"Today is a very sad day because this afternoon we lost three policemen to the robbery in Lekki and it was the first of its kind in a long time. And I also know that perhaps what will be would have been but it was sad to see all our security vehicles deployed to protect one man. All the vehicles we bought for the police were stationed to receive the President in Lagos while the citizens were left vulnerable. Those policemen have children. Their mothers will be have to explain to them why daddy is not coming home. May their souls rest in peace" he said. Watch the video after the cut...

Please Fashola shouldn't blame yesterdays incident on GEJ for goodness sake! regardless of who the president is, there would always be police vehicles positioned to protect him. If anything Fashola himself should take more responsibility for his failure to provide more police vehicles in the state to prevent such an event from happening! *drops mic and walks away (before all the hater come :-))*
ReplyDeleteVery truism
ReplyDeleteHe's a fool and should hide his head in shame.Lives were lost here and we need not politicize everything.Assuming without conceding that all vehicles he bought for the police were stationed to protect Jonathan that is the symbol of Nigeria, what about the vehicles that the police had before his purchase? what about the helicopters for the Marine division?
ReplyDeletePls Pls Pls lives were lost and we shouldn't politicize issues like this. He failed as a governor and should admit same as he has a duty to protect all lagosians not just the president.
FASHOLA has really lost all the respect i used to have for him....How can he blame GEJ for the robbery attack and loss of lives? Lord help us....
ReplyDeleteSir can u please stop d blame game, and concentrate on helping d families of the victims tru dis torrid tyms.. pls don't in any way try 2 play politics with lives of ppl.. and I thought a fish seller was also killed, oh her life isn't worth d mention, God have mercy on ur ppl

