    2. Nigerian leaders, past and present, believe it's best to hide the ugly past in order to keep the country " one ". To heal a wound it's, most times, necessary to expose it, examine and dress it for adequate healing. As long as we continue to hide the ugly aspects of our history, we shall continue harbour mistrust and hatred against one another.
I was not a witness to the war but I have vivid memories of stories, worse than what this picture portrays, of how many of my relatives died during and after the war in the hands of Nigerian soldiers, some in cold blood.
Perhaps the greatest number of atrocities were committed after Biafra surrendered. Children born from the wanton rape of our women now adults, still remind us of the horrors of the war.
Many of us have moved on however, we should not pretend that these things did not happen. They did.

She's trying to show how Nigeria is complete fallacy, see how a part of the west in suffering and this ever consciously slippery yoruba's party. I prefer the Hausa's by far cos I no what to expect and how to defend myself but with our south west brothers one will never know. Finally oyeburu na turn by turn.

Anyone that believes In new beginnings and the unity of this country should go to other responsible websites. Linda seems to have gone way over her head with this stunt and wants to use this medium to manipulate the people. This is just a common site, most of the stories she takes from other sites, anyone can be destroyed. All it takes is some good hackers and a public movement. This has left a bad taste. Are you one of those who think that sweeping the realities of the Biafran war under the carpet will make it disappear? Obviously Nigeria remains a divided country cos the issues that led to the war have never been addressed neither the aftermath. Just take a look at the voting map of last weekend. Enough said. Pls leave Linda and her blog alone & stop insinuating nonsense just because you can't help trembling anytime the word Biafran is mentioned.

Words can only do so much. Hugs can do much more than words, but when hugs can’t do anything, that’s where faith kicks in. For me, words and hugs were not enough, but I had no faith. So I tried to give up. At age 10, I tried to drown myself in 6 inches, or 15 centimeters of water, in my home. I told my dad I just wanted to relax, but really, I wanted to end my life. I had enough. I had enough. Ok? Click OVERCOMING HOPELESSNESS to read.

  107. The Ibos started all these. They said they wanted to breakaway & instead of breaking away, they were coming to Lagos. To the Yorubas they were not trying to break away but trying to rule Nigeria. So, they joined the army. Bcos if Ojukwu should step in the west, many Yoruba life would be lost. So they had to keep the Biafrans from coming to Lagos by all means possible. Nothing against the Ibos. We were just protecting our people.

    1. Fool. I don't blame you. It is because the true history of nigeria and the civil war are not taught in schools as a result people are blind to their own history. I feel sorry for Nigerians. In order to move forward one needs to know and learn from their past.

  110. In as much we would like to delete certain occurrences from our national history, the nigerian-biafran civil war is something that would be hard to erase, the lessons of the war must be taught in schools so as history not to repeat itself.

  115. That reminds me, I met a Swiss national in Kaduna in the 80's, and during our discussion, he told me that the Ibo's don't have a leader, I probed to know the source of his information, he told me that it was a book he read that said so. What I am trying to say is that the way things are going today, it seems the Igbo race failed to learn anything after the civil war that ravaged the South East, and set so many of us backwards, and to date the signs are still there for the unborn generations to see.

  116. Putting up this photos was so unnecessary because you didnt have to make people sick and drive alot down memory lane. People are doing everything posible to keep nigeria as one and u are pretty much spreading hate.

God forgive you. You just lost a fan and a follower.

  126. so why are the biafrans in lagos and not in biafra building and growing their economy? With that said, I do think it's time for an ibo president just to get unity in this country. Whether they do better or not is in question but for unity sake, lets have an ibo president the next round. Although I fear they may use the opportunity to get finally create a biafra state...

  128. that is why I will always be sentimental. the atrocities committed by the Nigerian government to Ndiigbo during the war is simply cruel

  129. That is why we dont grow in this country ... History is very important to any nation or group of people .. for instance the suffering the jews underwent during the nazi era is still remembered till today ... So why should biafra be an exception ... We dont bury the past .. we learn from it ... Linda i salute ur courage .. other tribes may hold no relevance to the civil war .. but an average ibo will always have that history in thier minds . You cant errase it rather it can be addressed

  130. Ibos are the funniest beings in the world. You blame awolowo for restricting food and other goods from reaching the East (Biafra) during the war. Who gives his opponent food during war? I am not saying I support war, but from a sensible point of view, no one gives an opponent aids to defeat him in a battle. Starvation was one strong factor in defeating the Biafrans, and so they did.

  131. We just averted something similar to this Baifran War just a week ago,God Bless PGEJ.
