Open letter to Mr. President-elect, Buhari - By Charly Boy

Sequel to his opinion on the zoning formula and our polity, CharlyBoy, writes the president elect, Gen. Buhari an open letter that mirrors not just his mind but that of many others. Find below...
Oga GMB,
How far? I trust you have been getting enough rest and getting ready for the mother of all battles in your life. You know how hard and how long you have fought for this and now that you have it, we can’t wait to see how our lives will change!
You must understand that our expectations are high, but you can't blame us too much. By faith or design, you have become a symbol of renaissance for a nation that has been battered by mismanagement and unprecedented corruption. Kai! Odiegwu!

Many of us were sold on your Change Campaign, tired of the usual statuesque and many more just wanted a better life for ourselves and our loved ones. All eyes are on you, I trust you know that by now. This Change should demonstrate to us possibilities, hope again for the youths of this country and a channeling back to those core values which we hold sacred. Anything less will be same of the same.  Shey you get?

Fact from fiction, truth from rhetoric, I know that it is foolhardy to expect that one individual alone can by himself/herself bring about this Change we desperately need and earnestly desire. However, inasmuch as you need to raise a viable team to work with, using the formula of zoning won't cut it. My earnest advice to you is to choose officers and men strictly on merit and not necessarily what geopolitical zone they come from. Remember, this same zoning formula has been used at different times in this country, and each time, it has failed. The issue of zoning coming up now again is a reminder of times in the past that we desperately want to forget. Same of the same?

I would want to believe that you have come to heal and fix the rot.
It will never be easy because of the wolves and sharks amongst us who benefit big time from the corruption, the poverty, the confusion and hopelessness they inflict on Nigerians.

So after May 29th, as you put on your boxing gloves and crank your whip, we will be watching with bathed breath to see not only the will to fight this battle but the sincerity and strategies to lead us on the path of true healing for our broken Nation. Biko.

Oga me, e don set oooooo.

Much Respect,
Na me.
AreaFada, Charlyboy

We need positive change!

  3. Zoning can still be done. The country is filled with technocrats from different corners of the country who are more than willing to contribute to the change we crave.
but zoning shouldnt be done for the sake of it.
no more same of the same

    1. @Bonita, What are U looking for? Credible competence or just mixtures. My friend U and ur achaic opinion belong to the Nigeria of yesterday. We are now in a new era Nigeria, so carry ur money-sharing and corruption-laden opinion follow GEJ/PDP on their way out. U simply belong to the past. No thanks.

  27. Nice one area fada.. well articulated and spoken, apt and not rude. We all need to join hands with this government to make the changes we desire. I have so many Igbo friends who still have not found a place in their hearts to forgive and be optimistic about a change, afterall it is in the interest of all Nigerians, instead of hoping for the best and praying for Naija. They keep saying "wait and see Buhari fail" AND I THINK THAT IS NOT PATRIOTIC. Im so thrilled that area fada, an igbo man is objective and offering advice, instead of castigating, i guess education has a role to play. God bless u area fada and may u live long

  35. Nice write up better than Ben Bruce article of doom, filled with envy, hate and beef.Yes we expect so much from GMB cause of the corruption and poverty our state of d Nigerian society hence it is apt for us to suffer from frustration of rising expectation. But we will look up to God to guide him so Je can do what God has sent him to do for us Nigerians

  47. And someone is sincerely if he voted for him? I still can't understand why some people feel if you dint vote for GMB, you don't have the right to talk about his administration? Nigeria is democratic and we all have the right to vote who we want, just as we all have the right to give constructive criticism about the president, regardless of whether he was your initial choice or not. A lot of ppl even on this blog need to take a cue from GEJ and imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship. True patriotism calls for supporting the president and speaking out till we have a better Nigeria

  48. Correct! Area fada true talk I pray GMB reads this.
