Hospital.

“The Minister of Health Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu has announced that four additional confirmed cases of Ebola Virus Disease who have been managed successfully and are now disease free have been discharged home today. They include two male medical doctors and one female nurse. The three participated in the treatment of the index case while the fourth person was a female patient at the time the index case was on admission. This brings to five the total number of patients diagnosed with Ebola Virus Disease who have now been discharged from hospital.”On Saturday August 16th, the Health Minister announced that the first Nigerian to be diagnosed of EVD, a female doctor, had been discharged after she was treated and certified cured.
The Minister also stated that the total number of cases of the Ebola Virus Disease in Nigeria remained at 12 while the number of deaths from the disease was four and that the number of people under surveillance in Lagos is 189 while in Enugu is 6.

DeleteGod is in control! Read this earlier and I felt a certain wave of calm wash all over me! I've been having ebola induced paranoia and hysteria. You really have to commend the Lagos state government, the doctors that came out to give their time and energy (selflessly) and most of all the Ministry of health! If this thing can be tackled like this, WTF is going on in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea? Is it sheer foolishness?
ReplyDeleteNo its not sheer foolishness, its ur Health minister dat is deceiving U̶̲̥̅̊, how come dey didn't mention names of those that Were cured but Were quick †Φ tell us d names of those infected.

ReplyDeleteGoes to show that you don't need a magic serum for your situation to be different! At the end of the day it pays to be prayerful. I pray it remains at 12 and they all recover fully without any long term health issues (because ebola survivors usually end up with some sort of health issue). Uganda tackled an ebola outbreak in 2012, it was well contained, I'm glad Nigeria can say the same. This is my proudest moment as a Nigerian.

ReplyDeleteGod is soooo good. All the time!
ReplyDeleteWait! Are they cured or just cleared? Anyway thank God for their health.
ReplyDeletePlease these our health officials should stop carrying rumours and distorting information, and kindly stop deceiving NIGERIANS, NOT all of these people under isolation tested positive to Ebola, some of them never caught it and after days of being under surveillance, they released them, so pls be clear when you say they 'discharged ebola patients', they never had it, the nurse that ran to enugu, was it ever confirmed that she had it? NO, so @ Ministry of Health, pls stop playing polictics with the situation, stop the false hype and please stop feeding people *bull*, like we got the magic cure to Ebola and people are getting better, please just stop, we need help because most of the confirmed patients have actually died...
ReplyDeleteLinda pls verify your news before jumping to post, esp sensitive ish like this

Exactly wat came 2 my mind stumbling upon dis news like serzly What's d name of d drugs dat cured dem ??? 2 many questions playing in my head.
DeleteI'm sorry but you two are foolish! If you've done your research well you'd see that a certain number of persons have recovered from ebola in the past and including this recent outbreak without any magic serum! If it's caught on time and supportive therapy is started early, you have high chances if recovering from the disease. Why do you think they said 50-90% of people infected survive! Dr. Writbol that was given the serum, didn't you read where he stated that blood containing antibodies was collected from a 13year old boy that was under his care, who recovered from the disease. So my "dears" people survive if identified on time and God is on their side. I know the Nigerian govt lies to us a lot, but so far, so good CNN reported the same thing, I doubt WHO would let our yeye government deceive the world, they have officials on ground, so does the CDC! Sometimes have faith.
DeleteMy thoughts exactly. Were they actually infected? What drugs did they use? Everything is politics in Nigeria, even with this ebola issue. Its every man for himself.
DeleteHaven't u read that there is 10% chance of survival? Virus has no cure, it's only ur immune system that can fight them. When d ebola symptoms are treated and d immune is well boosted it can go. Are u working with ebola patients? How do u know they were not positive? Pls let's appreciate our country for once and stop all d negations.
DeleteDo u work with ebola patients? How do you know that they were never positive? Haven't u read that ur immune system can kill virus if it is well boosted and d symptoms well treated? Pls let's appreciate our country for once and stop all the negations
DeleteExactly, they are trying to form like they've got d cure while the fact remains that those patients never had it
DeleteExactly, they are trying to form like they've got d cure while the fact remains that those patients never had it
DeleteIf it is indeed as it is, I believe it is so. Lord in heaven You are forever worthy.
DeleteAnon 1:09am u r the biggest fool that ever liveth. Jumping to insult without using ur half - formed brain, where in that comment did it say that people don't recover from the virus, bloody retard trying to lecture, that's how u fail exams... be clear, that people recover from ebola is and was never in dispute, but not all these so-called discharged patients in Nigeria actually had it...
DeleteUse your head next time b4 jumping to reply

