MTN Project Fame’s unbeatable milestone in UK, US, Canada and Africa

One would be right to affirm that consistency, creativity and professionalism have been the hallmark of the ongoing MTN Project Fame 7.0. Little wonder why the TV broadcast and online channels of the show have gathered a huge global followership in such a short span.  About a week ago, the cumulative views on YouTube hit a stunning figure of 4.7 million. A breakdown of the statistics shows that 1.7 million was recorded this season, with a large chunk of the traffic coming from the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.

Interestingly, one of the high points of online followership happened three weeks ago, when Michael Bolton, a popular American singer tweeted at the music academy to wish one of the contestants, Clement Akuoko, good luck. That was an uncommon feat.

Within the Africa continent, in faraway Egypt, South Africa and neighbouring countries like Cameroon and Ghana, according to Malike Dorothy, the publisher of Treasure Diary, a magazine published in Central Africa, the reality show has grown to be a popular family entertainment and the winners are held in high regard. Little wonder, Chidinma Ekile, the Season 3 winner of the musical academy, won the KORA award for the Best Artiste (female category), in 2013, in Abidjan.

Commendably, the online video view time in minutes has grown to 13 million. This is historical and a testament to how much satisfaction families are deriving from the show in the digital era. With this season producing brilliant performances, week-in week-out, and viewers debating who will emerge the eventual winners between Emeka, Geoffrey, Christian, Ruky, Clement, Debbie, Ugo and Dianella, the total view time is expected to grow exponentially in the days ahead.

That said. The popularity of the show among global audience has made it the biggest in Africa. Its productivity rate in terms of past contestants who made it into mainstream music industry has also made the platform the choice of talented West African youths who aim to make a living through entertainment.

Some of the milestones achievement can be traced to the undying passion exhibited by MTN, the reality show’s sponsor. Over the years, MTN has distinguished itself as a brand that seeks to create a better life for its host communities. This, it has made possible through the various platforms it creates to reach out to  the youth whose talents it seeks to nurture either through football and scholarship programmes, dance competitions or music academy like Project Fame.

The years ahead hold so much promise for the viewers and the youth seeking opportunities. The viewers are assured of great entertainment evidence by the passion of Project Fame’s sponsor and the creativity of the production team. The youth will have more opportunities to showcase their musical talent to the world and gain the approval of the reality show’s over 200 million viewing audience distributed around 7 continents.

Reel Africa App is available on MTN App Store, Google Play and Windows App Store. 24. Geoffrey to win with Rukky, Emeku and maybe Christian. Clement as far as I am concerned rushes through his songs whether slow songs or fast songs. I can believe the leg injury. Bone no dey heal fast fast like that. And that Micheal Bolton twit sebi na during the week on the 20th of August WEDNESDAY he send am. They coud have asked for his permison before using his song na. Please, vote for Geoffrey: he is serious minded NOT over confident. Just like Chidinma.

  29. All of you just open ur mouth open to talk rubish, some of you here commenting, are only here jst to promote either to promote ur friend, sister or brother, not that you kwn what music is all about, some can't even try of attempt ordinary d,r,m,f,s,l,t,d...pls you guys sud learn how to listen to music with ur hearts not ears and eyes, music is not all abt jumping around the stage making noise, yes emeka is humble but he jst jump around,as for goefrey his good but he is too proud of himself nd that is bad for him, christain is gud too,but he plays alot on stage dat is not what we are here for,as for ugo he is here for the price although good at times, ruky is kul but plays alot too, debby yeah is good but she is not natural but force herself daniella has a nice voice too scared, clem has a very great voice nd can communicates freely, but he needs to calm down wit his songs, but think he is jst trying to fight nd stay in the competion but needs to slow down
