Presidential spokesperson Reuben Abati comes for #BBOG group

Looks like the Presidency thinks #BringBackOurGirls campaign movement has a hidden agenda to unseat the Jonathan administration. See more tweets after the cut...

    1. Shut up with your sensationalisation, Abati. It's the government that's unserious with the No 1 task of securing Nigerians. Anybody has the right to associate with any group or party that they want. Did you see them carry guns? Or you expect everyone to be licking Jona's butt like you and Okupe? Nonsense!

    2. Thank you 6.48pm,I'm sick and tired of these grown up morons continuously treating us like we are dense.a week ago, there were pics circulating of the dead former head of boko haram standing with asari dokubo, oritsejafor and another militant.
Why didn't the FG or dumb dumb Abati address that,?

  4. Oh! STFU Reuben, this is not the first time we're seeing such campaign of calumny from the presidency.
Doesn't she have the right of political participation,I guess seeing her at a TAN rally will make her apolitical.
The demand is simple just #BringBackOurGirls
I guess Michelle Obama and Alicia Keys are all members of APC.
Remember Reuben there's still life after GEJ2015.

  5. No need to fret Mr Abati. We know their antecedents. It is nothing to worry about. I am only concerned how the missing 219 girls will only have the 20 parents and guardians we keep seeing. Other BBOG members are jobbers and APC members.

  14. What is sad is the unbelievable level of total and self satisfied ignorance that this government spokesperson is displaying. I will not dignify the crass and illogical inferences with even a shadow of an attempt at explaining why this is asinine. I'll just say, in the words of the 1st Lady, there is God and one day every last one of you will answer for every single thing you have done to keep those young girls away from their families under abusive conditions for so long. Again I wish just one of you had a daughter among them. The story might have been different today...

  15. This Reuben Abati man just like his fellow brother in lies & blackmail, Doyin Okupe are so damn partisan. The only campaign strategy that president Jonathan and his attack dogs have are "to blackmail people, create divisions & stir up unjust sentiments. President Jonathan has continually failed Nigeria & Nigerians he must go as long as there is a living God. We must vote him out. They can continue their gists of blackmailing people in prison after 2015.

If those who make demands to #BringBackOurGirls are in the opposition party, does that mean they have no right to make demands. Sir, not everything is to tanish the image of the president but what is right should be demanded.

  36. Five days ago, news came up that shocked many Nigerians. “President Jonathan is now the 6th Richest President in Africa with total amount of 100 Million Dollars in less than 5 years in Aso Rock” Even if his name has been removed, the truth is already out. The president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe who has been on the throne for 28 years, has only 20 million dollars; Nelson Mandela who is among the top ten most popular men on earth and also a onetime president of one of the richest country in Africa (south Africa), left a total amount of 700 million naira for his family....Vote wisely Nigerians.

  37. GEJ is the idiot arming them by remaining docile about the kidnapping! There is no denying the BBOG is being politicized which is unfortunate but GEJ made that possible by not being open about the whole situation.

    ReplyDelete
  38. As long as the girls have not yet been rescued, anybody (and of course that includes political opponents) has a right to criticize the government.

If the girls haven't been rescued yet, Reuben Abati has no right to accuse anyone of playing politics. He should just shut up!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Looking @ it d other way round would have loved to c Abatti's reaction to dis whole situation if he wasn't part of d govt.I don't doubt d fact dat some elements have tried to politicise d whole issue, but d time GEJ and his aides spend on responding via social media's can b used to further think of d best way rescue dis girls rather than join issues.Such acts does not make d govt look sincere in rescuing d girls. They should talk less and act more

  51. Words are cheap Mr Abati, anyone with a half-decent education can string sentences together... What we need is action, and all it seems this administration takes action on is forming committees to "look into things", and release statements "condemning" acts that their "actions" could have prevented.

  53. REUBEN,

YES, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT YOUR CHILDREN!

WHY MUST THE PRESIDENT WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO REMIND HIM OR PROTEST BEFORE DOING THE RIGHT THING?

MY FRIEND TELLL YOUR BOSS TO GO AND BRING BACK OUR DAUGHTERS AND STOP CHASING SHADOW.

THESE GIRLS WOULD HAVE BEEN RESCUED BY NOW AND RE-UNITED WITH THEIR FAMILIES IF IF THE PRESIDENT HAD DEVOTED 1/10TH OF THE ENERGY THAT WAS EXPENDED IN FIGHTING SOUTH AFRICA OVER THE SHAMEFUL AND SCANDALOUS $15M THAT WAS RIGHTLY CONFISCATED BY THE SOUTH AFRICAN GOVT.

How would some Northern Muslim fundamentalists be rooting for some foolish Christian "over-aged" girls who should have been married off instead of being in school if not for politics? BBOG! indeed! tell that to fools who don't understand the politics of the North.

  57. fine!! maybe, just maybe the leaders of BBOG should not take political sides but then again maybe they should, they are free Nigerians and can choose to associate themselves with any party. 66. What an imp! What an oaf, Goodluck Jonathan is—and to endorse this nonsense from his propaganda pipsqueak shows the depth of depravity of this incompetent president. They actually have the temerity to accuse a group of humanitarians who’re doing their job for them; fighting for the voiceless, when they, as the government, can be accused of a dereliction of duty—is a national scandal.

They have no human feelings for the kidnapped girls or their desperate families. They are completely clueless as to what cause of actions to take, and the little they've done seem to indicate that they're actually complicite with the savages of unspeakable barbarity that is boko haram. This sadistic administration is more concerned with presenting Badluck Jonathan’s in a good light for his continued grip on power. We shouldn’t forget that not too long ago, this buffoon posed in a huge poster that mimicked the slogan of this same national tragedy—#bringbackJonathan, as if to taunt the suffering parents and thump up their noses to the international community.

Soon, the shrieking shrew and First hypocrite -- the president's wife Mrs Foss Lady Payshence will hold a forum of grieving parents to holler like a shrieking pig; “Diarris god’oh, Diarris god’oh,”as if she’s a witch trying to persuade the last dregs of humanity in her wicked soul that there’s a power greater other than she and her greedy husband. These callous presidential apparatchiks spearheaded by Ruben Abati no longer know what shame feels or what integrity means. Nigerians, please vote out badluck in your midst.

Their prime candidate (Buhari) is also a corrupt man, the first time I heard NNPC ($2.8 billion) vanished Buhari was the petroleum minister. We all know what happened when he was in PTF. Again as a military head of state he was not in charge late Idiagbon was, he was just a figure. I see the same thing playing again, powerful ppl like Tinbu will not allow him to operate.

  84. This Abati guy should just shut the hell up. I don't know why this government is playing to the gallery? The fact is that a large number of young girls have been missing for over 150 days and it is the duty of the Jona led federal government to find them but this govt is irresponsibly passing the buck. if Melaye and Bala are working for APC, is Michelle Obama and Malala also working for APC? The earlier Nigerians realise Jonathan is an odour that must be flushed out in 2015 the better. After Jona is disgraced out of office, I wonder what becomes of Abati who has sold his conscience and the truth he has so vehemently defended in the past for a few millions.
