  33. I want to share some vital points on here for the esteemed followers on this blog. I am sure most of you did not know/have forgotten that Jimi Agbaje had a strong political affiliations with Tinubu. He was indeed a political 'godson' to Tinubu. He felt he should be allowed to run on the ACN platform in 2007 but was denied because he has never held any public service post neither has he served in the public office. This is however an integral part of governance (esp in Nigeria). JK is inexperienced and will not perform as much and as fast as Fashola would. This decision therefore gave Lagos the opportunity of having Fashola as the governor, and no one can deny the fact that Tinubu's decision was right for the state. Jimi Agbaje's desperation to be the governor of lagos state has once again made him associate with the corrupt and criminal group (Bode George, Obanikoro, Ogunlewe, etc) just because he felt PDP is a stronger opposition than his previous party which he ran on their platform in 2007-2011. As vibrant and eloquent as he is, JK does not have the wherewithal and experience to run Lagos State. I bet you, after he removes/reduces the toll fee at Lekki, he has nothing else to offer 'cos that's the only thing in his manifesto, and has been shouting it all about to get at vulnerable voters. My question to him is...what is he going to do to the toll the FG collects at the Airport Car park? Also the rent paid on luggage carriers at the airport which is supposed to be free?

  36. As a stern follower of Lagos State politics, Ambode is the better candidate. I'm not being biased here but JK as vibrant and eloquent as he is, will have a lot to learn in governance as he has not held any political related office/post (to the best of my knowledge). Ambode on the other hand (irrespective of the manner in which he left public service) has worked in various sections and has held strategic posts in the government of the state. He also will have direct access to previous govt/governors thereby allowing smooth transition which in turn aids continuity in on-going projects and plans for the state. Finally, Lagos state has merely benefited from the FG as it's always on the opposition. Now is the time to be in line with the Centre and get all that is due in terms of FG allocation amongst other things- #Chinemerem

  43. Lagos will see faster development now that an APC government is set to govern the country from the centre. I congratulate us all as Nigerians have showed great resolve and faith in the APC to hand over the government at the centre to the Party.

This presents a unique opportunity for accelerated growth and progress in Lagos. The time is set for Lagos to enjoy “more of more” in the delivery of good governance.

Lagos has not had the luxury of Federal support in the last 16 years. Dear Lagosians, our time has come to enjoy genuine Federal presence to fast-track our development as we look set to achieve a Lagos of our dreams.

Buhari is a disciplined man so don't expect any special favour bcos you are in his party. Jimi has held good positions and has handled it properly, both in the private sector and public sector and so he is the best man for the job. I am embarrassed that he was the accountant general cos with that poor intellect, he is just another error in the public sector. Where they employ illiterates to work for small penny and that's why most top graduates are discouraged from going in there.

If the apc was really so concerned abt lagos n its citizens wellbeing such that they have to be aligned with the federal government to fare well, y didnt they back down once dey saw pdp was at the centre all these 16years? People should open their eyes and stop being myopic in their reasoning. Jimi Agbaje is obviously the better of the 2 So he shud rightfully be voted in Jst as GMB was.

  79. If you don't know the process of prophetic words, don't put your mouth there.
You won't be able to stand when it backfires.
A prophecy does not happen according to man's timing but God's timing.
The bible says in 1 Thessalonicians 5 that "While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape".
We are still in the post-election period. I, myself, had received messages through dreams where I saw pandemonium after elections,it was written "the prophetic tariba has started", militaries everywhere. I shared it with a man of God and He said to me that He also had the same dreams.
    Be watchful!
Secondly we see in the bible that when the Prophet Jonah prophesied doom upon Ninivah, they repented and God heard their prayers, He changed His decree. The prophet was angry because His word fell to the ground but God gave Him a good lecture about His love and compassion for sinners especially when They repent. Same thing happened with Isaiah the prophet who prophesied death to king Hezekiah but the man prayed, cried before GOD to spare his life and GOD DID SO. The same prophet Isaiah came back to say that God heard Hezekiah's prayer and gave Him 15 more years to live.
President Jonathan acting all peaceful was God's doing. He heard the prayers of millions of Nigerians crying for peace. Now that God answered, you'd better not make a mockery out of His prophets because the sword of jugement is still hanging. GOD is testing the hearts.......The office of a prophet is not a senatorial seat or whatever, the rules of men dont apply there. Be careful in the way you interpret God's word or judge God's prophets. Daniel in the bible prophesied about the things to come in the later days, He died and never saw all His prophecies come to pass, but our generation is witnessing everything that Daniel predicted. Be careful!!!!!!!!!! God bless y'all!

