Pope Francis: I could quit like Benedict or even die by 2017

Pope Francis has suggested that he might one day resign the papacy like his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI did last year, which would make him the second consecutive Pope to do so after almost 600 years. He said this yesterday Aug. 18th while speaking with reporters on his way back to Rome after his state visit to South Korea.
"Some theologians may say this is not right, but I think this way. Let us think about what [Benedict XVI] said, "I have gotten old, I do not have the strength", it was a beautiful gesture of nobility, of humility and courage. But you could say to me, if you at some time felt you could not go forward, I would do the same."
Asked about his immense popularity, the Pope, 77, joked that he would probably die in the next 2/3 years so should not get too proud:
“I know this will last a short time, two or three years, and then to the house of the Father.” he said

    1. You are right but that is if he is a born again christain because that's the only way to heaven because some one can not go to heaven because he is a Pope, Bishop, Rev, Priest, Postor just mention any tittle you can think of. You must be born again. Our Lord Jesus said in John 3 vs 3 verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. So when any of us talks about heaven, a most question to answer then is are my a born again ? This is where are journey to heaven starts is not by our tittle or position in the church because bible said with out that you won't even see the kingdom of God talk more of entering in to it.

    2. And who told u he s not born again? Mtcheeew

    3. So madam Julie best the robber that went to heaven was born again right? Sit there and be deceiving yourself. If you believe that Jesus died for your sins and that God is the father, you are born again and to top it all, you keep Gods commandments. So saying is he born again is really stupid.

  16. LILI PLS STOP READING MEANINGLESS-MEANING INTO EVERYTHING ONE SAYS. OF COURSE PAPAL KNOWS THAT HE CAN'T BE ON THAT SEAT FOREVER,WE ALL KNOW THAT LIFE DOES NOT END HERE ON EARTH. THAT DOESN'T TOTALLY IMPLY THAT HE WILL QUIT;IT COULD BE DEATH,SICKNESS ETC.ONLY GOD KNOWS.

And what's the essence of occupying a seat when one can't meet up to the responsibilities that come with it due to health issues. #GodBlessYouPapal
