Liberia to prosecute national who took Ebola to US

Liberian authorities say they will prosecute Eric Duncan, the Liberian man diagnosed with Ebola in the US once he finishes his treatment in America and returns home.
"We wish him a speedy recovery; we await his arrival in Liberia to face prosecution" Binyah Kesselly, chairman of the board of directors of the Liberia Airport Authority said.
Duncan is accused of lying to health officials when he filled a questionnaire before leaving the country last month saying that none of his relatives were sick. But investigations by the health ministry showed he had an Ebola infected relative whom he had taken to a hospital on a wheelbarrow but was turned back from the hospital after being told they lacked bed space for his ill relative.

Duncan, said to be in a serious condition in a Dallas hospital, is the 1st case of Ebola to be diagnosed on US soil.

  18. really? and they did nothing about Sawyer bringing it to Nigeria? ...fear of US is the beginning of .....

    ReplyDelete
  19. Same way Sawyer came here. This is very wrong. Knowing that you are infected and then flying somewhere to infect others (may be in the name of seeking for cure)

    1. Lmao!! Your comment made me laugh. According to an interview, I think his step brother had been working on his visa for him for years. He lived in a couple of African countries as a refugee before finally going to Liberia to wait. His mother and steps were already living and raising their kids in the US while they filed his papers for him.

  42. Liberia is a stupid country, because he took it to the US he should be prosecuted, when dt idiot brought it to naija nobody said anything, pshewww

    ReplyDelete
  43. And Us had to send people to come and understudy hw we contained the virus... and you say there is no God!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Because when sawyer brought it to Nigerian he didn't falsely declare himself Ebola free on a questionnaire. Nothing to do with racism please use common sense people.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Why Liberians no go carry dia Ebola stay one place, must dey give it to other pple. Wicked souls.

  55. What do they expect? Every white guy who goes to Africa and catches the disease is cured when the black people who contract it die. They won't give Africa the cure either. People will escape to America for better care. The Liberians are kissing ass for orosecuting the guy. Nobody wants to die, and the disease is out of control in that country.

    ReplyDelete
  56. the Govt of Liberia is not being fair at all, they claimed the man took a family member to the hospital but was rejected because of lack of bed space, the same man ran to the USA to seek for medical help since he could afford a flight ticket and knowing fully well that no hospital in Liberia will admit him and going to other African countries will be tantamount to suicide taking a clue at what happened to Patrick Sawyer, what wrong has he done, the Liberia Govt should apologize to countries where there citizens acted as human missile to the dreaded Ebola virus and borrow a leaf from Nigeria on the best way to tame the virus

    ReplyDelete
  57. I just wish him quick recovery, he probably wanted somewhere his gonna get treatment

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hmmm and knowing that he might be infected, instead of isolating him self, he had contacts with his girl friend and her children plus so many other people. This is pure stupidity and wicked. Now Americans are in danger.

    ReplyDelete
  59. What is wrong with this man? He does not want to die alone

    ReplyDelete
  60. I was searching for 'like' button for the comment advocating a ban on those idiot Liberians from leaving their country. Those people are evil, all they want to do is carry their disease to other countries without putting adequate measures in place for curbing it.

So they want to apologise to USA? Oloshi people, they owed us 'no explanation' but when it's the USA these idiots are shouting prosecution? Thunder fire all of them

    ReplyDelete
  61. What prevented them from giving Patrick a posthumous trial?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Na only God go hep person for dis kind disease

    ReplyDelete
  63. Liberians are wicked people.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Why would they do that? Is it because that it has affected US. What happened to the person who imported it to Nigeria . This is just a publicity stunt.

    ReplyDelete
  65. for me, I call this an early health seeking behaviour. He knows there won't be bed space for him when he eventually starts showing symptoms and he knows he will get cure in US. He needed medical attention and he has gotten one! But atleast he would have isolated himself Whn he got to US

    ReplyDelete
  66. Seems Ebola is their mineral export

    ReplyDelete
  67. This is unfair by the liberians

    ReplyDelete
  68. I do not blame him.his country failed him. What do you expect him to do after his relation was turned back for lack of bed space. If you were in his shoes, will you sit back and die. The only ill he did was not to have quarantined himself when he became symptomatic .
