Rivers govt contradict health minister. Says PH woman died of cardiac arrest not Ebola

The Rivers state government has contradicted yesterday's report by the Health Minister who said an elderly woman died from the Ebola Virus Disease on Tuesday September 2nd in Port Harcourt.

At a press briefing today in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state Commissioner for Health, Dr Samson Parker said the elderly woman died of cardiac arrest and not Ebola as stated by the Minister of Health through his media spokesperson, Dan Nwomeh. Continue...

The elderly woman shared the same hospital room with the late Dr Iyke Enemuo who died of Ebola virus disease in Port Harcourt. She was quarantined alongside a doctor and a pharmacist who were staff of the late Port Harcourt doctor's clinic, Sam Steel Clinic.

  34. Amechi don't play politics with peoples lives, call a spade a spade, dat woman died of Ebola not cardiac arrest.

  35. Rivers govt will always want to play politics with everything. That Mr Parker Samson and his govt are lairs, he earlier refuted rumours that there is no ebola in PH until health Minister said otherwise. What is he trying to achieve by denying that the elder woman did not die from EVD? i believe Rivers govt wants to start its ususal war with the fed. govt. They should know this is not the time to challenge one another or begin their power tussule.Lives are at stake here.Pls Fed. govt ignore Rivers govt. and render as much help as you can to contain this disease.Fed. govt worked perfectly well with the Lagos state govt. and we applauded their efforts both in informing the public duly with progress made and challenges encountered. pls do not relent or be discouraged in helping the citizens of Rivers State. The aim of Rivers govt is to deter the fed.govt from getting fully involved hence painting Jonathan/his govt. as being weak and indifference to the plights of the citizens.

  36. is really bad playing politics wit this ebola would not help either they should emulate lagos gvt instead of issueing contradictory statement.
