The former Belgium Under-21 international fell during the first half of a match on Monday April 27th. He was first treated on the pitch but when they realized it was serious, he was rushed to the hospital where he was placed on life support. His condition didn't improve and today his family agreed his life support should be switched off. He passed away around 4pm today.
"Gregory was only one-and-a-half years at the club, but in that short time his quiet modesty made him an indispensable person. Now we will have to learn to live with the loss." his club said in a statement. May his soul rest in peace, amen.

ReplyDeleteI thought they carried our periodic checks on players in their clubs? Players dying of heart conditions or with heart issues are becoming common place these days. Before now it was Sam Okwaraji, then there was the Spanish guy, the Vivien Foe,,then Mulumbu who luckily survived his ordeal. I thought the footballing world would have learnt but no.
