TFC HQ renamed Bunmi's Place in honour of owner's son who died last year

The Headquarters of one of Nigeria's biggest fast food joints, TFC (Tastee Fried Chicken) has been renamed Bunmi's Place, in honour of the only child of the owner Mrs Olayinka Adedayo, Olubunmi Adedayo, who passed away on September 24th in South Africa. Before his death, the father of two was an executive director at TFC.

The unveiling of Bunmi's Place will take place on September 25th at the company's corporate HQ in VI. It's just the HQ that's going to be re-named, all other retail outlets will remain as TFC

  2. RIP. I'm not sure it's a good decision though, brand name wise.

  5. Linda, it seems that you are quite confused! TFC is not rebranding by changing the brand name.it's only their head office that is being renamed 'Bunmi's Place'.

  7. Epic fail. TFC is a strong brand name. The new name sounds like a Buka. Before you know it the food will become Buka food too. Peace to the dead, comfort to the living.

  20. For records, OLUWABUNMI Omotayo Adedayo, the only son of Chief Adekunle Adedayo and Chief (Mrs.) Olayinka Adedayo, owners of Tastee Fried Chicken (TFC), who died on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, was buried on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Vaults & Gardens, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Before his burial, a wake-keep was held in his honour at Our Saviour’s Church, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.  ENCOMIUM Weekly was there and talked to some of his friends and colleagues in TFC who paid him glowing tributes.

ABIODUN SHOWUNMI, Head of Administration, TFC

“I worked directly with him.  I reported to him daily.  I have been in Tastee Fried Chicken in the last two years but I was appointed Head of Administration in the last one year.  For about 11 months, I worked directly with him.  He was a leader, a visioner. He was someone that believed in the youths.  He believed in hard work. He was a soldier because when he gave you an assignment you must deliver with military precision.

“I will miss a lot about him. I learnt a lot under him.  I thought I had enough experience about the job until I met him.  He had a lot of experience that I learnt from him.

“He built the company, he ran the company and had passion for the job.  He loved all of us.  Every member of Tastee Fried Chicken (TFC) had direct contact to him.  You could call him anytime. His office was opened to everyone including the cleaners.” culled from Encomium Weekly
