Explosive! Journalist Nicholas Ibekwe shares audio proof of T.B Joshua offering journalists N50k

Unbelievable. Journalist Nicholas Ibekwe this afternoon shared audio proof of T.B Joshua offering journalists (who are covering the building collapse) N50,000 to 'fuel' their cars after he met with them behind close doors at his church premises. After giving them the money, he asked them what they planned to write and some of them said whatever he wants them to write. He asked them to talk about the people who were rescued/survived and not focus on the people who died.

Listen to the audio above and see more tweets from Nicholas after the cut...

Read from bottom up...

  62. Nigeria's Malady of Corruption is so evasive that no sector is free. Journalism has gone to the dogs long ago. Mr . Ibekwe may God bless you and protect you. T.B Joshua is not the only culprit . The oppressed can hardly be heard in the media these days. Oppressors have their agents in media houses. If they don't doctor the news items, they remove them entirely . News is for the highest bidder! One of the most important weapons for any ambitious politician is to found a media house. That's why the Sun can never report any of the atrocities of Orji Uzor Kalu and his mother in Abia state. The nation is Tinubu's attack dog.
May God send us more people like Nicholas Ibekewe !

They may escape human judgement but God will surely hold them responsible for all the atrocities & their demonic practices. Imagine! Fashola of all people?! Jonathan refused to declare war against Boko Haram simply because of political interest. TB Joshua, your case too is in the hand of God. You can't bribe God. Blood suckers as leaders & pastors!!! ReplyDelete
  95. linda linda this your heading is somehow, this guy is a joker I just listened the tape. No one in this tape refused any money. then TB Joshua didn't tell any one what to write and he said the authorities are still investigating the it. and that he is attending to people from all over. I don't get why people give or spread false information... linda be warned (the meeting didn't seem like it was be hide closed doors as was written)

    ReplyDelete
  96. Prophet TB Joshua has helped more people than any pastor/politician in Nigeria,,,what does he want us to do? Arrest him?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Any thing-money or material-given before a favor is done is bribe. Any thing-money or material- given after a favor has been done is a gift. My deduction from this audio is that T.B Joshua was desperate to influence the report of this bunch of hunger-stricken reporters. At first contact with them, one would have expected that he entertained their questions and provided his position on the matter in a way that would not 'interfere' with investigations. But what does he do? He announces a reward of 750,000naira for 15 (minus 1) hungry journalists who jumps at it with alacrity. Afterall, what have they got to lose? Nothing.
Secondly, of all the journalists present, none appeared to be keen about the primary reason why they had come in the first place and the reason is not far fetched. They had already been given BRIBES( yes, that's what it is!) and so had sold off their need to know what really transpired.
At a point he wanted to know if they had their cameras and mentioned "its not necessary now. You know it is a private issue". If he has nothing to shield, why was he concerned about their cameras and why was this made a private issue. Obviously he thought of buying off these guys in order to alter their reports and by extension have them douse the impression of observers and investigators.
When a lady among the reporters talked about the lost lives, he would rather have her talk about the rescued and forget about the dead.
And lastly, "so what are you going to write now?" he wanted to know what they intended to report to guage the possible impact his bribe had made on them and even if the end part of the audio wasn't so clear, one could still hear him vehemently trying to say what the journalists should instead report.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Nice job Linda, but I no see the audio link sha

    ReplyDelete
  99. Props to this reporter. Really rare to see anyone who remains loyal to their profession.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Nicholas I listen to him n the journalists but he said and I quote that 50000 should be given for fueling, and that u people should leave things for security to do their job and some asked that people will be expectings words over the lives and some in the hospital and he said and I quote let me talk like a man of God tell them about lives and remember dis is an issue nt only Nigeria but mostly other countries so y will u conclude that he is a murderer? Nicholas check ur self over dis issue and stop acting n whinning..

    ReplyDelete
  108. Hhmmmmmm na them sabi, shebi they are worshipping their pastors ( meemee ).

    ReplyDelete
  109. Ibekwe ..if u dont accept the money its ur cup of wahala.... dont come here and give us shit about how u refuse the gift, that is how he does give our 50k when ever u are able to make it to his office one on one, and showing us a clip of what TB want u to write, of cause its normal for someone to ask such from you hungry reporters... as u write with reckless abandon.
anyways.. i m not a christian b4 u have ur lost mouth on me saying that must be my church.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Is just unfortunate!
Where then is the exemplary life that we should emulate?
But the most annoying aspect is that irrespective of his wrongs, he'll still command followers who'll come to his defence during an e-barshing.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Just wondering why you're so quick to post pastors mishaps generally. They're human just like every one of us and are also prone to error. They just made the sacrifice to take the mantle and preach to us. Don't expect perfection from them.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I have listened to it and don't see anything wrong in what he said or did... he gives to anybody; rich or poor and it's not today he generosity started so people like Nicholas shouldn't get it twisted.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Sorry to say but half of the journalists at home are hungry beings that can be bought with 5k.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Nigerians are disgusting and then they complain about how the country is not moving forward. Even journalist can be bought*vomit*

    ReplyDelete
  118. Honestly, am not surprise at all thatNigerian journalists don't use their initiatives, I have been a situation I had to draft sensible questions for a journalist before because the questions she came with would have been rubbish and my boss then would have looked at her as unserious. Since that day if u introduce yourself as a journalist I deal with u with levity. Also I don't think this journalist opinion of BRF is right. TB Joshua is seen as a man of God and the way people around here reference men of God is such that no one dare speak against them. So BRF was trying to be careful to avoid unnecessary controversy. am sure of one thing, justice will be done on the part of Government.

    ReplyDelete
  119. OMG, This is insane, imagine. I am looking forward to when my people will be freed from this religion slavery and stop following any pastor/imam like goats. look at the highest level of wickedness exhibited by the supposed man of God to his followers. There is God oooo

You can see clearly that the end of the road has come for all these good for nothing men of devils as God is exposing them. why will he have to connive with journalists to alter the news about the collapsed building not minding how the families of the victims feel? Our first enemy in Nigeria are these pastors/imams followed by our politicians. they are partners in crime.so dubious and wicked....

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  135. I have listened to d tape....I didn't see any unusual thing done by TB Joshua...giving Journalists money to buy fuel after press interview is not unusual...he never told them not to write on d dead....ge said as a man of God he does not lay emphasis on death....remember dis man is not vvery learned like d journalists interviewing him...he may not have handled press conference very well but thre is nothing to suggest he was bribing journalists or telling them wat to write.....this is sensational news reporting dat is misleading

I've been wondering why investigations into the cause of the collapsed building has been so slow. Lives have been lost and bereaved families are waiting for answers. Governor Fashola made a wrong move by not addressing journalists at the site after his visit. We are still waiting to see how this episode will be handled. PS: Am also shocked at this journalist's "ability" to write proper English.

  151. Nothing explosive about the press conference, you don't talk about the dead . Plz nuttin special, even without the collapsed of the building the man do give money away. Personally I see nothing wrong. Lets wait for the out come of the causes.

  154. I listened attentively to the audio and I really can't find anything wrong with what he said or given them logistics money for tp/ fuel etc. He can't be indicted or found wanting at all, where he asked them of what they intend writing was just like an all round joke towards the end that even had everyone laughing. There was no specific directives given to the journalists to arm twist them to write otherwise. Nicholas ibekwe please park well.

  177. Well, he's equally a terrible journalist. Not in morals but in grammar. I don't know how someone that can't even write grammatically correct English can be referred to as a journalist.
