Despite ceasefire agreement, Boko Haram attack villages in Borno, kill 9

Despite the ceasefire agreement reached between Boko Haram men and the Nigerian government on Friday October 17th, members of sect same evening and in the early hours of Saturday October 18th launched fresh attacks on Abadam and Dzur villages in Borno state killing at least 9 people including the father of the former Borno state House of Assembly, Goni Ali-Modu.

According to reports, the people killed in the fresh attacks were residents of the villages who were jubilating over the announced ceasefire agreement.
"The people (killed) were celebrating the ceasefire before Boko Haram came to attack them. There isn't much details but I think you can contact the authorities for details"
Meanwhile there are reports that the sect is in the process of selecting a new leader after the death of the Abubakr Shekau impostor in Konduga. According to a member of the states civilian JTF who spoke with Tribune, he said the sect is not really ready for a ceasefire and that the people who are posing as leaders of the sect holding meetings with the federal government are mere politicians who are out to deceive the government.
"The sect is only trying to buy more time to enable them to regroup and announce Mamman Nur as their leader. Should that happen, we are far away from any peace deal as his name rings a bell in terrorism circles in Borno to Sudan and other places across Africa" he said

  10. this is the end result when a government is soooo stupid to think they can negotiate with terrorists. this is appalling to even know that Nigerian govt could stoop so low to think negotiating with terrorists is even an option.

  21. Well, i knew it ..Federal govt did the unthinkable by trying to negotiate with terrorists in the first place! Another sect will rise again! It only amounts to mediocrity, lack of good advisers to the presidency. Terrorists bringing a whole government to its knees shows how weak our govt is.

  23. Mr.Jonathan's government & cabinet are mostly full of thieves, clueless people, selfish people & unpatriotic people. Let me explain why. Look, the war against boko haram isn't conventional warfare I.e it is not a war against two countries or two known sides. It's guerrilla warfare cos we are fighting insurgents and terrorists that we don't know for certain(even though it now seems like the government knows these people but has just been lying all along that they don't know them). The insurgents/terrorists on the other hand know us and they are fighting Nigeria & everything Nigerian by every means. For them,it's a drawn line already "KILL EVERYTHING NIGERIAN EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A REASON TO"....that's their fuel, motivation & motto, I guess. So, calling a ceasefire with these bastards is not going to change that.
If they see any Nigerian anywhere around them (even if it's in a village) during the "ceasefire" they would still kill him/her without the federal government knowing. You see? In recent times,we have been winning these bastards & their leader has once again been killed by our great Nigerian forces so they're really very disorganized right now & that means with a little more efforts, our military can clear their "soldiers" and mercenaries off. Now,if we were fighting a conventional war against another country, a ceasefire won't have been a bad idea cos if that country breaks the pact,we know where to hit them cos the location of that country is fixed and cannot change from where it is on the map. Here,we are dealing with some guerrilla terrorists that keep moving from place to place & that means that as long as they exist (even under a ceasefire pact), nowhere in Nigeria is safe cos they can just strike a place & relocate. On top of that, they are "claiming" Nigerian territory & that is a threat ....A BIG THREAT TO OUR SOVEREIGNTY & Africa as a whole. That means that they can wake up tomorrow & claim to be a republic or federation or whatever. Eg. Federation of boko haram states.
Look,a ceasefire is only an attempt by them to go regroup,re-strategize & recruit more foot soldiers(which sadly would be innocent Nigerians which they would kidnap undercover again & force to join them). Remember When boko haram first struck in 2009? In just a week or so,former president Yar'Adua's government crushed them & we thought that was it only for them to 're-surface in 2010 bigger and stronger cos we let our guard down. I say "NO" to this ceasefire cos I know it can never favour our nation in the long run. This government is only concerned about winning another term & they probably just want to use this opportunity to get a point for campaigns. Ceasefire pacts would not benefit Nigeria in the long run my people.
    God Bless Nigeria.

  34. I said it few days ago that time will tell if there is indeed a ceasefire. The Government is also making a big and grave mistake trying to negotiate with animals. No one does that. You simply do not negotiate with terrorists! Kill them all cause they wont spare you if you are in their shoes. These head-hunters have no souls. They are the epitome of evil and until they are eliminated from the face of the earth it's only going to get worse.

  35. Jonathan used this to deceive people so peoplecan say he is making efforts to bring back the girls and vote for him...lies.trying to win our votes coz he is contesting next yer .well let's vote for the right person.only a dumb person would vote for Jonathan who has not been able to curb terrorism in nigeria. he didnt think of this agreement 6months ago when the girls were kidnapped. He just thought of it because of his selfish motives. Imagine the trauma these girls are facing, rape e.t.c do you think these girls would come back and live a normal life again?some might even come back as a terrorist coz they have been brainwashed.for those saying we dont want a muslim to rule....hmmmm....think about it....politicians dont have a particular religion because they all engage in diabolic act to stay in power.just vote for the right person
