Buhari will not participate in BON presidential debate - APC

APC says it's presidential candidate Gen Buhari will not be participating in the presidential debate being organized by the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria BON and the Nigeria Election Debate Group (NEDG) .

In a statement released today January 29th by Garna Shehu, the Director, Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO), they said Buhari will not be participating in the debate as the composition of those organizing the debate was mainly of agencies and allies of the incumbent People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) administration. Continue...

The statement reads in part;
“A cursory inspection of the composition of NEGD brings into focus the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), National Television Authority (NTA), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the Africa Independent Television (AIT, owned by a PDP chieftain). And going by the avalanche of inflammatory statements, misinformation and blatant lies being propagated by some of these media against our Party and candidates contrary to the Kofi Annan brokered Abuja Peace Accord, and the failure of these aggressors to desist and apologise, have left the APC Campaign with no option than to steer clear of any premeditated smear campaign that could be inimical to our prospective electoral success,” .

    1. I support APC 110% on dis. We don't want a party to be at the mercy of d other, after rehearsing all the questions n answers n giving pdp undue advantage over APC. it's another typical example of the hogwash n mediocre presidential media chat.

Nigerians are not fools to vote just like that for no reason anymore, you have to have something concrete to offer the nation. APC shld consider the move, that is not a wise one.

  53. I don't think the APC should boycot the debates as we are looking foward to a robust debate anyways. The last time out we were denied by preaident Jonathan and his party. Today APC now. What the AIT showed however shows that some things needs to be explained to Nigerians by GMB bordering on happenings during his time as head of state. However we need to have the candidates discuss issues and not attack personalities like the adverts and write ups have been doing

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm in support of that.BON is sympathetic to the political party in power as such i dont expect a fair debate. The polity is heated up as it is,we dont need unnecessary biased debate.

    ReplyDelete
  55. It's unfortunate. Once again, Nigerians are being denied the opportunity of having a preview of General Buhari's mind. I suspected this would happen when a friend speculated and I am sad that APC proved him right. This goes a long way to confirm our concern that General Buhari does not have a robust mind, knows nothing about the key today issues in running a government, and cannot have an impressive discussion on governance. I am truly sad and angry that we will not be allowed to assess the candidate to have a feel of the CHANGE he promises, and yet we are being asked to vote for him. I hope GEJ handlers allows him to participate in the debate or dodge it as usual.

    2. Your ignorance shows how stupid you are. So Buhari represents the future of Nigeria to you? I'm not surprised that Buhari has really blinded your eyes with his celebration of insurgency which he created to make GEJ's government ungorvernoble. Apart from the Boko Haram Buhari created, what else has he told Nigerians he will solve when he assumes office? I wonder why some youths are so daft to believe APC represents change, if they truly represent change they would have presented Fashola to Nigerians,or Rochas Okorocha, but because the wish Nigeria evil they brought GEJ a wicked man as their presidential candidate. To HELL with all the daft blind people supporting Buhari. Balaxy say so!!!

  93. I don't believe the debate will be a fair one. I believe the panel was constituted to discredit Buhari. And for those that think that Buhari is olodo, they have not met GEJ yet! No one is as clueless and ignorant as he is. His wife just buttresses the point!

  94. I support APC 110% on dis. We don't want a party to be at the mercy of d other, after rehearsing all the questions n answers n giving pdp undue advantage over APC. Another typical example of the presidential media chat on NTA. It's all hogwash debate.

  101. I can see a lot of ignorant and clueless people siding with the opposition on their flimsy excuse. Debate is no quizzes nor is it questions and answers, it's you coming to tell Nigerians what you are made up of and have to offer. Besides, the Nigeria people are the judge not the organisers, so where are these excuse coming from.

  102. Wow! What a shame. A presidential candidate avoiding debate. The man has very poor English speaking skills and his handlers know he will crumble after five minutes. Why is this man relevant in 2015. It is a joke and can only happen in Nigeria. A front runner in the presidential race playing hide and seek with certificate and debate. This is a disgrace.

  104. This shows how irresponsible APC as a party is, so Buhari don't want to participate in the presidential debate because he does not have any reasonable thing apart from preaching Boko Haram. Only daft Nigerians will vote for a man that does not want to attend the presidential rally. Buhari better park well and fly to HELL. APC are fully aware Buhari does not have the intellectual capacity to rule the 21st century Nigeria, the country was dominated with illiterates when Buhari ruled as head of state, the reverse is the case today. Tinubu and the criminal APC just want to use Buhari to achieve their selfish intrest, knowing he's like going to die in office so power can go back to the yorubas. Nigerians better be wise,if Buhari does not have anything in his brain to participate in the debate then he should also not participate in the elections. They do presidential debate in every country,so Buhari who happens to be an aspirant should not be immune to such important debate. Wise up Nigerians,Buhari does not have the qualities of a leader,he's best known for his military dictatorship. GEJ remains the best for now, Failbuhari can go to HELL!!! Balaxy say so!!!

  105. some of you supporting both GEJ and BUHARI will still be those to condemn them after a year in the office. just because of a bag of rice and 5000 naira you will sing praises and then suffer the next 4years. they are promising heaven on earth now just to get votes. left for me both men should go and rest and lets try an unknown guy to rule not when we put our trust in the so called big guns they end up showing they are not capable. abeg make una vote me abeg, na just 4 years i want oooo

    How?
    With what?
    Nama or suya ?
Cannot even approach Cambridge and give them the authorization they need to release your official result then you chicken out of presidential debate under flimsy reasons
Tells you how intelligent this man is
The man is not fit to run a poultry
    I am sorry
    HE is too old
    He is uneducated
    He is inexperienced
    Cannot think on his feet
Has no plans and is absolutely clueless
Calling a forty sumtin year old dictator in 1983 a 73 year old savior in 2015 is sheer madness

  121. Most broadcast cooperation must obey the Government in Power.
The risk of non-compliance includes revocation of license and worst. depending on the government's level of desperation.
AIT just fell in, compliance benefits their bottom line which is facilitated through corruption and intimidation.
The present ruling party desperately seeks an edge by hook or by crook.
Pre June 12 debate did not have an incumbent government in place to rig the process and the subsequent election.
This is not the case with the present desperate crops backed by coward, war threatening, overnight billionaires, who still use the term militants in their "title" for protection from their disenfranchised colleagues and fellow citizens.

Is Akinwunmi Ambode of lagos state also haaving reason for refusing to appear at Chennels t.v for an interview? Let APC should stop deceiving buhari and their blind supporters, buhari is sick and I can bet he can't rule this country for a year successfully let alone 4 years. The change they all clamour for is just an ordinary phrase they can't justify themselves.
