It is with a heavy heart and sadness that we received the news of the untimely death of a citizen of Nigeria in Dubai, Mr.Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha. It is particularly painful to note that he died in his prime and under questionable circumstances. We send our heartfelt condolence to the Alamieyeseigha family and pray that God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
However, we note the
swiftness with which the Federal Government responded to this sad and painful
news with a call on the U.A.E authorities to fish out the killers of Mr. Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha.
However, whilst this action
of the Federal Government is commendable, it smacks of double standards. Recall
that on 15th of February, 2014, Toba (Tyler) Falode was also
murdered in hazy circumstances in Dubai. Recall also that the mother, Aisha
Falode took it upon herself to carry out some discreet investigation into those
circumstances and has since been crying out for justice for her son. Up till
this minute, the Federal Government has not issued a single statement calling
on the U.A.E authorities to fish out the killers of Toba Falode. The Federal
Government has played the ostrich in the case of Toba, leaving the mother and
family grieving alone. The question is, with the swift response in the case of Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha,
does the Federal Government value the lives of some of its citizens more than
others?
More importantly, it must be
said that it is the lukewarm attitude of the Federal Government towards the
earlier cases of Nigerians murdered abroad like the case of Toba that has
emboldened foreigners in foreign lands to snuff the lives out of Nigerians
without any qualms. If the Federal Government had shown more interest in the
case of Toba, perhaps the precious life of Mr. Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseighawould have
been saved.
We hope this is a bitter lesson
to the Federal Government and we hereby re-iterate our call on the Federal
Government to show more interest in the quest to find the killers of Toba
Falode and bring them to justice.
Thank you.
FESTUS
KEYAMO, ESQ.

ReplyDeleteWished the presidency responded with such swiftness when Aisha Falode's son was murdered.
ReplyDeleteBut she's not a PDP stalwart and a friend to the president.
Many innocent Nigerians are languishing in prisons all over the world, but their cries for help has fallen on deaf ears.
The life of every Nigerian should be considered precious to our govt.
~BONARIO~says so via NOKIA LUMIA
True talk..it's high time Federal Government should fight for the lives of Nigeria mudered abroad.

ReplyDeleteClick my name for fashion and styles.
So sad the government didn't take any action on Aisha falode son toba. This goes to show that everything the govt does is based on paddy paddy things..So sad we nigerians are now relegated to the state of nature, where the life of man, is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short.
ReplyDeleteWell written.. I wonder what kind of heartless government we have in Nigeria. Once u r not close to them, u can die a million times for all they care. Selective caring is the order of the day.. All we have in this country is government for those in government and not government for the people.
ReplyDeletesorry ooo
ReplyDelete"does the Federal Government value the lives of some of its citizens more than others?".... @DIDI_JONAH
ReplyDeletedid I coment first?
ReplyDeleteKeyamo, are you a learner?!! The government cares only about itself! People are applauding the effort of the government in quelling the threat of ebola but they forget that the only reason they acted so swiftly was because ebola was a threat to them too. Look at the BH case, if it was Abuja that was being bombarded like Bauchi BH would have being history after the second attack! Yes our government is a two faced bastard who cares only about itself and its interest! Alams kid dies and they sit up cos he is one of them, a corruptor but an ordinary citizen dies, they turn a deaf ear! Motherf*ckers never loved us!
ReplyDeletego to other countries and see how the interest of their citizens beyond their borders are catered and cared for, our own na hoosai. F*CK THE GOVERNMENT ABEG
ReplyDeleteThe reason is not so far-fetch now. the problem that is eating this country and the bases to all our problem is still ETHNICITY.
ReplyDeleteHAA! MAY THERE SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE
ReplyDeleteNIGERIA !!!
ReplyDeleteY do rich kids keep travelling to Dubai for dere studies? Y can't dey Skl here? D politicians mess up d Skl system here den send dere kids abroad. I don't pity dem. Nonsense
ReplyDeleteGEJ plz do something nigerians are dieing in diaspora...olubukola daniels aka blackmamba...
ReplyDeleteGod bless you Mr Keyamo for pointing out the repulsive selective treatment of citizens who share the same entity. The death of Oyams will surely draw the ire of the FG since he is a son of one the many Godfathers of Mr Jonathan. This action further buttress the general feeling of wat transpired in George Orwell's Animal farm being replayed in Nigeria, with the polarisation of NIgerians into "Nigerians" and "the masses". God and death employs no partial treatment!
ReplyDeleteWell said Mr Keyamo.like I always say,its in the best interest of our government (local, state and federal),to do right because what goes around, usually have a way of coming around.these days, sooner rather than later.
ReplyDeleteWhy won't shit happen †o our citizen becos we've always had a dumb ass government

ReplyDeleteNigerian government never does anything unless it affects their own.
ReplyDeleteOyams Alamieyeseigha is the son of a politician and a renewed thief, for that reason his life is more precious than that of Toba Falode. Shame on Jonathan and his pathetic government!
ReplyDeleteToba Falode is a Nigerian while Oyams Alams is a kin of GEJ, and we all know that FG will, as always protect their own and not Nigerians... Shame on GEJ
ReplyDeleteDouble Standard. if they dont act on Tyler Fray then Alams should quietly burry his son too.

