aisha Hassan-Baba, as the new Executive Secretary/Chief Executive of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC). Mrs. Hassan-Baba takes over from Mrs. Saratu Altine Umar who has been relieved of her appointment as the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive of NIPC with immediate effect.

The new Executive Secretary/Chief Executive had served previously as Director-General, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in Anambra State and Director, Legal Services, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. 40. Seriously d thinking of Nigerians is wat has kept us backwards..so what if he sacks any even on his hand over day? Beside d way ppl murmur I keep wondering if d ppl he is replacing them with are not Nigerians? Don't dey deserve to have a feel of the position even if just for a day? Some ppl said give them just 1 day to rule Nigeria and they will perform wonders,

  41. She deserves to be sacked. Stupid wicked woman. U think say u be God. She sacked half of the entire staff who opposed to her policy of running d commission like her family biz . Awarding contracts to her coy companies and family members. I knew ur days were numbered bitch. I only pity those who you have subjected to hardship by sacking them. U will not know peace. God bless Mr president for this.

  42. The day I knew that this woman's days as Eexecutive Secretary was numbered was the day I was visiting the Commission with some foreign investors and she kept the delegation waiting for so long and only to walk in sit down without apologies or greetings said " yes what can we do for you"
It was like I wished seafloor will just open and cover me , I said to myself who the hell has Yoga Jona fostered on the Nigerian/ foreign investing public,
I think this sack was probably the presidents greatest achievement in office as the NIPC is too important an organisation be leftbin the hands of such incompetent and irresponsible challatant.
More grease to your elbow presido, although it was your blunder in the first place to hire her, thank God you realise in time to retrace your steps..

  43. I am not Nigerian. I met the woman at a trade fair abroad and she is an airhead. Spent all her time on phone instead of mingling with potential investors. Good riddance!
