Photos: Wife attempts to stab husband to death in Lagos

As I received from a LIB reader. Read below...
"I want to share a real story with you which happened over the weekend about a couple that live in Olowora. Isheri, Lagos Mr and Mrs Funsho Makinde who on Friday night in their flat had a heated argument which lead to the wife stabbing the husband on the thigh and arm with a big knife on a vein that led to the artery (and apparently this is not the first time she's pulled a knife on him)
My grieve here is that this woman is still allowed to walk on the streets of Lagos. It's absurd even the police men who came to the crime scene and took pictures, visited the man at emergency room in the hospital (LASUTH) after collecting 6 pints of blood, they still did not arrest her even though I believe they had enough evidence to do so...
There are organisations that fight for domestic violence against women whether verbal or physical but are women completely justified to say that we are the only species that suffer some form of abuse?
If this were a man you and I know this man would probably be locked up by now. This story is for real and it happened please this man needs to get justice as the woman is still seen strutting and cruising in his car while her husband is languishing in agonising pain
I need this woman to be rid of from our streets. I hope your platform can shed light to this case and hopefully bring justice to at least save his life.
His name Funsho Makinde - works at Vitaform
Her name Tayo Makinde. And they have been married for a year‎

    ReplyDelete
  27. Half baked gist!! Abeg tell us events that led to this!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's a one sided story, i doubt the police would have had enough proof and yet not arrest the lady.

    ReplyDelete
  33. WHAT IS THIS???????? I am a feminist, I work in women and children advocacy and I would love to find this woman and have her locked up for this horrible act. Nigerian society does not help either because the silly police and relatives will say na woman, you know how they are. Even if this man was beating her (the right thing to do is run and not stay and fight), this is wrong. THIS IS WRONG. Obara Jisos.

  57. One year marriage. This much blood spilled. Hmmmmmnnnn, when this man is well enough he needs no advice. She will kill him in his sleep. Her brains calculation for exerting pain/ punishments is faulty. She just want to hurt him real bad for whatever bad he did to her. And am sure you can't win in verbal war with her. She needs counselling.

  65. They are married for about a year and this is the 2nd attempt she has made to take his life.
Okay, my question to the man is, Is he a mumu or how hard is it to send her packing from his house?
When some people are more concerned about "looking good" in the eyes of society, even when its evident that they are married to a monster.
People would be advising him to "bear it", and forgive and all that bull shit.
Well, it's really his choice to decide he has had enough. If she had succeeded in killing him, the same people would be saying " Oh what a pity"
I don't advocate domestic violence to either gender. Men should treat women right and the same principle applies to women.

  68. It's so unfortunate that this blog carries stories without proper investigation.
I am not in support of violence but because I know the two families involved, I speak to the husband and wife on a daily basis, hence I know you have carried an unfair story.
The lady in question is not walking up and down the street crusing in his car as you claim. She's been shuttling between the home and hospital to get things for her husband. The police did not arrest the lady because the husband knows the actual truth and is not pressing charges. It was not an unprovoked attack. The man in question strangled the wife from the back when the wife was cooking. She pleaded for her release and eventually had to get his arm off her neck with the knife. Both families are not happy with the incident and they have not asked Linda or anybody to fight their case for them. Kindly investigate before putting stories up.

  84. The above story is not true and we don't know how the picture came about. This is from the figment of imagination of the writer who doesn't know what happened. There was a domestic accident involving mr Funsho and the police have looked into the matter and seeing that it's purely domestic released the wife who has been with her husband since the incident contrary to what the writer stated

Or is it by force to stay married to a lunatic?

He should stay there until she finally cuts his neck. I'm sure she's feeding him.

  88. Nna ehn!!! What type of madness is this and why is it the law here seems to see the woman as harmless and domestic violence is only so when the victim is a woman?!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Now this is some hideous crime. Women can be very wicked. Always want to play the victim with pretentious reasons. This is more than domestic violence, this is an attempted case to murder a human being all because a woman failed to control her miserable anger and emotion

  97. It happened in my area. d story teller didn't tell wat led to d argument. D whole thing started wen d husband cheated on d wife to d extend of impregnating d concubine n aborted d baby. D secret blew opened wen d husband forgot his phone at home n d wife went 2ru his phone to read d conversation btw her hubby n d lady who got pregnant for him. Meanwhile d wife hasn't been able to conceive since a year after after marriage n d hubby had d got to break their marriage vow by impregnating someone eventho it was aborted. D lady resigned her job in abuja just to be with her hubby in lagos. All these led d anger n d stabbing on d arm n lap of d guy. She indeed went to d extreme but both were to blame. D case is in d police station while d lady reports to d station everyday with undertaking.