  84. Dear Lagosians,

First let me thank you all for turning out to vote on the 28th March 2015 and for doing so peacefully to make history by electing the All Progressives Congress candidates in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Once again, I must address you as we approach Saturday’s elections, when you will be electing a Governor who will continue after me and consolidate on the progress we have built together.

You will also be electing members of the State House of Assembly who will make laws on your behalf to assist the Governor and his team in the Executive arm.

Although your votes will be cast for one political party or the other, let me remind you that you will actually be voting for your wellbeing, security, prosperity and future.

You will also be voting for the future of your children. You will be choosing candidates and a party that you will entrust your lives to.

Think hard, think clearly, think deeply. Ask yourselves a few questions.

Who has shown a better record and example of protecting and securing you between the political parties?

Which of the parties cares more when disasters happen?

What is the record of the parties as it relates to the promises they have made to you in the past?

Which of the parties do you see regularly and which one do you see once in a while?

Which of the parties do you see when your life or property is threatened by epidemics like Ebola or by unfortunate accidents like plane crashes?

Which of the parties is showing that you can become home-owners without knowing anybody?

Which party has responsibility for providing electricity for you, and which one is taking up the responsibility to light up your streets and communities at night?

Which of them cares more about your children and their safety?

Indeed ask yourself; which of the parties threatened you with thugs on that sad Monday of March 16th and which is seeking to protect you by supporting the police; with patrol vehicles, fuel and other equipment?

Ask yourself when last you saw the Federal Fire Service in Lagos. The proud men and women of the Lagos State Fire Service have taken over admirably.

Ask yourself who should be supporting the police and who is actually doing it?

Dear Lagosians, your choice of who to vote for will be easy if you answer these questions within yourself honestly.

Indeed, you have clear choices to make between parties that use your resources to develop your society and community on the one hand, and the party that chooses to bring money to you for distribution when election beckons.

So you can choose between schools for your children, hospitals for your community, roads for your transportation or in the alternative, you can choose to have these services monetized once in four years.

Remember, that choices have consequences and your vote will decide the choice that shapes your lives.

Dear Lagosians, it is tempting to take the right and opportunity to vote for granted. It is tempting to think that it is too much trouble.

I agree that the process can be made much easier. But it is no excuse to refuse to vote

  87. to the idiotic anonymous with so much hatred for the igbos...

Why didn't Nigeria let us go. You have benefitted from our resources and entrepreneurial activities for decades. Who is the ingrate in the grand scheme of things. If you are so positive that we are such a nuisance tell your govt to kick us out of Lagos. Let's see what will happen to commerce in Lagos. Better still let us go and develop our country Biafra. Idiot!

Ask your father or grandfather why they didn't let us go. You want to eat oil money. Trade and then have us thank you... For what? Anu ofia!!!

  88. Hmm, this guy is relying on APC not his own ideas. OK ooo. So what they are trying to say is that the Fed government will not help lagos when pdp is there or what? Is the Fed govt not supposed to be neutral? The funds that was seized from lagos, was seized by their new godfather Obasanjo. It is well. Nigeria, Lagos n all other states must move forward party or no party.

  91. GEJ said he had been caged since 1999 that he needs his freedom that was why he quickly concealed the defeat after all he knows about politics has failed him. But his present in Lagos today again for the governorship election is what is not cleared as if Lagos is the only state in the whole of Nigeria that will conduct Election on Saturday. GEJ this is not Beyesal please put your interest in your state not Lagos. We the Yorubas are the owner of Lagos not the Igbos as JK has sold his birth right to the Igbos because of election We also turned our back against you Jimi Uchechukwu Agbaje, omo ale.
