On February 12th 2015, four days after
a three day research visit to several Internally Displaced Nigerians camps in
Gombe, Body Enhancement Foundation returned to rent houses, donate sewing
machines, cap knitting kits, cloth knitting machines, new fabrics for trading,
groundnut production items, monies to start businesses, and cartons of Indomie
noodles to displaced women at the Wuro-Juli in Akko LGA and The Federal Low-cost
Mini (Intercessors For Nigeria) camps, Gombe.
They also gave toys to the children, and clothes
to the families, which translated to over 1,000 people benefiting from their
benevolence. The equipment, tools and businesses sponsored were based on what
the internally displaced women informed the organization they were capable of
doing to become self-sufficient again.
According to Modupe Ozolua, to properly rehabilitate fellow brothers and sisters that were fortunate to escape with their lives; firstly, they need permanent shelter, then means to earn a living to take care of themselves and their families. With these in place, they will be able to regain their dignity and re-integrate back into society.
Ozolua also stated that she is aware the men need jobs too, but in most homes, its the woman's responsibility to feed her children; that's why the foundation's empowerment program is targeted at helping displaced women.
The foundation has pledged pay for skills
acquisition classes for displaced women without money making skills and
promises to give them all necessary equipment needed to start their own
businesses if they pass their classes. Ozolua thanked the Gombe State
government and SEMA office for assisting the internally displaced Nigerians in
their state and ensuring their program was successful.
Body Enhancement Foundation plans on
rehabilitating more displaced women in camps within all host states.

ReplyDelete:::::::::::::::::::::QUEENMAYA:::::::::::::::::
That's really nice.
ReplyDeleteThis is what our rich, our stars are suppose to be doing instead of prostituting with politicians.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, whether we like it or not, as far as Nigeria continues to exists, we are one and what we need do is try to erase the lines of differences (whether religion or tribe) and find a way to coexist. It's a continuous journey.
Shame, Jonathan has failed woefully in this aspect. All he does is make Christians feel they are different and superior and the Muslims seething with hatred. That is a major failure on his side. It's just like American president making blacks feel they are inferior to whites.
Back to the discourse, Modupe is doing something great, where our stars, rich and politicians have failed.
God bless Nigeria

ReplyDeleteEyah God bless you ma.
ReplyDeleteEhyahhh. She really tried. God bless her generous heart.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteGod bless her, but believe me there still people who think she is an infidel and shouldn't be mixing with 'their people' and corrupting them just because she prays differently.
ReplyDeleteReally really good, thank you Modupe. May the Good Lord bless your generous heart and the lives of all who have contributed to improving the condition of these internally displaced persons.
ReplyDeleteMay God bless you modupe, you shall never lack as for some low thinking fools that call themselves celebs #bebusybuyingcars #youshallnotliveforever.
ReplyDeleteAbeggy...am sure this is only peanuts from the million dollars she has received from developed countries/organization as aid...people yes she's helping but she has no choice ....but she isn't spending 1% of what she has received!!
ReplyDeleteDon't say rubbish about what you dont know anything about!! My name is Desmond and i am the tall man in the picture with her. I have worked with her for over 8years and i know for a fact that every penny she spent on the Gombe project was HER PERSONAL MONEY!!
DeleteWe were all together in Gombe less than a week before we went back to rehabilitate the people. She refused to wait for sponsors when the displaced people told us people come and take their pictures to collect money and never return to help them.
She immediately promised we will come back in 4 days to pay their rent and sponsor businesses for them.
We all stayed in her house in Abuja. We went with her to the bank to withdraw all the money she budgeted for them. This is what she does every time. Regardless of sponsorship or not, for every charity project she personally sponsors over 60% of the value of the program!!
Investing in helping the poor is what makes her happy and she has been doing this since 2003!!
So stop saying spreading lies and trying to discredit this woman!!! If i'm lying, produce proof the sponsors you claim she collected money from!
Thank God somebody should be helping
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS YOU