But the day u'll see them strike, know that the man must have pushed too far. I hope u publish my comment. Thanks

My friend's husband was beating her mercilessly she had to stab him multiple times to defend her self. If this man didn't beat his wife at all and she stabbed him then she should be locked up because she is an animal.

  117. Please let the relevant authorities arrest this woman. Abuse is abuse whether from a man to a woman or woman to man, this should not be condoned. We are all humans and deserve to stay alive. i am a woman and i have suffered domestic abuse for 13years from my spouse, i had to leave the marriage to stay alive for my children... MARRIAGE IS NOT A DO OR DIE AFFAIR. That imbecile of a wife needs to be caged.

    ReplyDelete
  118. when a woman shows a sign of emotional instability it is seen as she is being weak and everyone must accommodate her... It's a normal terrain for men now, they can never win, bcos just like in the US when the protector (police) beats civilians it's pure irresponsible aggression but if it's the police that gets beat the police did something wrong and the civilian (who is a defacto victim of centuries of oppression) is a bold and courageous hero getting one back for the oppressed.

    Na why person gats pray

    ReplyDelete
  119. You can arrest her yourself na since you are more aware than the police. If she has been pulling the knife like you claim it simply means that was her tactics for self-defence. You did not tell us the part where her husband treats her like a piece of paper. Oshiii

  136. Dat is what happens when you use your God giving wife as girl and marry your girl friend as wife instead! I pray for God perfect solution over dat marriage, Like my boss use to tell me, dat marriage is a junction of everlasting bitterness when you marry your KNIFE and is also a junction of everlasting happiness when you marry your WIFE..

  137. I saw the lady on Sunday when I visited LASUTH to check on a friend at the Surgical Emergency Unit. From what I heard during her dialogue the her in-laws, her reason was that she heard her husband impregnated a lady. To add to that, she is the bread winner of the family. She should be arrested for real although they are in good terms as they smile at each other while on his sick bed.

  138. Hi Linda I just read this story and I completely agree that she should be arrested for aggravated assault or even worse. if the victim is interested in pursuing Justice then he should go to the Human Rights Protection Unit, Directorate for Citizen's Rights, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Block 2, 1st Floor, room 104, the Secretariat Alausa Ikeja, Lagos or better still call 08137566241. All the Best!

  141. More often than none, I get irritated and perturbed with the one-sided campaign of domestic violence without the sanity of a balanced consideration on this matter.

This happen all around the world, I once saw a video of an American couple - where the wife beat the husband blue-black for scolding their child and the police just drove by passing mockery expression - saying the man should fight for himself.

Am battered by this appalling story; would be delighted if the appropriate quarters can take up this case and let justice prevail.

There has to be equality in melting matters relating to domestic violence, not the one-sided chant of "violence against women". Some men are largely violated in recent times in our society.

  144. just one year into the marriage? my dear poster is better to allow the couple settle their differences, you wia not dia when he asked her to marry him. just allow them, they are adults, if the husband is tired of the domestic violent he sure knows what to do to end it.

  145. If she has to investigate every story you won't read anything here

    ReplyDelete
  146. we shouldn't be too quick to judge, let us hear the other version of the story, am not in support of home violence, what if the husband told the police not to press charges against her, just saying.

  147. hope kids are not involved in this marriage...my guy recover first, frm the hosital pack to a somwhere else..life first.the next time u will be stabbed in your sleep

  148. You guys that are quick to judge, you don't even know the real story and yet quick to comment. There are 2 sides to every story and I can say that Linda did not portray the couple's story. As above, it is a bystander's story. Linda should also investigate the authenticity of any story before publishing.

  161. We as humans are all selfish by nature. At worst, he cheated on her or what else can it be? Anyway, whatever the reason is irrelevant. Logical solution if you can't forgive him? - end the marriage and everyone goes their own way! But it is always about 'me, me, me'....'I can't take this'....'I have invested my whole life in this'......'bla, bla, bla'. So, trying to kill him gives her complete satisfaction, abi?
