Footballer dies after being hit in the head by object thrown by fan after match

24 year old Cameroonian striker Albert Ebossé Bodjongo (pictured above) was killed yesterday Aug. 23rd, after being struck in the head by an object thrown from the stands by an angry fan after his team lost 2-1 in a home defeat during an Algerian league game.

Albert and his team mates were leaving the field at the end of a match between his club JS Kabylie and USM Alger in Tizi Ouzou, when an angry fan threw what is believed to be a rock.

Albert, who had scored the sole JSK goal, died a few hours later in the hospital. He was 24. Continue.

His club, JS Kabylie, published a statement yesterday on its website saying his death will be investigated.
'The Ministry of Interior and Local Government, speaking through minister Tayeb Belaiz, has given an instruction to open an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Albert Ebosse." The statement read
Kabylie captain Ali Rial told reporters that Albert died in his arms as he accompanied him to the hospital in the ambulance.
"I'm depressed, it's real drama and I do not know if I'll get over it. He died in my arms, I still cannot believe we have lost him forever. He was a good man, God rest his soul."
So sad! May his soul rest in peace...amen.

  15. Soccer is a dangerous sport for black men. The fans are attacking them with racial abuse outside of Africa and now we have a murder openly committed on the pitch in CAM. The life of the white players is never this complicated. They suit up and play ball while the black man has to deflect unexpected blows from every corner.

Couldn't comment on the post about the evil woman that made her help sit on a hot plate. Linda don't hesitate to post her name and picture. Jungle justice is needed to teach her a lesson she won't forget all her miserable life. Those still doing/thinking of maltreating other ppl's kids will have to think again!.. Does evil and wickedness ever take a nap!
*I'm really fuming over this act*..wish I can also have a turn of giving her a taste of what she dished out.

  36. Tha killer fan should be found, taken to court and charged for killing a player. Very sad event and may he rest peacefully.

Algeria wants to hold the next Nations Cup. This doesn't bode well when people can get a rock into the stadium.

  60. Something has to be done about this nonsense in football. When they aren't throwing bananas and such, it's rocks and bottles. They need to start giving penalties to teams whose fans don't act right or something...I don't know. What do you tell his family? He went to play a game of football and someone with no common sense killed him for no other reason than they were angry at the outcome of a game. I don't know how they will figure out who threw it or what to do about these things in future, but his death should not just go for nothing like that. Just sad.

  61. This is indeed sad! What kinda object did the fan throw? Hard enough to kill a man? I pray that fan finds no peace until he/she is arrested#Am so sad
