Nigerians will appreciate Jonathan in future - Nyesom Wike

Read the press statement below...
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that Nigerians will in the future appreciate the contributions of immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan to national development. In an interview with journalists after the Thanksgiving Service for Former President Goodluck Jonathan at Yenagoa on Saturday, Nyesom Wike said that Jonathan has worked hard to improve the standard of living in the country.
He described Jonathan as a worthy Nigerian leader who has contributed to deepening the country’s democracy.

Wike said: "Nigerians will in the near future appreciate all the contributions of President Goodluck Jonathan to the development of the country in all spheres of life. "His greatest achievement is his work in democratic circles. Nigeria will forever be grateful to him for being a statesman".

The governor noted that the high-powered delegation from Rivers State to the former President was indicative of the appreciation of the state.

Governor Wike was accompanied to Bayelsa by his deputy, Dr Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, Former Governor, Celestine Omehia, former deputy governor, Tele Ikuru, former Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon Austin Opara, Senators elect, House of Representatives elect and elected members of the House of Assembly.

  1. Can they stop calling a hero already....
This guy is a loser, a clueless adult who gets things he never deserved... at least one of the reasons why he is being called a hero

We will never ever have cause to appreciate him,.....he did nothing memorable, he accepted defeat because he is a follower not a leader....

    1. @Anon 4:53, u totally missed it, and u r an ingrate if not u wouldn't b dis irrational wit ur judgement.

Wht a shame dat some Nigerians r so blind wit wht it takes to b in leadership position. If u were given d opportunity to b d President of Nigeria I don't think u wil achieve half of wht GEJ achieved while in office.

GEJ tried, and he d wht he could do afterall he is only human, and we don't expect him to do more than his capacity.

God bless him abundantly, and I wish him well. Thumbs up to him, and more power to his elbows.

Wat has GEJ done for Rivers State, how far with East West Road and Refinery Road. How cum a whole Bayelsa State do not have a sound airport. Passing. Thru Bayelsa state, there is no trace of Former President's presence. Mcheww.

  23. What members? Rivers assembly is full of ex militants and kidnappers now, the once Wike used to kill and intimidate voters. Wike is there because this family helped him to frustrate Ameachis government but they will soon know his real color. He is just tagging on because he needs their support at the tribunal. But he won't survive it, and if he does him and Faka madam Jonathan will fall out soon after. Let's wait and see.

  24. Posterity will indeed vindicate you. It is not your fault that the house of assembly did not pass the gay rights bill. US, UK, Obasanjo(the strong man of Nigeria holding it in a strangle hold) etc. Were all against you. US and UK are now ready to work with Buhari to fight Boko Haram because
he together with the APC members has
mortgaged us to them. God is the ultimate judge. He is watching. He is the one that will vindicate you at the end.

  31. Wike could be sentimental in his statement but also entitled to his own opinion. High time we measure the performances of our leaders on the impact of their administration on the poor and not speaking from the favoritism enjoyed like Wike.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Mr Wike you can continue to appreciate your gej, it's non of our business. An reasonable Nigerian knows that gej administration was full of corruption and impunity.

  39. God and prosterity will vindicate you Jonathan. CNN just reported that a whooping 200million people have been eleviated from hunger and starvation this past couple of years and most of them are from West Africa. We all know that 3/4 of these figurea are from Nigeria all thanks to the Jonathan administration policies. Thank you.

  40. We appreciate him for handing over peacefully already.

  41. CNN just reported that a whooping 200million people have been eleviated of hunger and starvation over the past couple of years and most of them from West Africa which inevitably means Nigeria. The only thing they missed out was putting in place socio economic policies and direct welfare policies that will uplift the living standard of the very poor which makes up most of the population. The result was grumbling and disatisfaction from a huge part of the country. They tried to remedy that with the N5billion ear marked for buying cooking stoves for the rural women but it came very late. They should have also worked on employment more. But alround he tried with transportation and foi and some other policies that helped to grow our GDP. He accomplished all this without looking at the US or Uk. This Buhari's latest marriage with the G7 and western world is a bit dodgy. He should thread carefully. I would like to see how it all pans out though. Maybe we would eventually find out that they mean well because history has thought us that for these nations "nothing goes for nothing"