Fashola ok we hv heard your own side of story but don't worry the speaker of pdp FFK will respond to you soon and i believe you know him too well.
ReplyDeleteThis is sad, how could you said that mr Fashola. A little respect for President Jonathan pls. The fact that we have freedom of speech should not make us animals. your state security have failed to protect just lekki haba..!
ReplyDeletePointless maybe all d police stations was empty as well a day light robbery has been happening in Lagos long agod security system is just too porous
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely the most senseless thing i ve heard in a while. was it the president that requested that ALL policemen in the state be deploy to protect only him ? It sad that Fashola will choose to politicize this tragic incident.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry , but this his speech makes not sense...... i'm not a fan of politics, but his excuse is a stupid one. Dear mr Fash, u really need to get ur acts together jor. He is the president for fucks sake, don't act like he sent them for the robbery.
ReplyDeleteNo, No , No, Mr Fash.
ReplyDeleteApc always finding a way to blame d opposition.
ReplyDeleteFashola is becoming very daft by the day, just lost my respect for u
ReplyDeleteA leader shld take responsibility rather than channel it elsewhere. .. fashola u re a disappointment
ReplyDeletethis politicians are retards.. simply accept dat robbers came and our police engaged them in a gun battle but they managed to xcape. instead blaming it on oppostion.... this retards re taking us for granted with their stupid blaming game.... mumu fash and violent apc people............
ReplyDeleteFashola is right. When you have the entire command and control of the police worried about how the president gets from the mainland to the island how can the respond to crime. Those police vehicles were not there yesterday not like it would have made a difference but you can shut down the security of a city to protect one man.
ReplyDeleteYou are a mad fellow Fashola. God will punish you IJN
ReplyDeleteYes good luck is to also blame for the 5 days no light situation in lagos.this fashola just went from dumb to lame...your freaking under staffed, get your police officers to train n be fit for situations like this that may occur in d future....May the souls lost rest in peace....Amen.
ReplyDeleteI said it,, APC people no get sense...gov fashola wit due respect sir u r a big ewu!
ReplyDeleteIf you've seen some videos from that robbery, you would know those robbers might actually be military men! They're too organized + you have to have some kind of military training to handle some weapons i saw in those videos!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, wat we all fail 2 undastd is dat, der is plans 4 everytin, if Jonathan didn't come 2 lag yday, wat wl happen wl happen, it as bn destined 2 happen n it can never b averted. May we nt b a victim of evil destiny IJN. Way 4ward is all we need so dat such wl nt happen again. I think we now need serious n heavy security both on d land n sea now dan ever b4 cos since dat ws a success, dey or anoda group might b planing anoda operation. ReplyDeleteI am really surprised to read this from Fashola.. That's too low from a man i have so much respect for.. soo dis-appointed .. all the vehicles we bought for the state went to protect one man... thats too low.. i guess a thousand vehicles were on Pres. GEJ patrol
Have always known fashola to be smart and knowledgeable but with what he is implying here im highly disappointed. When jona was in abj and neighbourhoods in lagos were robbed, lives wasted even with all the patrol cars on ground, did the police ever come to the rescue, isnt it hours after all have been said and done that the police arrives, did he ever blame jona but because this incident coincided with jona visit, moreso in this election period, he is an easy person to put the blame on. I luv you fashola but this i say a big NO to. Infact if the patrol cars were there, im pretty sure their lives wld have been wasted or they wld run for their dear lives as their colleagues did.
ReplyDeleteI have witnessed an harrasment by hoodlums before and there was a patrol car with policemen jst few metres ahead watching. They did nothing till God just saved us. We believed they were making few cash from the hoodlums. What point im i trying to bring out - Even if all the patrol cars were stationed at the lekki incident, its their choice to engage in the battle or not. Not all policemen truly acknowledge their responsibility to protect the citizens of Nigeria. Some of them love their lives and pockets more. For some its in the reverse, rather than protecting the citizens they fustrate them. Three died attempting to do so because they were not properly trained, the others fled. Please dont easily put the blame on Jona its not cool at all.
PS: Sorry for my long epistle.
Na Wa oo!! So President GEJ must be held responsible for every bad thing happening in the Country!! smh....
ReplyDeleteThis is the height of irresponsibility, how will you play politics with people's life. so all the police officer in lagos were with GEJ. This is unfortunate coming from our honorable SAN
ReplyDeleteFashola is actually a fool.
ReplyDeleteMy people My people, don't let us politicise the robbery of yesterday. What is the meaning of Yoruba man talk too much. Let us be frank with ourselves, anytime Jonathan is around all police vehicles is always station around the route he will be passing. Whether we like or not Fashola is saying truth, this has nothing to do with politics. All this protection for one man is uncalled for.
ReplyDeleteFashola and blaming others for every misfortune., mschewwww! Poor security was the cause, simple!
ReplyDeletefashola u,re senseless for saying goodluck Jonathan is d cause of yday's robbery in lekki.all d robbery dat hv been happening in lagos nko?d one dat happened in badagry express last week nko?na buhari be d cause of dat one abi, mscheww.nonsense politicians.d fish seller dat died is not human being.
ReplyDeleteOh my Fashola! Why this! This total crap! This of course didn't come from Fashola! He must have been coaxed to say this by Tinubu! I do have a ton of respect for Fashola but obviously in the past couple of weeks it's diminishing and has hit rock bottom with this statement! Don't allow Tinubu to finish your political carrier! Come on!
ReplyDeleteFashola is very stupid to have said dt! I don't like GEJ, but must he have to blamed him for dis?, we don't even know which one to believe again. APC complain abt almost everything these days. Haha! I tire o
ReplyDeleteBonario pls shut up if u don't have anything to say. I am not a fan of GEJ but supporting that lame excuse from Fashola is very alarming and foolish. I guess u both think alike. If it was GMB am sure dat statement won't be made.
ReplyDeleteNow u pple play politics with lives too?
ReplyDeleteFashola am seriously disappointed, must you politicise the robbery? So easy to point fingers, well maybe Jonathan was in town when your brain forget to recognise the fish seller as human, when people can't eat in lagos, when the difference between lekki and ajegunle does not need a magnifying glass to see, when a robbery took place in agboju area about a week ago and people also lost lives, you have only made the rich more comfortable in lagos and yet you don't think the poor would wanna do anything to survive from the rich? Mr governor pls were have you been while nothing good happens in the local govts? you just lost the respect I had for you.
ReplyDeleteLol! APC take am easy abeg. Fashola you are better than this, dnt let this election turn you into a fool. No spoil ya good name cos of March 28.
ReplyDeleteNow u pple play politics with lives too?
ReplyDeleteMr Fashola, what about using some of the money you stole to buy more police vehicles, ammunittion, etc rather than blaming a man who had/has nothing to do with your security and how you govern your state. I respected you a lot but now you've gone too far with all your childish comments in the past. Pls Pls Pls mr Fashola, shut up!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo this bitch is trying to say that the whole police attached to Lagos island,Victoria island and Lekki were stationed to protect Good luck... C'mon man you are bigger that this shit you are dragging your self into
ReplyDeleteI lost all the respect I have for this man today, only 3 police man died? Really yoga...life of other Nigerians means nothing abi? Jonathan is the cause ? You old fools always take us to be stupid like u

