This is from UK Metro newspaper, and according to the paper, the Nigeria economy is set to overtake UK Economy given current growth rate. Read article here
NIGERIA IS REALLY GROWING. BUT IF YOU ARE IN STATES CONTROLLED BY APC LIKE LAGOS U WONT FEEL IT. LAGOS IS VERY DIFFICULT AND UNREALISTIC TO LIVE IN. THE GOVERNMENT HAS NO HUMAN FACE.THE LEADERS ARE VERY CORRUPT AND GREEDY.
I second that Lagos is lagging behind or the govt here is hell bent on sabotaging GEJ. All other states are enjoy power and other amenities more than lagos. There's light 247 in my village. Other people are not complaining the way lagosians do.
Hw will u notice it wen hv been blinded by ur hatred for GEJ and sudden love for buhari. Infact u just lost d prestige I got on dis blogg bc of politics.
GEJ till 2023. Let them keep calling him clueless while he is laying a foundation for a great Nigeria. No wonder America is jealous. They thought if they stop buying our oil Nigeria will crumble but GEJ answered them with agric transformation. The refused to sell arms to us to fight Boko haram , our military answered them with will power. By the way they have not succeeded in Afgan or Yemen or Iraq where they have booth on ground.
Look here, this nonsense about the economy means nothing to the ordinary Nigerian----means NOTHING UNLESS IT TRANSLATES TO FOOD ON THE TABLE. They just want to have a good laugh at our expense and they want to open our eyes to the real meaning of words like Economy, GDP, wealth, etc. Your economy is better, yet the other person has a much more higher standard of living GENERALLY. Bunkum!
#smh - Wealth for the rich! Poverty growing. In most countries their presidents are treated in military hospitals, in Nigeria that can't be imagined. They won't build but will engage in dilapidation of already built. WE NEED CHANGE; VOTE BUHARI.
APC - Fans should read and forward this article to their presidential candidate. We can't understand why we should be in the 21st century and APC will still be so bold to present to Nigerians a candidate with medieval thinking and mind set. I don't understand why they should keep insulting our intelligence as a nation.
Hey Linda, Dude can't connect with the retarded article despite usin my galaxy note as the modem connected to my Alienware just ran outta GAS like an old Daimler. Still can't get a wifi connection to prob the gamin system. Now, to blindly comment on the article; all i can say is 'Fuck Em' cos ish ain't improvin or i would ve gotten my G-Wag by now. Dreams comes true Folks. Dreams comes true.
Linda, this publication and news seems fishy. I reserve my comment. Beside it does not show intellectual, compare Nigeria 4.9% GDP in 2050 to 52.2% of China in 2050 and yet it claimed "climb". What stop Nigeria from getting to 105 at least?
Haba linda. This is such a skewed report and assumption and dont forget the report says in 2050. And all the so called GDP growth, how has that transalated to making the lives of people better in Nigeria. I beg enough of this misinformation. Ethopia now has functional light rail and we are busy talking about figures that mean nothing
Story for the god! PDP propaganda again! The economy is climbing, and people are suffering, I can't even do business again because of the hike in dollar rate, my friends have been writing applications for years, no job still. Yet our economy will soon surpass dat of UK, if the ordinary Nigerian doesn't feel the impact, what's the use of dis crap new! Let's stop Fooling ourselves pls, GEJ has failed period!

interesting. nigeria knocking off U.k from number 10 in 2050? now thats growth. As much as i don't like GEJ's slothfulness towards the insecurity facing the nation, i think he should be commended for our current GDP. amidst the whole caos, we still fit step up like this? not bad.
Lindy, are you just seeing this one? Reno posted it on twitter long ago. Oya, Libers, let us discuss if this is just luck or if it is Jonah's work. There is a reason why the ruling elite, i.e. Tinubu, Atiku, OBJ want Jonathan's head. He is about to upend their asses and stop them from profiting incessantly. For those saying the economy aint working, let us discuss. Abi are you going to say Jonathan bribed the newspaper to say this? Smeh smeh people
Until then let me stay here in London where I have a better life, food is cheap, my kids go to good school, 24hrs power supply, no armed robbery... 2050 is is way off my time.
Bollocks! Anyway Nigerians will be very willing to hire out our economic managers to UK to stop their slide. Reputable technocrats like Diezani, Oteh, Okonjo, Odua, Bala Mohd etc should, as a matter of urgency, be sent over to provide a quick fix. Tom Polo will follow later to secure their waterways against smugglers and refugees. Nonsense!

