Nigerian soldier rants on twitter over poor welfare and weapons

A Nigerian soldier serving in Borno state took to his twitter account to express his anger over poor welfare and weapons given to Nigerian soldiers who are currently at war with Boko Haram members. He also called out the Nigerian Defence spokesperon, Gen. Olukolade. See the tweets after the cut...

    1. And how do you propose they do that? Knock on his bedroom door? GEJ is not fit for purpose. Nigeria at the moment is so far behind where it should be. Our country has been running backwards since Obj left office but because we measure our status by phones and cars we remain clueless.
No one can name a single aspect of advancement by this government. If GEJ remains in power Nigeria will collapse into the status of God forsaken African nations like Congo.

  18. Since 2011, I have told Nigerians that every minute spent by GEJ in Aso Rock is time wasted for Nigeria. By the time he finishes with this country, he would have taken the country back by 120 years. 39. we just like talking, do u really think a soldier will do this...it is true they are suffering but if GEJ approves the release of weapons for their use, is it not possible that some forces underneath limits the access of this weapons in order to fuel this insurgency and give false reports that the weapons have been deployed just like when money is been released for projects and welfare of civil servants, some people sit on this monies. is the president going to approve release of weapons and at the same time take it to the soldiers. what happens in between is what we should be bothered about. that will probably give answers to most of the unanswered questions. that is how intelligence works not by talking. ask questions and make findings.

    thank you

  83. This is not a soldier APC playing politics. Funds have since been approved to buy weapons for the Nigerian Army.

it is painful to see south-south and Christians selling themselves for power.

    lets ask ourselves these questions?
    why are boko haram killing
    ANS:
Jonathan is an infidel (i.e being a christian makes him an infidel)

they want Sharia and do not want western Education.

The main reason for boko haram is to frustrate Jonathan's reign as president.

Buhari comes into power their Aim has been achieved and boko haram will stop the killing.

if Jonathan had arrested Buhari when made those statements of blood and monkeys.....we would have been at war by now. because his radical loyalist would have come out hard. if this buhari really loves Nigeria why cant he work hand in hand with our president to ensure peace reigns in the north.

Mandela preached peace even when he was not the president. lets take a stand for Nigeria i am not saying Jonathan is awesome am only saying General Buahri is not and will not be the right man for our dear country Nigeria. Jonathan was willing to grant amnesty to terrorist it has never happened in world history and yet they didn't take it. he built almanjiri schools for this same northerners how many Northerner leaders in time past built christian schools.

he has since been trying to create a bridge between Christians and Muslims he made them feel like power never left the north.

  107. The condition in which these soldiers have found themselves can least be described as horrible and apalling, and people in their comfort zone are calling their complains fake or unprofessional. There are limits which humans can bear, soldier or non-soldier. God forbid that this issue split the Nigerian army into factions, then Nigerians will know that mutiny is a childs play compared to what will ensue. There are examples of spliting and fighting between factions of a National army around the world. A stitch in time saves nine, they say.
