Renowned lawyer and ex-NBA president Okey Wali kidnapped

The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, have announced the kidnap of its immediate past president, Okey Wali. According to a statement released last night, Mr Wali was kidnapped in Port Harcourt yesterday Saturday October 11th around 9pm by unknown persons.
"Okey Wali is a man of peace who has not only contributed immensely to the enthronement of rule of law and protection of human rights, but also to the development of our Nation. It is therefore saddening that he should become a kidnap victim. This sad event is yet another reminder of the state of insecurity in which all Nigerians live. We passionately appeal to his abductors for his immediate and safe release to his family." the statement read
Mr Wali, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, was NBA president from 2012 to July 2014

    1. Na wa indeed. And no be small wa, I might add. But while my sympathies go out, Na the same pple wey dey support the present systems be this. His fellow lawyers called him out some time ago. Pple think this thing is sectional, it's not. The insecurity is everywhere and 'they' don't care. Na the same lawyers no go gree us convict thieving politicians who make it impossible to create jobs for the youth.

  23. At least the kidnap of this prominent dude will expose the daily kidnapping happening in PHC. ROtimi has it under wraps. Nobody talks about it. Something so vile has become the new normal and people have adjusted their mindsets. I hope Mr Wali's family finds him but this is helping bring renewed attention to the insecurity in port harcourt. it is terrifying.