ReplyDeleteNa only police people wet die get family, the fish seller and others no get family. Naija. RiP to the dead
ReplyDeleteFashola is just stating a fact. He is not playing politics. There are no less than 4 Armored vehicles in that axis on a normal day. Yesterday, because they received orders from above all of them were redeployed just to go an receive president.
ReplyDeleteI was in Oworonshoki when they drove past and counted no less than 54 cars in the convoy! If even just two of them were in Lekki as they were stationed, the robbers may hv been caught. Most of these armoured cars it is the same Fashola that provided them to the police. Not from FG money
i cant believe this is coming from fashola someone i hold with a very high esteem. God pleas help this nation
ReplyDeleteAs much as i dnt dig GEJ
ReplyDeleteI must say dis is so low of fashola
U shudnt av sir
What does he mean by that talk???? Not surprised anyway.. it's definitely going to be from him
ReplyDeleteThis kind of politics doesn't suit him, makes him look and sound incompetent as a leader. Rubbish statements.
ReplyDeleteI passed through the State House Marina about 3 p.m. yesterday and what I saw was a battalion of soldiers and some handful of policemen. So, where did Fashola get this idea from? Meanwhile, the armed robbers escaped through the waterways. Where the Marine Police involved in securing GEJ too!
ReplyDeletedis man is sick
ReplyDeleteFashola you're nothing but a Fool!!! I'm ashamed that people actually sat there and watch you deliver such a malicious speech... You're a disgrace to your family...
ReplyDeleteI wonder how old this #BONARIO NNAGS is? The President as a democrat has inalienable right to consult and meet with as many Nigerians as much as he could. To me it is better than have the illusion that you have won an election, when the contest is yet to take place.

Foolish useless men!!!
ReplyDeleteMr Fashola, why blame only GEJ. Was GMB not also in Lagos yesterday? Everything shouldnt be politicised. GMB to you is a saint abi?

Fashola is right. Jonathan is suppose to have his own police to guard him everywhere he goes and not use d state police. American president has his own set of people that guard him when he is out of state. It is very sad this has to happen
ReplyDeleteI can't help but feel dissapointed with Fashola and everything he stands for. It's sad...very sad indeed.
ReplyDeleteHow can Fashola blame his inefficiency on GEJ! He should face his government and leave APC campaigns for now.
ReplyDeleteI've got mad respect for Fashola but the statement he made... Nooo... Don't put the blame on GEJ. There has always been a lax in Security (especially in Lagos).
ReplyDeleteThe robbers escaped by water. Were the security forces on water safeguarding the president when the crime happened? The robbers wouldn't even dare use the water if we had efficient security forces patrolling the water.
U talked about the police getting killed. What of the poor innocent girl? Shouldn't we live in a society where we can be assured of our safety? But all the politicians are concerned about finding a way to bring down other political party members (APC & PDP).
Aren't these people meant to work with one another to make this country a better place? Isn't that what we as a country (especially these so called political parties)should be doing? Finding solutions together to improve the lives and conditions of the people in this country?
Irresponsible and careless talk,dirty politics

ReplyDeleteU'r very stupid for saying that! is this the first robbery attack on bank in Lagos? Stupid statement in the name of politics!!!

