Buhari once again declines presidential debate organized by Channels TV, Arise TV and NPAN

APC Presidential candidate Gen. Buhari has declined the invitation to attend a presidential debate organized by Channels TV in conjunction with the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria, NPAN and Arise TV, which was supposed to hold tomorrow February 3rd.

Speaking on Channels TV this morning, the APC Director of strategy, Dele Alake, said Buhari will not be attending the debate because their party believes some media organizations have been compromised. He said that they can not vouch for the independence of some organizers of the debate but refused to he disclose those that he claims have been compromised.

    3. You're so dumb! Hitherto I thought you were a smart guy. If your "baba" is sure of himself even if the debate is organised by PDP he should be able to answer whatever question that's gonna be fielded to him. At the end of the day if he wins (which seems most unlikely now) he's not gonna be a president for APC., but a president for all nigerians. A president should be all rounded and grounded in all matters pertaining to the state. Even if the platforms are biased, they are gonna ask him questions pertaining to the country called Nigeria and pertaining to himself! So what's the big deal about it! Are they gonna ask him about Zimbabwe or Australia! It's about the country he wants to lead for petes sake! What's the rant about bias here! He lacks confidence and he's got skeletons he's desperately trying to hide!

Buhari is a failure and APC must be very wicked to present this illiterate to Rule millions of graduate in the country. 67. What I have observed is that the opposition to Jonathan is not driven by expectations of Buhari's competence but rather by hatred or should I say, anti-pathy to Jonathan. That can be dangerous because then you are completely blinded to the shortcomings of the opposing candidate and would most likely jump from frying pan to fire. Buhari has severally been accused of arrogance and this refusal to debate underlines that view. Where in the world would you see an opposition candidate shunning a debate that should be a good opportnity to floor an unperforming incumbent? I am really worried for Nigeria.

Now you all have turn and are clamouring for change. Yes agreed we all would like to see CHANGE but at what cost? Ask yourselves what exactly is BUHARI shying away from isn't this the best time to slay GEJ as they have always done during campaigns? For me, BUHARI dodging ELECTION DEBATES is an indication that this man lacks nothing to offer NIGERIANS. I read alot of comments on LIB and I'm like we Nigerians don't even know the kind of change we want or seek. God bless Nigeria and May He give us worthy leaders.

  80. Can someone please tell the APC to organise a debate and invite PDP? We Nigerians need to hear these guys debate each other before we hire any of them as our president for the next four years.

  89. haba! whether they suspect it has been compromised or not, he should be able to participate, speak up and sell his plan to Nigerians. this is beginning to look VERY suspicious right now, wetin?

if the process has been compromised he will even swing some undecided voters his way because this will be a televised debate and Nigeria will be watching.

  90. BUHARI,BUHARI, BUHARI. How many times did i call you. Other people are collecting Certificates for participating in election debate. The election debate certificate you have(2011) is kindergarten certificate. Now the stakes are high now. Show yourself for debate and also collect certificate. Dont repeat what you did in 1962 where you no collect certificate even though you said you went to schOol

  97. At this level of our politics. Debate should be mandatory. Well, I guess on their apc rallies he has explained his agenda. Point is: we need to hear from him and how he's gonna bring change

  98. My dear brothers and Sisters. United we would all stand. We have tried Jonathan, he's done somethings but we all expected more. But are has come to say he would bring about change. Which change is he talking about wen he can't come and face we the Citizens to debate and tell us how he wants to do it. My expect our leaders to do much more for us but not BUHAR. Let us all not be DECEIVED. BUHAR IS OBVIOUSLY NOT THE ANSWER. THIS IS A GAME CHANGE FOR ME. I would rather vote for one I have tested than a Man that can't express himself, very unintellectual, not eloquent and claims he wants to do heaven and earth, whereby he can't come out to a Debate. Pls my dear brothers and Sisters BUHARI is not the ANSWER even if we need change OBVIOUSLY NOT BUHARI.GOD help NIGERIA Amen.

  99. Jonathan can speak english and can face any debate yet Nigeria is where it is now. Bro n sis no beby English language n PhD cert. We need someone that will be bold enof to make decisions and have the interest of Nigerians at heart and if you ask me GMB is far better than gej whom fortunately has ruled for 6yrs with nothing to show for it. Girls still missing, no power supply yet, Mr PhD holder was unable to transform our educational sector yet he is a PhD holder

  107. Oh I weep for my dear country Nigeria, it's surprising that even in the 21st century youths majority of whom are graduates will shout change, and blindly say Buhari is the change we desire. A country that people have lost their right mindset on fair judgement, a country that the masses have been brainwashed by a so called party that stands for change. The question every reasonable Nigerian should ask is what change does the APC stand for? With careful and proper thought devoid of sentiment, it's obvious that APC as a party is made up of corrupt elements seeking any means possible to take over power. A party that it's national leader/party owner Bola Tinubu is the corruption himself,Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi etc. These men don't wish well for Nigeria as a country, they are set out to crumble this country and enrich themselves and to spread hatred and religion segregation. Presenting Muhamed Buhari to front their evil agender is another wicked decision the party took, if truly APC wish Nigeria a better change, they would have presented a reasonable and enlightened candidate to rule Nigeria. For those that were born when Buhari was in power, they know how wicked and tyrannical he was, Buhari is still the tyrant he's, nothing has changed about him. His refusal to attend the debate shows he does not respect Nigerians, and to let us know if he's voted into power nobody's opinion will matter to him. Voting Buhari into power will also endanger freedom of worship and association, because Buhari is a religion fanatic that believes Islam is the only religion, my dear Nigerians be wise. Everyone is entitled to believe and worship whoever or whatever he wants. Don't vote a man that will kill you if you don't worship his god. Buhari is also an agent of violence and destruction, this is evident in his constant support for Boko Haram directly and otherwise. A man that vowed to make GEJ's government ungovernable if he fails, we can all attest to his fulfilment of that promise with his Boko Haram Army. Nigerians be wise, a vote for Buhari is a vote for backwardness and tyranny. GEJ still remains the best for now, Buhari is the wrongest person to vote for. To the hausas and muslims, please don't vote because of religion, vote for a peaceful and loving Nigeria.

  108. all ye daft that are saying he has right and it does not matter, u simply say a man should come and rule u without telling what he has for u. by the way what do u guys understand about the debate? is it exam or some school test? we all watch the vice presidential debate and same questions where replicated to all candidates in each section, so what Buhari and and APC problem, just to tell Nigerians that you want to change what you have and how you plan to achieve it.
