More graphic pics from fatal accident in Onitsha today (it's horrific)

There was a fatal accident in Onitsha this afternoon. A Tanker laden with fuel which was coming from Awka and moving towards Asaba failed brake at the ever busy Asaba Park at Upper Iweka, Onitsha and exploded upon crashing into the park, burning more than 20 people beyond recognition and also burning 10 commercial buses parked at the park. Most of the dead bodies have been deposited at the Toronto Hospital Morgue by FRSC Officials.  See the photos after the cut but please be warned, it's horrific...

  53. GOD PLS SAVE UR CHILDREN.

TO THINK THESE PEOPLE WERE ALIVE, HAIL AND HEARTY AS AT THIS TIME YESTERDAY.THEY HAD HOPES, DREAMS, PURSUING ONE THING OR THE OTHER. THEY PROBABLY HAD APPOINTMENTS AND SCHEDULED MEETINGS FOR THE UPCOMING WEEK. THIS IS MORE THAN HORRIFIC.
I THINK WE NEED A REVOLUTION IN THIS COUNTRY IF BUHARI GOVT DOESNT ACT QUICK! BECOS THIS DOESNT HAPPEN LIKE THIS COMMONLY IN CIVILIZED COUNTRIES. IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO LACK OF PUBLIC CARE AND POOR GOVERNANCE. FOR THE TRAILER TO HAVE RAMMED LIKE THAT SOMETHING MUST HAVE BEEN FAULTY WITH IT (THE BREAKS AS THE STORY REPORTS).

ABROAD WHETHER IT IS UR FAULT OR NOT U ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PUT A 'FAULTY' CAR ON THE ROAD - WHETHER U ARE AWARE OR NOT AS U ARE TO PERIODICALLY CHECK THESE THINGS WITH THE AUTO TECHNICIANS.
THERE WAS A MAN WHO PAID A £500 FINE BECOS ONE OF HIS BREAK LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. BEFORE HE LEFT HIS HOUSE THEY WERE WORKING BUT WHEN HE WAS STOPPED BY TRAFFIC OFFICIALS ONE WAS NOT WORKING, HE WAS STILL BLAMED THAT A PERIODIC CHECK WOULD HAVE MADE HIM REALIZE HE NEEDED TO CHANGE HIS BREAK LIGHTS (WHICH IS WAY CHEAPER THAN THE FINE HE PAID). IMAGINE!,IF HE WILL ALLOW SUCH A THING TO HAPPEN TO HIS CAR AGAIN.

THEY VALUE HUMAN LIVES THERE, AND BTW ANYONE WHO DISAGREES WITH ME AND TRY TO CURSE ME, AS U DEY EVEN OPEN UNA MOUTH, U WILL BE THE NEXT VICTIM OF SUCH!

  128. Lord have mercy, rest in peace to those that lost their life in this tragic way. may God give their family fortitude to bear this sudden lost, but what on earth is a tanker full with fuel doing on a busy road in the afternoon. they r suppose to run around 12 to 4am, this accident is preventable. may God protect us in Jesus name Amen.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Until we have & implement a standard approval rating for fuel tankers & the drivers that drive them, such horror may repeat themselves. When trucks in USA are no longer road worthy, we import them & sell them for millions of naira. I think this is madness. Secondly, tanker drivers must be put under serious training as pilots, bcos any error on that part can cause similar devastation

  130. Now if oyinbo man call us animal, we go begin vex, what kind of human takes picture of his kind while deceased in an unnatural state. We lack common sense of decency, in other part of the world such activities are handled by forensic expert and crime scene technician for a meaningful purpose. We really need to grow up. RIP to the departed.
