Photos: GEJ leads other dignitaries to late Prof. Akunyili's Requiem Mass

Here are photos from the Requiem Mass at Pro-Cathedral Catholic Church, Garki Abuja held in honor of late Prof Dora Akunyili this morning. President Jonathan, Dame Patience Jonathan, many government officials and prominent personalities were in attendance. I screened grabbed from the TV so pardon the quality..:-). See more photos after the cut...

  9. They shld allow are remain to rest and in peace. All this are medicine after death. If a man has not settled with God before death, believe me there's no remedy. Because judgment had been made already. Don't me twisted here am not saying she's has not giving her life nor she had. That's between her self and God. They should jst let her remain be and stop flying her around like she will get up from the casket.

  33. @Tobi Paul - you are very ignorant of the ways of God and also very narrow minded of what funeral prayers are all about.

Many of the so called Bible-Christians, who do not even know the origin of the Bible and Christianity conclude that there is no need to pray for the soul of the departed. Note the word 'departed', anyone who dies in Christ is not dead. In the eyes of God all men are alive. The prayers offered are for commending the soul to a merciful judgement... God alone knows the real state of everyone who dies. It is not whether the person was good or bad. Only God can judge and that is why appealing to His mercies which is beyond our understanding is what a funeral prayer is about. Go find the authentic Bible and read, not the incomplete and mus-translated and paraphrased versions flying around - Ehison