Thanks my brother. No life is more important than the other. We are all created by God in His own image and likeness. FG pls do something.
ReplyDeleteRIP to these young men, but this should serve as a lesson to the high and mighty to make the country habitable enough, so young peeps do not need to leave our shores to go be second class peeps in some "better off" place where they cant even get justice if they need it!
ReplyDeleteOur Government na partial one nah! Why is Oyams more special than Toba? U quiet agree that if Toba's case had been addressed immediately, the second death would have been averted! RIP guys!
ReplyDeleteWell spoken linda, i wish they will hear this n sit up.
ReplyDeleteNigerians and the Asian continent don't mix. So many stories of Nigerian lives treated as worthless in that part of the world.
ReplyDeleteVery true. If they had known it will come to their turn, they'll av done something about Toba's murder
ReplyDeleteWell said.....Thank you sir.....but the sad truth is that we need ACTION! Wake up Nigeria!

Its high time the president tackcled all this murder of our students abroad..
ReplyDeleteYes, i totally agree with you, Mr Keyamo. With the way the killing of Toba was handled, one would only agree that the lives of the citizens of this country whether living within or outside the country means nothing to the Federal Government. This attitude is exposing our citizens to extra judicial killings. The FG should pls do something about it. Enough is enough. Let them stop wasting the lives of our brothers and sisters living outside this country. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for people who invest their money in the U.A.E; one day they go change am for una. Stop sending your kids there to school, shop there fine, other things no. those people sabi cover up. Nigerians wiseup
ReplyDeleteA good cause like this won't get many comments. Our government should start making every citizens life count for something.
ReplyDeleteI weep for my country. Everyman for himself...
ReplyDeleteWe are too tribal in this country. Gosh! I hate it.
ReplyDeleteWord!
ReplyDeleteWe're equal all of us are citizen of dis country, Naija government pls stop differentiate
ReplyDeleteRip bro, but federal government should do something very fast
ReplyDeleteThis people just spoke my mind, cuz after d death of Toba d FG didn't take any measures or further investigations, now it has happened to a political family and d are now trying to do sometin [food for thought] even money cannot buy life, so Nigerians learn to value d lives of ur citizens, cuz death is d only tin dat makes us all equal, and wen it comes, even ur wealth cannot save u
ReplyDeleteFEDERAL GOVERNMENT? WHAT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT? DO WE HAVE ONE OR HALF OF ONE? AS LONG AS THE GEJ ADMIN IS IN POWER, WE ARE AT THE MERCY OF DOOM - CHIBOK GIRLS / BOKO BOYS / FAYOSE (PDP) DOING A 'MAYWEATHER MOMENT' ON A JUDGE / ETC... DON'T GET ME WRONG, OTHERS HAVE THEIRS TO BE BLAMED FOR BUT WHO'S IN POWER ATM? MY POINT EXACTLY. FG AIN'T GON DO SH*T ON THESE LATE BROTHERS OF OURS AS THEY ARE STRATEGIZING ON THE ON COMING ELECTIONS.
ReplyDeleteYEA SURE...THE FED GOVT IS DEFINITELY PARTIAL,ALWAYS BEEN. MY INCORRUPTIBLE BARRISTER[FESTUS K] I THANK YOU SOO DEARLY. THE MANNER THOSE WHITE PIGEONS DEAL WIT OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS ABROAD IS ALARMING EVEN THOSE OF US WHO AR LEGITIMATELY QUALIFIED AND SHULD BE GAINFULLY EMPLOYED ARE STILL DEVALUED AND UNDER PAYED. BUT THOSE PIGEONS WILL COME TO OUR COUNTRY TO 'SYPHOON' OUR RESOURCES AND THEY,LL BE GIVEN FRONT ROLE WITH VERY FAVORABLE CONDITIONS..DAMN. MEANWHILE I STRONGLY SUPPORT THE COURSE OF JUSTICE ONTHE KILLERS OF FALODE AND ALAMIEYESEIGHA CUZ IF U DEY WAIT FOR FED GOVT. STORY!! GEJ WULDVE BEEN VERY GOOD IF NOT FOR THOSE RETARDED/DELAPIDATED BRAINS SURROUNDING HIM. BULLSHIT..
ReplyDeleteU see, here in UAE the Emiratis own their land, money and the monarch system made sure every indigene is first amongst many [E' PLURUBUS UNUM].
ReplyDeleteThese guys are so rich they hate any slight competition that begets thier way[inferiority complex].
Toba & Oyams i suggest would have ostentatious goods [fast cars, blings & expensive apartment] which ordinarily the emiratis would frown about.
lastly,when u start dating their girls.....opps! you are dead..my 100th sense..am out
May deir souls rest in peace
ReplyDeleteThe government should stand up for his people.
ReplyDeleteWe keep saying they were murdered but have they given thought to the fact that these guys may be part of something bad? RIP to the dead.

ReplyDeleteMay ur souls rest in peace
ReplyDeleteMy fellow Nigerians, killing can take place any and everywhere. The big question is who do you hang around with, what are you involved in and ultimately what are your parents involved in. This killing certainly has nothing to do with Dubai, which is one of the safest place I know.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Nigerian Government not listening to its people's cry that a whole spiral issue that needs addressing from its roots.
RIP to this two vibrant men, may God console their families.
I don't post comments on Linda but GOD BLESS FESTUS KEYAMO. They left Aisha Falode ALONE!! The poor woman's grieving face was all over the place. The government did not lift ONE FINGER now they're placing calls for Alamieyeseigha. Everybody will answer questions on the last day. That much I know.
