3rd American Ebola patient arrives U.S for treatment

The third American doctor to be diagnosed with the Ebola virus arrived Nebraska about an hour to begin his treatment. Dr Richard Sacra (pictured above) contracted the deadly virus while working in Liberia. Dr Sacra wasn't treating Ebola patients when he was infected.

He was today flown to the Nebraska Medical Center's biocontainment patient care unit, one of the four facilities in America designed specifically to treat patients exposed to extremely dangerous infectious organisms.

Two other Americans were recently treated of the deadly virus using the experimental drug, ZMapp.

  4. Are the authorities certain about how the disease is transmitted? This doc wasn't treating known ebola patients but still contracted it. It's more contagious than they're letting on.

  6. Now you see why they feel motivated to work, even in the face of difficulties and risks like Ebola. Because they have a government that care.

  11. I thought Zmapp was not enough and not sure if it cures? Hmmm...God is watching in 3D

  12. And he would definitely get cured. Isn't it funny? White non-religious people keep getting saved, and over-religious people of Africa keep dying like fowl.

  23. 'Dr Sacra wasn't treating Ebola patients when he was infected.'... MY DEAR, EVEN THE AIR IN LIBERIA IS INFECTED WITH EBOLA. U CAN EVEN CONTRACT IT IN YOUR SLEEP..JUST KEEP AWAY FROM THE COUNTRY.

BUT I GBADU AMERICANS SHA, THEM TOO DEY TRY. THIS IS A HIGH LEVEL OF COMMITMENT AND VOLUNTEERISM...THAT UR FELLOW COLLEAGUES CONTRACTED THE VIRUS AND U STILL STAYED BACK TREATING LIBERIANS? UR FELLOW JOURNALISTS BEHEADED BY ISIS AND NEW ONES STILL GO? GOD BLESS YOU AMERICANS, THIS IS TRUE HUMANISM.

  24. Just watch now, the ZMapp drug that they claim is finished will suddenly materialize from no where to be used on this guy.
I swear these oyinbo peopple are wicked. The US can afford to spend over $2bn to eradicate Ghaddafi but they cannot spend $1m to eradicate Ebola.

  26. Zmapp may or may not work but I think the advantage Americans have is resources that allow them to keep the infected hydrated and their units are disinfected and air is purified to avoid other infections. I strongly believe that if the isolation units we havein Africa were equally equipped, there would be a much higher survival rate.
