APC reacts to election shift, says it's “highly provocative”

A press statement from APC...
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has just heard over the news media that The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has decided to postpone the elections by six weeks on the strength of a letter by the security chiefs that they cannot provide security for the elections nationwide because of the commitment of its resources to fight insurgency in the north eastern part of the country.
This is clearly a major setback for Nigerian democracy, and our Party is meeting in emergency session to study its implications and will inform Nigerians of its decisions in the next few days.
In the meantime, though what has happened is highly provocative, I strongly appeal to all Nigerians to remain calm and desist from violence and any activity which will compound this unfortunate development. We must not fall into this obvious trap. Change we must. They can only delay it; No one can stop it.

I want to assure all Nigerians that the All Progressives Congress will not abandon its commitment to change and will sustain the struggle to establish a new Nigeria.

John E. K. Odigie-Oyegun. CON.
National Chairman, APC

  103. If after 6weeks, victory is not still guaranteed for the PDP, the last stunt will be to pretentively hand over to their cronies in the Nigerian military (in a staged coup / interim govt), than suffer a humiliating defeat in the hand of APC at the polls. I suspect we haven't seen PDP's last stunts yet.

  104. I wonder why APC is worked up. The postponement has nothing to do with any party. In fact , it is to the advantage of all parties. Who told APC that they will win the election? People are changing their minds everyday. Let's stop all the noise making. Personally, I would have love to see the election come and gone, but the reasons given for the cancellation is valid and should be seen in that light. APC please let Nigeria be ooooooooooo.

Pls use ur brain dats why God gave it to you!!!

  108. ‪#‎FailBuhari‬, postponed, and transformed to ‪#‎MarchBuhariDown‬.

    Reasons:-

APC cloned the Ballot Papers for next week election, having been exposed to INEC database by some enemies within. And they massively planned a rigging that would shock the world by leaving the Anointed GEJ, who had vowed to deliver a free and fair Election, with a minimal number of votes.

That is why APC has been clamoring for early election, irrespective of the glaring irregularities and shortcomings of Jega led INEC.

They also systematically deleted majority of Christians from the INEC Database, so no PVC for Christians.

They are also using their Boko Boys to keep the Nigerian Army busy in the core North, so they can't come in to secure you and your votes, being fully in the know that their rigging machines were rendered ineffective in Ekiti, by the Military.

Underage voters were registered in the North to give them undue advantage against the other regions.

The APC have also been raising fears among the none indigenes resident in the North, who are to aid in giving GEJ the statutory 25% votes required across the board. The Igbos and others are now fleeing the North.

All these evil machinations are making them to be too sure of a win, while hitting their chest and pushing for next week vote.

Tibubu and his puppy (Buhari) knew they have scandalously lost the election to the postponement. They would have rigged themselves into power on Saturday, even though he is statutorily barred for lack of basic academic qualifications.

So, all the plans to rig with "integrity", has failed!

The whole plan to dodge the presentation of his certificate , has failed!

The whole plans to dodge the presidential debate has failed!

Now it's no longer ‪#‎FeBuhari‬, we must #MarchBuhariToHell

  110. my question is, y is it that APC is comfortable with February 14, despite serious challenges INEC is facing which ll obviously compromise free, fair n acceptable election, and APC r aware of this.. may b if INEC change the date it ll affect their clone pvc. jiga iswiser than this desperate apc

  112. APC is always taking things personal. I am not good with these people. YOU WANT PEOPLE TO VOTE EVEN IF IT IS TO RISK THEIR OWN LIFE FOR YOU TO GAIN VOTE. APC doesn't care about Nigerians, they care about their votes. APC is attached to youths in order to gain their votes. They are more eager to gain your vote than your security. APC doesn't care if 1 million die in north... All they do is to Sponsor SAHARA REPORTERS to be brainwashing low IQ Nigerians. APC exploits the fears of Nigerians and Insurgency attacks to gain ground. We Know JIMI AGBAJE and we know Jonathan... That's all. If you like bomb everywhere generate more hates against GEJ. BUHARI is a failure. His karma are so fast. The Karma of aborting the first democracy in Nigeria didn't allow him rule as he wished, Babaginda took over. Now he is back to same democracy he threw into dust bin first time it came up acting like an angel of change. Buhari we know you, and Karma won't let you live up to your expectation.

  117. 10 Things Buhari and the APC don’t want you to know:

    Buhari-military-uniform.jpg1. He overthrew democracy

Buhari claims to respect democracy, however in 1983 he overthrew the civilian government and put in place his own harsh, military regime.

    2. He indiscriminately arrested and detained opponents and tortured and executed prisoners

Buhari's brutal crackdown began with Decree No. 2 of 1984, which allowed Buhari's chief of staff to arrest and detain anyone indefinitely without trial. When Buhari was overthrown in 1985, the Inspector-General of the Police opened the prison doors on national television, revealing people, many of them torture victims, in various stages of malnutrition. Buhari used retroactive laws to impose death sentences and expelled hundreds of thousands of foreigners who had migrated to Nigeria.

    3. He ended press freedom and arrested journalists and artists

After seizing power, Buhari announced a decree that made the publication of “critical articles” a crime. He used the decree to jail many journalists, including Tunde Thompson and Nduka Irabo. He didn’t stop with journalists, also jailing prominent artists such as Fela Kuti.

    4. He failed to fight corruption, despite brutal tactics

Buhari claims to be an anti-corruption crusader. However, as head of state he failed to curb corruption in the country. He implemented a “war against indiscipline,” which was carried to “sadistic levels, glorying in the humiliation of a people,” wrote the Nobel laureate and writer Wole Soyinka. Buhari forced civil servants, even older ones, to perform frog jumps if they were late for work, and ordered the “notoriously unruly Nigerians” to form neat queues at bus stops, under the sharp eyes of whip-wielding soldiers. Despite his brutal tactics, corruption was not curbed under his rule.

    5. He destroyed Nigeria’s economy

In the name of curbing imports and fighting corruption, Buhari implemented policies that led to countless job losses and the closure of businesses. He ordered that the currency be replaced, forcing all holders of old notes to exchange them at banks within a limited period. Prices rose and living standards fell sharply.

    6. Billions went missing under his watch

When Buhari served as chairman of the notoriously corrupt Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) under Olusegun Obasanjo, $2.8 billion in oil revenue went missing under his watch. When the Federal Government attempted to investigate his complicity, the principal witness who was set to release evidence to implicate Buhari died in mysterious circumstances.

    7. His record was so poor that he was removed from power

After just 20 months of brutal rule, driven by a sharp fall in living standards and criticisms over human rights abuses, Buhari was removed from power in a coup led by General Ibrahim Babangida.

    8. He would rather divide Nigerians by region and religion than unite them

During Buhari’s rule, he was unapologetically northern. He made no attempt to balance his government, which was the only regime in Nigeria’s history headed by two Northerners. He declared that Muslims should vote only for Muslims and became an advocate for implementation of Sharia all over Nigeria.

    9. He incited violence following his failure to win the 2011 election

Buhari's inflammatory statements following his loss in the 2011 presidential elections incited widespread violence in the North. His supporters went on a rampage, looting and killing, despite an international consensus that the elections were judged the most free and fair in Nigeria's history. All told, over 800 people were killed and some 65,000 displaced during the post-election violence. Buhari later told loyalists, “If what happened in 2011 should again happen in 2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood”.

    10. A petition has been filed against him in the International Criminal Court (ICC)

In December 2014 a petition was filed with the Prosecutor of the Inter
