Pics: Ministers applaud GEJ as he marks 5th year as Substantive President

Cabinet members this afternoon applauded Pres. Jonathan as he marked his 5th year as a Substantive President at the Federal Executive Council today May 6th. President Jonathan disrupted the order of the meeting immediately after the first stanza of the National anthem by calling on the council members to pray for someone whose birthday it was today.
“Today, we will not say the national prayer. Somebody is celebrating birthday so we will offer special prayers for him. Two very Godly people will pray, Nebo and Yuguda. Do you know the person?” When they could not answer, he said: “On May 6, exactly five years today, I was sworn-in as substantive President.”
The surprised cabinet members immediately broke into a round of applause. More pics after the cut

Jonathan became President on May 6th 2010 following the death of former President Umaru Yar’Adua and his declaration as Acting President through the doctrine of necessity introduced by the National Assembly.

If he had worn the election, the newspapers would have been filled with congratulatory messages. His media and public affairs people should be ashamed.

  21. Oh Yar'Adua,i can't believe it's 5yrs already.

I remember the last time I listened to you on May 29th 2008, i had prayed silently that God restore you, but he (God) had better plans for you.

You will always be remembered as the man who had great vision for Nigeria.
A man in whose tenure I didn't hear of tribal or religious differences... to Yar'Adua, what mattered most was "one Nigeria"

Thank you for the peace you restored to the Niger Delta.

you will always live in our hearts.

    Adieu Baba

  22. Jonathan is an olodo. How does celebrating your 5th year in office, a birthday celebration. This guy is obviously clueless and very unimaginative. I have always known that his tenure in office would signal end of PDP as a ruling party. Good riddaance to bad rubbish

  30. What! Is it birthday they call it or anniversary? This is what we have been coping with for the past 5 years. Call anniversary.. birthday... God thank you we are finally rid of this national embarrassment.
