Abia state APGA faction dumps ex Diamond Bank MD Alex Otti as gov candidate, adopts PDP’s Ikpeazu

Barely two days to the governorship elections, a faction of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Abia state have dumped the party's Governorship candidate and former MD of Diamond Bank, Dr Alex Otti & adopted the state PDP candidate Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as a consensus candidate.

At a press conference in Umuahia yesterday April 8th, the leader of the faction, Onapuruagu Prince Ukaegbu said Dr. Alex Otti (pictured) 'is not the governorship candidate of APGA in the state having obtained APGA expression of interest and nomination forms before purportedly becoming a ‘member’ of APGA”.

He added that the process leading to the emergence of Mr Otti as the party's governorship flag-bearer was not free and fair. He accused the National Leader of the party, Chief Umeh of single handedly fielding candidates for various electoral positions. However in a swift reaction, Mr Alex Otti took to his twitter handle this morning to denounce the claim by the faction.

To Abians, sorry for you all. You still want to vote PDP in, despite the state of things in Abia state. Vote Alex Otti (APGA) for the next incoming government. Your state is really backward, no iota of develop taking place or has taken place. I rest my case.

  15. The greatest problem we have in Nigeria is politics without ideology. You don't go into politics without first having an ideology; when people go in for what they will get and not the value they will add, this is the result you get: defection, anti party activities, etc.

  17. That is how we play our politics in Igboland. Kill our own regional party APGA and jump to PDP. Is it not Yorubas that help AD to grow into APC? Whether you like it or not, PDP belongs to the North owned by IBB, T.Y Danjuma and co. Igbos should wise up. Ikemba Ojukwu must be disappointed by this group of selfish people. Obi dumped APGA after APGA made him. Igbos if you want to show numerical strength in Lagos why not vote for the APGA candidate here? Because he can't share money. Ndi ara

    1. He was a bank staff as MD but was defrauding the owner trying to steal the bank
    2. He was in PDP while negotiating to buy the APGA ticket and hijack it from their candidate
    3. He said he was supporting Jonathan while working with APC to insist on card reader accreditation which sabotaged the Abia vote for Jonathan. Now he's celebrating Jonathan's loss

  36. If you have not been to Abia State in a long time do not drop stupid comments here. The bottom line remains that politicians will always chop money. If I were made a governor too, I will to some extent chop money but chop the money and still build the damn state. Theodore whatever his name is messed up Abia State. If you vote APGA be rest assured that Otti will change the state for the better. No one is saying don't chop some money but make sure you still build the state. Otti has remained a man of his word. If you can not see that Abia is down the drain, then you are ignorant. There is nothing PDP can do for Abia. Vote for change and if Otti does not deliver, vote him out. That's it!!!!!!!!!

Please enlighten the general public about ikpeazu achievement bcos I cnt find any as I'm very sure your village house in Aba is in the middle of gabbage seein d entire Abia stinks of poverty and bad leadership. He is so irrelevant. It's no news what Alex did in uplifting Diamond bank now that is jst to mention a few of his achievements. Do you know what it means to be valedictorian? Google is your friend use it. Ikepazu is no match for Alex and guess what Abians knw better and can't be bought by d so called PDP(Orji n stooge). In the meantime prepare yourself for a great defeat. Come April 11th Heaven has sealed it. Alex Otti is goin to b the next Governor. So my dear your post is the failure.