Which Economy is climbing, mtchhhhh , the rebased GDP is what is written by the present administration to make it look as if they were doing good, how can u say an economy is growing when the standard of living of a greater % of the population is low, when unemployment is so high, when our currency is depreciating by day, when inflation is high even with the high rate of unemployment,(bc the two a suppoed to v inverse rlationship in the real sense,). What does Nigeria export, oil, the price in the international mrk has fallen so how is the economy climbing. Anyway the rebased GDP is only for a sellected few in Nigeria (elite).
Yes Nigeria cos we have more people looting our treasury while the over 100M people rot in poverty and become refugees in Chad and Niger Republic. Its a sad one linda....and a big shame.
I pity UK, i said it about 2 months ago, that the rate which the citizen allow their leaders to leads them, UK will one day become the poorest country in the world, mark my words, it is going to happen soon unless the citizen stands up and say NO to the islamilization of their country.

LOST "i go collect everybody statement for this matter" was the first thing Okoro had to say. The store manager told him the little he could, as Dabota could not put her words into coherent sentences. "Madam all this cry wey u dey cry no go carry your pikin come out o. make you cooperate with me" Okoro said, sizing her up. " my daughter is missing. We all know this is a lie. Some desperadoes in government keep bribing the media houses to write positive report on our economy. Let us stop fooling ourselves. Our economy is not impacting positively on businesses and the masses as a whole. Exchange rate is killing. Prices are going up. This is a big fat LIE.
The stick market is in shambles. Naira is a wreck, emefiele is a stooge. Exchange rate is killing, one million naira can not buy 3k pounds and they write this rubbish. Enough of this lies.
CNN,BBC,FINANCIAL TIME,EU AND UK HAVE DONE THEIR SURVEY AND REPORTED THE GROWTH AND PROGRESS OF NIGERIA ECONOMY, MY QUESTION IS WHAT IS APC REPORT THAT WE ARE NOT DOING WELL COMING FROM? NO MATTER HOW WE OPPOSE A GOVT, WE SHOULD APPRECIATE WHEN WE NEED TO.
ALL APC DOES IS FEED NIGERIANS WITH LIES AND SPREAD THEIR FALSEHOOD AND PROPAGANDA THROUGH THEIR MEDIA JOUNALIST
I laugh, how? GEJ has gone 2 bribe dis pple 2 write sumtin nice 4 him. I'm disappointed. They shld come n live in nigeria 4 one wk 2 find out wat they r saying. Its not by wat is written in a book, come n feel d economy urself.
So on one sunday afternoon in 2014, our (Nigeria's) GDP suddenly overtook that of South Africa. But who is really laughing? The statistic has no bearing on the standard of living or quality of life of the citizenry. Poverty is at 60%. Unemployment and under-employment nko? The cheapest mass housing units cost at least N5m/unit (for a one- bedroom apartment in ikorodu!) and you have to make a 30% down payment. Where will Mama Kafaya get this kind of money from abi does the government not have her in mind? I saw a campaign ad along airport road touting this 'GDP rebasing exercise' as an accomplishment by Jonathan's government. SMH! We still have the third largest number of poor people in the world! This election thing puts one between a rock and a hard place. .
All these Erats and mosquitoes, how has the economy impacted on your negative lives. Ya all still come here to beg Linda for freebies and you keep saying GEJ is working. Wait until you are not able to buy data for our china phones. Oshisko. Our economy has simply crumbled. Campaign gimmick.
Wow, this my presidooo, bicoz he didn't pave way for those around him to steal money they are all seeking for a way to impeach, castigate, and propaganda I don't even mind if my English is right or wrong but wanna express it the way it is in my mind, UPGEJ 2019 God dey but I need job in asorock
All these conflicting reports. How are we growing when the economy is getting worse?

ReplyDeleteSo on one sunday afternoon in 2014, our (Nigeria's) GDP suddenly overtook that of South Africa. This election thing puts one between a rock and a hard place. .
ReplyDeleteHow? Can someone explain
