-it causes your neighbor to feel his beliefs are being scorned at and undermined?
-it causes your neighbor to feel his God and faith are being insulted?
- it causes your neighbor to react in a way that bludgeons the hitherto peaceful harmony between you and him?
- it causes your neighbor to be driven to the precipice of jettisoning the sympathy with Charlie Hebdo victims and joining sympathy with extremism?
-it causes your neighbor to actually spark off protests thereby causing more unrest and deaths as is currently going on in Pakistan and Niger?
I really don't think so and I agree with the Pope! As much as I sympathize with #jesuischarlie and condemn all forms of violence and religious extremism, on the flip side i also believe in the mutual respect of the other person's faith and beliefs.
In the light of this, Charlie Hebdo and every other people bent on insulting religions should be asked to exercise caution and respect as they exercise their freedom of speech and not to drive fragile peaceful coexistence into more bloodshed and anarchy. I believe the assassinated editors wherever they are would smile more on acts tailored to bring peace to the world than the opposite.
