Read what Ali Baba wrote about actors and piracy

Actor Yemi Shodimu and others stormed the streets of Lagos to seize pirated copies of Kunle Afolayan's movie, October 1. This prompted this write-up above from Ali Baba. Is he calling actors intellectual imbeciles or I'm the one who doesn't get what he's trying to say?

  5. This actor seizing these stuffs is funny. Do u know how many copies are out of Lagos as well, and even been circulated in Lagos, what u r doing is in vain rather find a way to tackle it. Involving the government and authority, the pirates are very smart hope u know, now it affected their Yoruba brother and they r all active, when others complain of piracy they never acted this way

    1. So they should come and help you fight your own battle? Idiot! What happened to your own hands, legs and mouth? It's the fact that they are helping their brother that is paining you. Don't you have brothers too? Oh I forgot! It's your brothers doing the piracy. Bladdy fool!

If you can't afford cinemas then wait till the movie is officially out. ##say no to corruption ## salome

  15. I know this is very painful, when AY complained no one acted this way,Kunke even made it worse with the statement he made cursing. I have no pity for the tribalistic dude, he should not have made a statement calling any tribe,AY handles his in a matured way

And u Linda , you refused to publish the news when the marketer was acusing the alaba pirate which are Igbo but you quickly run to ur computer to publish that nonsense letter chimamanda wrote. You do well. We know u guys want ur Biafra more than anything yet you call other tribe tribalist

All those times AGN were visiting Aso rock up and down, why didn't they push for a better law for piracy, instead taking pictures and money.

  32. I am not a film maker but would soon be. Who should fund the film industry? Is it the govt. or private investors? I really don't understand. I rent my camera, get the producer, pay artist and all sort. I am confused. Who funds me? No one name! We know this people that pirates the movies we do why not fish them out or is it cos they r big shots? Forget joor. Na we dey do ourselves.

  42. I agree with alibaba the problem of nollywood isn't money it is developing a structured system. Why can't we develop film companies like mgm, 20th century fox, paramount pictures etc and even a collaboration of these companies produce movies in Nigeria its easier to fight piracy as a cooperate entity than as scattered small film makers, the so-called alaba pirates can even go legit and bid for distribution contracts since they have the network already. The movie industry is a big one and also a profitable one were all stake holders can have a piece of the pie structure is important not software or encryption or presidential visits or campaign or money sharing, why can't the lobby the national assembly to inact a piracy bill? All wen dey were romancing with GEJ why didn't they ever ask for an anti piracy agency? I mean them no disrespect but they are just after their stomach not the industry.

  69. He went too far, but let's not forget d point, creativity should b encouraged, in the end after all the work Kunle Afolayan has put in, he ends up poor. monkey dey work baboon dey chop. His anger is justified. We should start thinking of solving these problems from the root, not avoiding dem. Piracy is no joke, they r not different from thieves

  70. Sometimes before we talk, let us try to put ourselves in others' shoes.
