INEC declares Taraba Gov. election inconclusive, to hold a rerun

INEC has declared the Saturday April 11th governorship election in Taraba state inconclusive. The state Resident Electoral Officer, Mr Ahmed Makamma said the election results from Donga Local Government Area has been cancelled following high number of cancelled votes in the LGA. He said a rerun election will be conducted in that Local government..

He added that the PDP governorship candidate, Mt Darius Ishiaku is leading with 53, 000 votes while the only female governorship candidate in this election, Hajia Aisha Alhassan of the APC is coming second in the race going by the results collated so far.
"So that makes the election inconclusive, because if you look at the margin at the moment is 53, 000 and the number of cancelled votes is 127, 125, so there will be a runoff election to determine who the winner is”, he said.
Meanwhile the state government has imposed a 7pm-6am curfew in all parts of the state following the post election violence that has engulfed the state. There has been fights in the state following accusations and counter accusations of election rigging.

  32. Where are the womenfolk in this country?

    This woman has created history!

She broke the myths in the Nirth and also all over the country!

She has been leading the votes in many wards and LGs.

All of a sudden, TY Danjuma's candidate comes to lead. After it is rumoured TY dropped N1bn to win the electorate over, and he says "Governorship is not meant for women"!!

He forgets his wife broke the myth to represent Delta State in the Senate.

    Let the people's will triumph!!!

Women, let's come out and support our own! First elected female governor in Nigeria!

  35. No doubt a woman deserves to be Governor in Nigeria but not this woman. She is too high handed, emotional and unstable, a fact buttressed by her serial marriages..

  36. See why its good to wait for INEC, I saw somewhere it was ''confirmed'' this woman is in clear lead

  38. Please i pray APC wins the game it will definitely serve ask lesson to Gen. T.Y.Danjuma that his not a God as he thinks. He had time to speak on the dead instead of working to sustain his political block.

  39. TRUTH IS SHE IS A MUSLIM AND THAT WILL MAKE IT HARD FOR HER TO WIN TARABA STATE THAT IS A CHRISTIAN STATE.

    ReplyDelete
  40. SHE CANT WIN BECAUSE SHE IS A MUSLIM AND TARABA STATE IS CONTROLLED BY CHRISTIANS. EVEN IF THE DO THE RERUN IN THAT LGA 1000 TIMES SHE WILL NEVER WIN THERE BECAUSE THE PDP CANDIDATE COMES FROM THAT ZONE.TRUE FACT. TARABA A CHRISTIAN STATE
