Nigerian Defence HQ confirms Boko Haram ceasefire, releases statement

Found this on the Nigerian Defence Headquarters website...
While closing the coordinating conference between Nigeria and Cameroon on trans-border military operations, the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh informed the delegates that without any prejudice to the outcome of the three days interactions and the conclusions of the forum, a cease fire agreement had been concluded between the Federal Government of Nigeria and Ahlul Sunna Li Daawa Wal Jihad. Accordingly, he directed the Service Chiefs to ensure immediate compliance with this development in the field.
At the meeting was the Cameroonian Chief of Defence Staff, GCA Meka Rene Claude leading his country’s military delegation. Service Chiefs and senior military officers also attended the event.

  17. Well, it seems the BH sponsors need them to chill for a while so it doesn't affect the 2015 elections. Nigerians, when will we learn. Its not a ceasefire, it's just part of their strategy for the upcoming elections. God help us to open our eyes wide and see things for what the are.

  19. Hello people shine your eyes o, all is politics they're trying to use our brains again. I firmly agree with anonymous 7:10. The presidency actually claimed earlier that bh was faceless now the masks behind their faces seems to have been removed. All these kayos have been well mapped out towards 2015 election! Oboma did the same thing in America when Osama Binladin was captured. He used that to gain the hearts of Americans and also their VOTES !! Now because 2015 election is around the corner, presidency is reaching an agreement with bh that mean they have been playing with our intelligence all this while. Jona strongly wants us to give him some credit and of course our votes. Hello people alot of lives have gone, properties worth millions of naira destroyed, alot of people have been displaced from their homes. All because some selfish individuals must achieve their aims. We must trade with caution please, our destiny is in our own hands....one Love NIGERIA!!!

  20. Nigerians wake up from your slumber. These Govt are playing politics with our innocent lives and made us believe its one religion killing the other. Before now Boko Haram are faceless and now they have negotiated with them because of trying to score cheap political points ahead of 2015. If una like make uan still vote them back to power because they have already made you to believe its one religion that is bad and you won't vote the right man because he is not of your religion. These politicians are polygamous when it comes to religion. They worship and do anything to stay in power. Pls use your vote wisely ooo

  24. Now that these sons of SATAN claim to have come to a ceasefire agreement with the Federal Government, our military should be on red alert still. Swallowing the "We Have Repented" lies of these BLOOD SUCKING sons of ISHMAEL
would be a ghastly mistake. These killers of innocent children and rapers of underaged girls will never change. There SPONSORS will never repent, neither will they.

Boko Haram is termed faceless.. how did boko haram suddenly have delegates and spokesmen strong enough to negotiate a move as heavy as a ceasefire?

  35. Mr.Jonathan'a government & cabinet are mostly full of thieves, clueless people, selfish people & unpatriotic people. Let me explain why. Look, the war against boko haram isn't conventional warfare I.e it is not a war against two countries or two known sides. It's guerrilla warfare cos we are fighting insurgents and terrorists that we don't know for certain(even though it now seems like the government knows these people but has just been lying all along that they don't know them). The insurgents/terrorists on the other hand know us and they are fighting Nigeria & everything Nigerian by every means. For them,it's a drawn line already "KILL EVERYTHING NIGERIAN EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A REASON TO"....that's their fuel, motivation & motto, I guess. So, calling a ceasefire with these bastards is not going to change that.
If they see any Nigerian anywhere around them (even if it's in a village) during the "ceasefire" they would still kill him/her without the federal government knowing. You see? In recent times,we have been winning these bastards & their leader has once again been killed by our great Nigerian forces so they're really very disorganized right now & that means with a little more efforts, our military can clear their "soldiers" and mercenaries off. Now,if we were fighting a conventional war against another country, a ceasefire won't have been a bad idea cos if that country breaks the pact,we know where to hit them cos the location of that country is fixed and cannot change from where it is on the map. Here,we are dealing with some guerrilla terrorists that keep moving from place to place & that means that as long as they exist (even under a ceasefire pact), nowhere in Nigeria is safe cos they can just strike a place & relocate. On top of that, they are "claiming" Nigerian territory & that is a threat ....A BIG THREAT TO OUR SOVEREIGNTY & Africa as a whole. That means that they can wake up tomorrow & claim to be a republic or federation or whatever. Eg. Federation of boko haram states.
Look,a ceasefire is only an attempt by them to go regroup,re-strategize & recruit more foot soldiers(which sadly would be innocent Nigerians which they would kidnap undercover again & force to join them). Remember When boko haram first struck in 2009? In just a week or so,former president Yar'Adua's government crushed them & we thought that was it only for them to 're-surface in 2010 bigger and stronger cos we let our guard down. I say "NO" to this ceasefire cos I know it can never favour our nation in the long run. This government is only concerned about winning another term & they probably just want to use this opportunity to get a point for campaigns. Ceasefire pacts would not benefit Nigeria in the long run my people.
    God Bless Nigeria.
