Synagogue: Death toll of South Africans increase to 84, 17 unaccounted for

In an interview with AFP, the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Lulu Mnguni, said the number of South Africans that died in the Friday September 12th building collapse at the Synangogue church has increased to 84 and that 265 South Africans survived the incident.
“The number has risen from 67 to 84, with more bodies discovered on Thursday, September 18th. The number of South Africans who were in the church might be higher, as we believe that some people organized the trip themselves without using travel agents.
"There are 265 South African survivors. Initially, there were 96 injured South Africans, but now there are only 29 still in hospital, including a three-year-old,” Mr. Mnguni said
H also said that 17 South Africans are unaccounted for. It is believed that there were about 349 South Africans visiting the popular church at the time of the collapse.

    1. After this, South Africans will stop looking for miracles that do not exist. Look at the pain this has caused to their loved one, innocent people with pressing problems, may their soul rest in peace

  24. If we had a functional government, they will shot down that church permanently for putting up a sub standard building that killed so many. But that will never happen. Useless country.

It is wrong to hold services in an uncompleted building without adequate measures and approvals.

  33. idiot why should synagogue be shut down permanently? is this the first time a building is collapsing? after all their main church building has been standing....i do not believe TB joshua is a true man of God and nothing will ever take me there to seek help.....but i sympathize with this tragedy and don't see y the church should be shut down.....i only pity those who go to visit him

    ReplyDelete
  34. shut up what do you mean they are hiding the correct figure? we have no proper data system in this country and it takes time for some of these figures to be verified....DNA has to be done to identify some of these bodies for proper identification.....what of people who have no ID on them at the time the building collapsed how do you tell if they are Nigerians or south Africans...i dont believe in tb joshua but i dont believe they are hiding any figures, they are just saddled with the same typical problem we have in naija on handling emergencies...

    ReplyDelete
  35. Nobody is happy they died but why is the church hiding the exact figure, nema is compromised in turn giving the Nigerian a bad repute when it comes to accuracy, lately there have been chaos in that vicinity as the mentally retarded ones claim terrorist came back because an aircraft flew across the area. Hehehe God help us.

  36. People dont cease to amaze me, imagine such number coming to Nigeria for miracle instead met untimely death, may their soul RIP.