ReplyDeleteThere exist some sense in what the Dude is saying when you unemotionally look at it Logically. But the truth/fact still remains that Heavy Security must be adequately Deployed for any Presidential visit.
ReplyDeleteJonathan should go to Bayelsa and stop coming to Lagos to distribute stolen money. This kind of James bond robbery has not happened in a long time. Jona should not bring his badluck here abeg.
ReplyDeleteFashola mbanu !! Please dont't join the useless Nigerian politicians in the bad mouthing galore. I don't want to loose my respect for you.
ReplyDeleteThis is not the first time robbers are carrying out operations successfully in Lagos. What of the daily robbery attack and breaking of windscreens of motorists in traffic?
By the way, i thought they came with speed boat?
Human Being No Be God
I used to have a lot of respect for this guy but of late he seems not to deserve this respect and not as intelligent as I thought.
ReplyDeletethis is very dissapointing coming from fashola .. this isnt the best time to blame
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious this man call Fashola vowed not to show any respect to our president atall. but i trust FFK he will definitely give it back to you the way it will serve you right.
ReplyDeletewhere is your colleague Amaechi again? at least FFK and Fayose have thought the APC a big lesson and you all have suddenly become afraid to shit rubbish against president Jonathan as we can see it happening these days.
and i ask again, so general Buhari is now the saint who will change Nigeria for good despite his past recordsa so that is what Amaechi and Fashola want us to believe? anyway, they are after their personal interest and not for the benefit of we Nigerians.
Fashola u ave fall my hands with ur statement
ReplyDeleteYou people ranting bullshit, can't u read that all d policemen were deployed to receive ur incompetent president. ReplyDeleteSo in other wrds mr Fashola,r u saying dat if Buhari eventually wins d election, anytime he's visiting lagos, patrol vehicles shldnt be deployed..jst as every president in d wrld gets same reception..eeehh oga Fashola...???
ReplyDeleteMr Governor Sir, the fact that you hate the president doesn't mean you should disrespect the office. Take responsibility for what happened. security in Lagos sucks.
ReplyDeleteBy their actions you will know them, APC with the story story issue. So is this the first time robbers are robbing in Lagos?
ReplyDeleteI don's think Fashola spoke incorrectly. He simply stated a fact. When our president moves in Lagos, the city is shutdown and seemingly all security operatives have marching orders to service that one man. This is not the case in more developed countries.Yes security should be paramount in protecting the president, but not at the scale to which we do it here. Its the God complex all our leaders have and it has a very sad and direct impact on the common man. As Fash said, 'what may be may be' but it is also plausible, the robbers knew security would be generally light due to the police been re-purposed for presidency duty and chose to strike then!
ReplyDeleteJust my 2 cents!

Coming from u dts cheap u know..
ReplyDeleteHmmm
ReplyDeleteHmmmm word are powerful
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Fashola just said that, it's stupid of him to blame the robbery on the President. fashola is beginning to show how foolish he is to use the lives of the police lost for political campaign, from now on I lost all respect for him and he's 8yrs run in Lagos can only be based on beautifying Lagos with flowers never did he invested in the human capital.
ReplyDeleteBonario! Why do I love you?
ReplyDeleteYou just spoke my mind.
The same question I keep asking myself. Why gallivanting about the whole place if you had done what you should do as a President?
I thot an imcumbent should command much respect but with Joonathan, this is not so.
Soooo sad!
Mr. Governor, If you knew the citizenry was vulnerable, what did you do to bridge the security gap?I personally am ashamed for this statement you have made. which just goes to show that the lives of the common Lagosian means very little to the ruling class. Instead of telling us what you are doing to bring these murderers to book, you are asking us who will tell their families of their demise. Face it! it is an occupational hazzard for them and sweeping the matter under the carpet seems to be the best approach? GUY! WAKE UP! your performance has dropped seriously. The sooner you get out of bed with Tinubu the sooner you can regain your glory. Be our champion and do not be blinded by the size of "your cut".
ReplyDeleteFashola and his mumu talk.Must everything be about politics mscheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew.
ReplyDeleteBONARIO NNAGS with all due respect you are very very very very stupid for your comment instead of you to face the issue you talking about someone visiting some group. Be more objective and stop commenting like moron.
