Police officer who shot and killed unarmed teen in Missouri finally named

The police officer who shot and killed black teenager Michael Brown on a street in Ferguson, St. Louis last Saturday August 9th has been named. His name is Darren Wilson and he's supposedly 'torn up' over the shooting. They are yet to release a pic of what the officer looks like.

Darren Wilson is said to be a six-year veteran of the Ferguson Police Department and has no history of disciplinary action. The police claim the officer was treated for injuries after the shooting. Officer Wilson claims Michael attacked him and struggled with him over his gun during the altercation.

The Ferguson police chief in a press briefing today gave a timeline of the minutes leading up to the shooting on Saturday afternoon.
"At 11.48am, Officer Wilson was at an unrelated ‘sick call’ with an ambulance. At 11.51am, a 911 call came in reporting a 'strong-armed' robbery at a convenience store, which included a description of two suspects." Continue...
At 12.01pm, Officer Wilson made contact with Michael Brown who was walking with a friend.
A second officer arrived on scene immediately following the shooting. At 12.05pm, a supervisor arrived.
Chief Jackson said the ambulance that had been on the sick call responded to the shooting and provided medical assistance to Mr Brown - who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have said 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot dead after Officer Wilson encountered him and another man on the street.
Police claim one of the men pushed the officer into his squad car, then physically assaulted him in the vehicle and struggled with the officer over the officer's weapon.
At least one shot was fired inside the car. The struggle then spilled onto the street, where Brown was shot multiple times.
Witnesses have said the officer fired on Brown as he tried to run away.
18 year-old Michael had been due to start classes at Vatterott College this past Monday, two days before he was killed. Michael was walking, unarmed, from a convenience store with another man to his grandmother's apartment in Ferguson, when the police man confronted them.

  9. The boy allegedly robbed a store which led to the incident.....but then the cop used excessive force on the suspect. And I believe justice shld still be served.... People need to stop seeing this case as a race case tho but rather a case of cops and excessive use of force. In which every American shld be concerned about

  12. It doesn't matter if he is torn up or not, that doesn't change the fact that, he killed a black man!!! Now we have another killer cop, are they trying to erase the black race or what??!! What a tragedy!!! Whizman

  18. I don't believe Michael Brown tried to reach for the officer's gun. Why would he? The police over-reacted, If it was a white girl nothing would have happened, but let a black man scratch his nose in front of US cops and they shoot.

I'm glad UK police don't have guns.

  19. This is so different from eye witness reports and new reportage! I heard that the kid stole a cigarette too! I smell a cover up! Twitter has being spilling a lot of information about this case, so much so that what this officer said just doesn't rhyme

Twitter has being spilling a lot of information about this case, so much so that what this officer said just doesn't rhyme. And why did it take so long to identify the cop?!!!

  22. all police lies. Boy was on his way to visit grandma. Grandma even drove past him on her way home but he preferred to walk. Within mins of granda driving past him, he was dead. we have videos. robbery? assault? Boy had his hands up in the air when he was shot. hands up in the air, unmoving, unarmed, and wondering what the officer was going on about. still hands up in the air, officer shot him once, came closer, shot him again. the video we put up has been removed. we still have it but now fear for our own safety.

    1. Thank you very much anon9:13pm. I heard a different story too when it first happened and all of a sudden the police changed all the details. Please send your videos to people in Africa and other foreign countries for them to post where the crooked police can't come to harass or kill them for sharing and exposing the truth to the world.

  23. Don't forget that Michael just robbed a convnience store shortly before he was killed in the course of struggling with a police man! So he wasn't a saint. *anya_o2003@yahoo.com*

  26. It is a race case because this level of brutality is applied on black men over and over again. You'd be singing a different tune if he were your son. Oh, even if he committed a crime before the incident, he should have been allowed due process. The police are not granted the power to be judge, jury and executioner in America.
