Photos: Ethiopian aircraft crash lands at Ghana airport

An Ethiopian airline cargo aircraft traveling from Lome, Togo to Accra Ghana this morning skidded off the runway as it arrived the Kotoka Airport in Ghana. According to a press statement by Ghanaian aviation authorities, the three crew members survived the crash and are currently receiving treatment at the 37 military hospital.

The reason for the accident has not been stated but eye-witnesses said bad weather could be a contributing factor. More pics after the cut...

  35. As an aviation enthusiast I think the cargo was not securely fastened and shifted to the back of the plane causing an accident.

  39. Uhmm where exactly did this happen. Flew into and out of accra day before yesterday. Not as a passenger so you cant say i didnt have a view of the whole airfield. Might wanna check with the authorities. And it couldnt have been moved because regulations don't allowed the crash site to be touched until all fact and possible causes have been ascertained. Also the airport will be closed to all incoming and outgoing traffic till all debris is cleared
