MTV Africa releases their list of top 20 greatest Naija Songs of All Time

MTV Africa just released their list of top 20 greatest Naija songs of all time...and so many great songs are missing. But check out their list and tell us if you agree with it. To me, this list is more of the last 10 years than 'of all time'. Where's Fela, Femi, Daniel Wilson, African China and co? Nah! See the rest after the cut...

  2. How come I've never seen you post any good news on how great Lagos airport now looks? I'm appalled

    1. Lagos airport? Domestic or international because if you mean international you're a joker! Is it because of the luggage belt they opened? Or because of the new TVs that they have refused to take out of their cartons and nylons for the past year? Airport with wet floors, with staff making noise and causing disorder. Do you know how far returnees have to walk with their luggages to reach the "shuttle" that takes them to the new car park which is miles away? With all the mud and rubbish road. With touts hanging around that you don't even feel an iota of safety. Dont even get me started! I wonder how foreigners cope!

    2. Which Lagos airport? And what's your definition of great plz? You need to move out more mate.

  119. I believe MTV Base is mistaken. There are so many classic songs missing here. And what on earth is Limpopo, pakrumo etc doing on this list.
This is last 5 years except of course African Queen. MTV Base had to make me make my first comment on lindaikeji as a result of this joke of a list.

  130. JOSE SAYZ.... APART FROM AFRIKAN QUEEEN BY 2BABA,THE REST HAS ALMOST LOST THEIR SALT BCUZ OF MEANINGLESS IN LYRICS,SO HOW CAN THEY BE ALL-TIME? WHAT DA FXXXCK? MTV MY ASS. HEY U GUYZ @ MTV JUST EXPOSED UR LACK OF CONSECRATION TO WORK,LACK OF DETAILS IN UR RESERACH AND MOSTLY UR AGE BRACKET BCUZ GOING BY THE LIST,U STARTED LISTENING TO OUR MUSIC JUST 'YESTERDAY' IE THE ERA OF JEAN-SAGGING,BLINK BLINK,BEATS-ONLY AND COPY-CAT MUSICIANS IN NAIJA. LIKE CHIDI MOKEME DID SAY...PLSS U CANT TEACH US OUR OWN LANGUAGE FOR OUR LAND. EVEN UR SELF ACCLAIMED CRITERIA FOR MAKING THE LIST DOES NOT PLAY HERE BECAUSE WE KNOW THE SONGS THAT HAS AND IS STILL STANDING THE TEST OF TIME IN OUR MUSIC WORLD. OGA MTV ABEG PARK WELLLA! IF U SAY ITS ABT THE VIDEO...THEN U FOR TAG IT '20 NAIJA MUSIC VIDEOS OF ALL TIME' SO WE CAN LOOK OUT FOR THE MOST BLINK BLINK,COLOURFUL,NUDE GIRLS PICTURES. BT IF U SAY ITS MUSIC IN GENERAL..HMMM ABEG ITS EITHER U PARK WELL OR U PARK COMMOT CUZ U SIMPLY GOT IT WRONG. DO U KNOW THAT U GUYZ JUST INSULTED NAIJA BY EVALUATING OUR MUSIC INDUSTRY FROM THE ERA OF BLINK BLINK WHEN MUSIC IS MADE IN PER SECOND BILLING AND EVRYONE DROPPING SINGLES EVRY SEC LIKE SINGLE LADIES LOOKING FOR MARRIAGE. LISTEN, LETS BORROW FACTS, THAT CHRISTIAN CHUKWU, PHILIP OSONDU, PETER RUFAI, KESHI EVEN THE LATE YEKINI AND MANY MORE DID NOT MAKE AS MUCH MONEY AS THE LIKES OF KANU NWANKWO AND MIKEL OBI IS MAKING DOES NOT REMOVE THEIR NAMES FROM OUR FOOTBALL HISTORY AS PIONEERS. PEOPLE THAT GAVE BIRTH TO OUR MUSIC,SINGING HARMONIOUS SONGS WITH INSPIRATION AND THE MASSES INTEREST AT HEART, ARE ALL OMITTED IN THIS DISJOINTED LIST. BUT U ARE QUICK TO ADD A TRACK OF SOMEONE WHO JUST WAKE UP ONE MORNING AND COINED ONE WORD LIKE 'LIMPOPO' AND ARRANGE ONE CONVENTIONAL BEAT TO GARNISH THE COINED PHRASE THATS ALL..MUSIC DON READY, THEN THE NEXT THING ON HIS/HER MIND IS THE VIDEO..WHERE HE WILL USE BLINK BLINK AND COPY=CAT PACKAGES TO COVER THE MEANINGLESS LYRICS.[NO HARD FEELINGS K.C] JUST AN EXAMPLE AFTERALL U BETTER PASS SOME ARTISTS. HEY WHAT IS WIZKID AND DAVIDO EVEN DOING THERE?
