Photo: Nigerian women & children take refuge in Chad Desert Island

Photo above shows Nigerian women and children currently taking refuge in the Chadian Island of Choua, a desert land that is in no way habitable. The women and children ran to the Chad island after numerous attacks on their village, Kolikolia in Borno State by the Boko Haram sect.
According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Ariane Rummery, the Chad Government has signified interest in moving the women and children to a habitable village where they can settle and get minimal comfort.

  12. Well, the north created this issue. They should find a home made solution for it. Just like Anambra State govt. did during the Aguleri-Umuleri conflict.

  21. What a shame. Nigeria cannot even take care of its own. This is a national disgrace. But then being nigeria shame has no meaning in the hands of those in charge or is there?

  22. ...and we have a FG that is committed to fight insurgency? what a pity that the a sitting Government allowed her citizen to take refuge in another country when Nigeria is large enough to contain everyone. How can the Government allowed herself to be blackmailed internationally...after they will say the opposition are at work, meanwhile they are creating the opportunity for this to happen.
