There was a fatal accident in Onitsha this afternoon.
A Tanker laden with fuel which was coming from Awka and moving towards
Asaba failed brake at the ever busy Asaba Park at Upper Iweka, Onitsha
and exploded upon crashing into the park, burning more than 20 people
beyond recognition and also burning 10 commercial buses parked at the
park. Most of the dead bodies have been deposited at the Toronto Hospital
Morgue by FRSC Officials. See the photos after the cut but please be warned, it's horrific...

ReplyDeleteJehovah! These are victims of time and chance. They are in the wrong place at the wrong time. It could be anybody. So sad. My heart goes out to their families.
ReplyDeleteGOD PLS SAVE UR CHILDREN.
ReplyDeleteTO THINK THESE PEOPLE WERE ALIVE, HAIL AND HEARTY AS AT THIS TIME YESTERDAY.THEY HAD HOPES, DREAMS, PURSUING ONE THING OR THE OTHER. THEY PROBABLY HAD APPOINTMENTS AND SCHEDULED MEETINGS FOR THE UPCOMING WEEK. THIS IS MORE THAN HORRIFIC.
I THINK WE NEED A REVOLUTION IN THIS COUNTRY IF BUHARI GOVT DOESNT ACT QUICK! BECOS THIS DOESNT HAPPEN LIKE THIS COMMONLY IN CIVILIZED COUNTRIES. IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO LACK OF PUBLIC CARE AND POOR GOVERNANCE. FOR THE TRAILER TO HAVE RAMMED LIKE THAT SOMETHING MUST HAVE BEEN FAULTY WITH IT (THE BREAKS AS THE STORY REPORTS).
ABROAD WHETHER IT IS UR FAULT OR NOT U ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PUT A 'FAULTY' CAR ON THE ROAD - WHETHER U ARE AWARE OR NOT AS U ARE TO PERIODICALLY CHECK THESE THINGS WITH THE AUTO TECHNICIANS.
THERE WAS A MAN WHO PAID A £500 FINE BECOS ONE OF HIS BREAK LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. BEFORE HE LEFT HIS HOUSE THEY WERE WORKING BUT WHEN HE WAS STOPPED BY TRAFFIC OFFICIALS ONE WAS NOT WORKING, HE WAS STILL BLAMED THAT A PERIODIC CHECK WOULD HAVE MADE HIM REALIZE HE NEEDED TO CHANGE HIS BREAK LIGHTS (WHICH IS WAY CHEAPER THAN THE FINE HE PAID). IMAGINE!,IF HE WILL ALLOW SUCH A THING TO HAPPEN TO HIS CAR AGAIN.
THEY VALUE HUMAN LIVES THERE, AND BTW ANYONE WHO DISAGREES WITH ME AND TRY TO CURSE ME, AS U DEY EVEN OPEN UNA MOUTH, U WILL BE THE NEXT VICTIM OF SUCH!
Jesus christ this is much,God i am still thanking you for saving me from this incident, may they souls RIP AMEN

ReplyDeleteI hate the way people carry their phones and take pictures instead of helping to save a life; how can a human being have such a gory picture on their phones for heaven's sake. Nigerians should be addressed on this, that is not the reason for the invention of fones or camera fones. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteMay their souls rest in peace, Linda dignify you blog it's not every picture sent to you that you have to piblish, have respect for the dead biko..just observing

ReplyDeletePls give ur Life to Jesus today...coS anything can happen at anytime. ONLY ONE LIFE WILL SOON BE PAST. HELL IS REAL AND HOTTER THAN ANY FIRE IN THIS WHOLE WIDE WORLD.REPENT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.
ReplyDeleteGovt especially the FG should look into this issue of transporting flammable oil products using vehicles....
ReplyDeleteOh Lord !!!..soo sad
ReplyDeleteThere is no need to show these pictures on your blog girl. If anything, it stops people reading your blog rather than generating clicks...
ReplyDeleteLord have mercy, rest in peace to those that lost their life in this tragic way. may God give their family fortitude to bear this sudden lost, but what on earth is a tanker full with fuel doing on a busy road in the afternoon. they r suppose to run around 12 to 4am, this accident is preventable. may God protect us in Jesus name Amen.
ReplyDeleteUntil we have & implement a standard approval rating for fuel tankers & the drivers that drive them, such horror may repeat themselves. When trucks in USA are no longer road worthy, we import them & sell them for millions of naira. I think this is madness. Secondly, tanker drivers must be put under serious training as pilots, bcos any error on that part can cause similar devastation
ReplyDeleteNow if oyinbo man call us animal, we go begin vex, what kind of human takes picture of his kind while deceased in an unnatural state. We lack common sense of decency, in other part of the world such activities are handled by forensic expert and crime scene technician for a meaningful purpose. We really need to grow up. RIP to the departed.
ReplyDeleteOlorun sanu wa......this is too much
ReplyDeletethis is the most horrific thing i have seen in a mighty long time.
ReplyDeleteR. I P May God console their families.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievably!, is this in real life Or dream? God please I know we are all sinners but because of the kind of death they experienced, please have mercy and grant them all internal peace. And consoul their relatives.
ReplyDeletehmmmmm, people just get on the road and start driving! the way and manner the so called lorry/tanker drivers move on the road is so very crazy! and when you try to correct them the next thing is they rain abuses on you! now that this happened now who is to blame...kai! this country naija and her citizens. pls a word of advice, private owners, taxi drivers, bus drivers, tanker/lorry drivers, dangote drivers...pls nd pls always think of the next person on the rd! nd remember what we re driving is jst metals which kuld fail at any point in tym!
