I voted in PortHarcourt and you need to see the length APC agents in my unit(ward 2, Unit 10 Obio akpor LGA) went to try to prevent elections from holding. They blocked INEC gate in Rumuomasi with 3 jeeps to prevent the officials from going to the polling units in that zone. Police chased them away with teargas and practically lifted the jeeps to open the gate for the INEC officials to disperse. They finally got to our unit at 3pm when alot of people had gotten fed up and left. Just before they arrived one of the APC agents came in threatening that elections would not hold in that town hall and that somebody will die there that day. When the INEC officials got to the hall they said the presiding officer ran away and when they called her she said she was too scared to come. They called their direct boss who told the assistant presiding officer to take up the presiding officers job. We lined up and then again the APC agents came and asked for the card reader, they showed it to them. They asked for the Presiding officer and the assistant stepped up and said she is the acting PO. The APC agent refused to accept that and said elections will not hold. The police woman there had to then call her boss who came with armed mobile police men and told them that they cannot prevent elections from holding and that they should write a report if they have issues. We were then able to do accreditation. After accreditation I was waiting to vote and the next thing there were 2 explosions back to back. All hell broke loose. People were running, the police was running out to see what was happening and cocking their guns. I ran through the back door. Boys were jumping the fence but I couldn't. I hid at the back with a few other people. When the place was calmer we came out and the building was on fire. They had to scramble to put it off. We found out it was fuel that was put in a bottle, fire was set to it and it was thrown into the hall.That was the last desperate attempt by APC agents to prevent the elections from holding. I was still determined to vote. They moved the tables outside, we lined up and eventually voted. I cast my vote and hurried home to meet my babies. Why was APC so desperate to prevent elections from holding? Did they kinda know they would loose? Na dem sabi!

DeleteLinda, you have a platform where you inform the public. You may not be a trained journalist but by virtue of running a popular blog, you need to learn to be objective in sharing information. Your reporting of the election certainly sounds very biased and that impinges on the credibility of your news outlet.
ReplyDeleteThe EU and other international observers monitored the Lagos election and did not recommend or suggest cancellation. The same neutral international observers saw the sham election in Rivers and Akwa Ibom, they obviously felt the right thing to do was cancel it. At least I believe people like you and other PDP apologists will be decent enough to admit that the EU, US, UK, AU etc can not all be working for APC. They all suggested a cancellation of Rivers election in their report. Amaechi and his party (APC) are not doing anything unconstitutional. They are going to the court of law to argue their grievances. The court should be left to play its constitutional role. After all Ayo Fayose's election was recently upheld at the Supreme court. PDP should go and defend their case in a court of law if they have nothing to fear.
Were was EU and so called international observers when the north was using under aged children to vote during presidential election? Why did they not call for cancellation? Or was there no online videos of that one too? Abeg apc should pack well. They lost in rivers QED

My friend's hubby is still at the hospital bcos he was beaten blue black at his polling unit simply bcos he voted APC which is his choice. And we have the full video which will be presented as evidence when the time comes. If the election in Rivers state was okay, y is the coalition of INEC electoral officers calling for the arrest of the Rivers REC. As stupid as PDP were, they made the rigging so obvious via their intimidation, police harrassment, etc. Y was tunde ogunsakin sudddenly transfered out of the state?if PDP was smart enough, the margin they gave demselves shouldn't have been that much. No wonder the Prof that read Rivers election result during the presidential election acknowledged he wrote the result "under special conditions"

ReplyDeleteI took my time to write how over thirty APC members were killed before and during the elections in my local government area Onelga and stated some other facts why I think we shouldn't continue our elections in Rivers State by who knows the militants or can kill more but this Linda girl/lady refused to post it. My whole family is PDP but what is bad is bad. That is the problem with us...fame gets easily into our head. Pride comes before a fall. #word

You don't strike me as a winner but a spoilt child that cries to have everything ,suggesting greed here.Your party talks against CORRUPTION and CHANGE and my question is all these election malpractice is defined as what ????The serving president accepted the result for peace and nothing more. He is the C-in C you know , if he was desperate it will be something else by now.I guess you should promote peace and accept it.