Tnx 2 God
ReplyDeletePls wat did dey use on dem,ar dey sure dey ar medically ok?
ReplyDeleteSo are they saying they have the cure when it has not be proven that there is one.
ReplyDeleteThe two doctors in US diagnosed with EVD are still on admission and we have already quickly discharged patients confirmed to have the EVD.
I really don't understand what's going on or what to believe anymore
Stop bodering yourself. If you do not know what to believe again, believe the WORD OF GOD that all shall be well. This is the finger of God.

ReplyDeleteHow did they get treated without "experimental drugs"? #conspiracy
ReplyDeleteDidn't one of the family members of an ebola patient mention that the sick people were not receiving any medication?
How come the day that nano silver was rejected by the health agency is the same day that people are being released after being treated and cured. #NieriansShineYourEye
Question is? WHAT ARE THEY CURED WITH?
ReplyDeleteIF ZMAP IS NOT HERE,AND NANOS SILVER didn't meet the requirements?
I AM JUST ASKING.
I want to believe they used "gbogboeshe" or they laid hands on them and prayed.we donot even have facilities to test for ebola.as at the last time I checked, its only 2 places in africa that can test for ebola..... why is d drug shrouded in mystery?come on Minsiter,we are not that gullible..too many lies

Chai, Nigerians will believ anything... Those people weren't cured they simply never had the virus
ReplyDeleteGood news,bt I tot dey say it has no cure,i hope dis pple don't go around spreading d virus cos its still somewhere in their body
ReplyDeleteWhat did they use pls. Zmapp?
ReplyDeletewhy so fast. the zmapp patients are still in isolation. and i read somewhere that ebola usually takes at least 2 months to leace your system. with adverse effects on your body and mind. are they sure these people are really ebola free? shuldnt we watch them to see what happens?
ReplyDelete- damieeee
kudos to the authorities for their handling of the situation.
ReplyDeleteHaving people actually cured of Ebola is a wonderful thing. But please lets not make a fool out of ourselves in front of the whole world! The whole world is cringing because of this Ebola thing, the whole world is crying that there isn't any cure for it. If Nigeria has a cure, would it not be right to share it with the rest of the world? At least we can for once say we are breaking new grounds in this modern age for the whole of humanity, and not just accepting like we accept everything from aid to technology. If on the other hand, one of the experimental drugs has worked, then we should do well by giving a feedback to those concerned and share with our African brothers and sisters the rays of hope we just sighted. The minister of health should please sound more professional in giving out these information. Even the US hasn't declared that the doctors given the first doses of the experimental drugs free from the virus.
ReplyDeleteIt's really disturbing and crazy how people reel out rumours in the name of news! Can someone tell us the exact medication used? The procures! The regimen! And all. How cure able is the VIRUS?( Not bacteria or fungi) Are the 'discharged and cured' patients rid of the virus? Are we (Nigerians) still this frugal minded? ????
ReplyDeleteFucking liars.....who are the dead ones? Who are the free ones? No name no pic nothing. Only and Only in Nigeria!
ReplyDeletecareful with the way you use the word 'cure'. I am sure she tested a false positive and went on to test negative In that case she was never ill and so was never cured. This presumably is another female doctor apart from Adadevoh, who we know recieved Zmapp on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteGood news!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Tank God!my sleepless nits of prayers for dis ppl are not in vein!sure!God still answers prayers
ReplyDeleteIf our govt handled NEPA the way they are handling Ebola,it would have survived.Kudos to dem anyway....
ReplyDeleteTank God!so happy cos all my sleepless nits of prayers for dese ppl ais not in vein..sure!God still answers prayers!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Govt gave them "AGBO" ....herbal concortion. The most important thing is dat they got cured n no......we re not sharing our recipe.Make America keep their Zmapp,we go dey use our own Agbo.Abi una no know say the native name of Ebola na SOPONU.
ReplyDeletena u no were u go c d native name of Ebola I too no
Deletena true. ooo mak dam ask govt well well.
ReplyDeleteThank God there is progress on this Ebola issue
