Wait a minute, we now have self-service check-in machines at our airport?

Sports journalist Colin Udoh shared the photo above and wrote "Finally, the self service check-in machines come to a Nigeria airport. Used one within the country for the first time today. Simpler than most I've used elsewhere". For real? Anyone else seen this at any of our airports?

  39. Linda, itz all becos u don't travel often frm d local airport. Well there is a self check in counter for passengers without luggage on d ground floor and also @ d screening point u have the E-gate where u just scan d barcode on ur boarding pass and automatically open. Now we have sanity @ mma2 where all those in govt will just come n misbehave with their Yeye crowd... dee

  45. All under the GEJ administration. This. Administration has made many positive strides; no matter how little, but the unfortunate fact is that the negatives outweigh the positives.

  50. what airport is this? Abuja or Lagos

    ReplyDelete
  51. I am an aviation reporter and I can say for sure that the Self check-in machines are not the only innovations in MMA2. Now they also have e-gates that provides automated access to secured areas. All you do is scan the barcode on your boarding pass at the boarding gate. Also, they introduced a software called BAGERA, which has also automated baggage reconciliation. They are currently contemplating the introduction of baggage drop, which means passengers will be able to self check-in their luggage. Methinks govt should just privatise or concession all our airports to other serious-minded companies, just like it has done with MMA2 that is being run by Bi-Courtney.

    ReplyDelete
  52. A nice move in the right direction. Linda take note!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Good innovation and advancement

    ReplyDelete
  54. I totally agree with you an on 10:32 the govt shud just privatize other airports. These guys at MMA2 have done well.

    ReplyDelete
  55. yes, used it last year at MMA. and if u check in online you dnt have to queue. always easy and better to check in online.
