If I had kids in the us they are from the US not Nigeria and the same should apply to lagos, onitsha Abuja where ever. They can't claim a piece of land because their ancestors came there 500 years ago. On the long run many will live in lagos and have kids there and die there and be buried there and you say that those kids are not from lagos. Get it in to your skull, they owe you nothing. Please let us hide our shame. The only "respect'" any outsider which includes expatriates etc owe their new host country, is to always operate within the law of that Land. ReplyDeleteThank God I never had a need to live in that their so called Lagos, until the good lord settled me in a better place, lone star state in the US. I can't imagine my self been reminded every day that I'm a non indigene,tell me who to vote, and tell me to always respect them(host community)when I'm a law abiding citizen going about my business.It only happens in Nigeria. Here in the US, there are certain things you vomit with your mouth, they sue your ass for verbal abuse or racial slur or sexist statement, people don't just open their mouth anyhow to anybody, not even to a foreigner. I guess the problem is that this position of Oba, Igwe, Emir etc, is an idle position and is not relevant any more, if government can scrap out these positions or better still apportion duties that will keep them busy and occupied so that the talkative among them can get busy that will do us good.

All you people attacking the Oba and saying Lagos is a no mans land, how many of you don't travel home for Christmas or you are not planning to build a house in your village! You build houses to rent etc. Someone mentioned US earlier, do you know if you go to university outside your state your tuition is the same as international student? why are we deceiving ourselves? we are not the same the earlier we realize this the better for us as a nation.
