Ebola outbreak may have started with 2 year old boy in Guinea

The largest outbreak of Ebola in history was likely started by a 2 year old boy in a remote village in Guinea according to researchers. The boy, called Patient Zero in this outbreak, died on December 6th 2013 after suffering from fever, black stool & vomiting. That illness has now been found to be Ebola

Before he died, he infected his mother, his 3 year old sister, his grandmother and a mid wife who was caring for him when he was ill. His mum and sister died before the end of December 2013 after suffering bleeding symptoms. His grandmother died January 1st. The mid-wife died by February 11th but before dying, she had passed the virus to her family members who died the following month in March 2014. Continue...

The virus spread from the Southern Guinea village to other parts of Africa after villagers from Sierre Leone and Liberia, who share a border with the village, attended the grandmother's burial. Two of the funeral attendees fell ill and the virus spread from their families to their villages and to health care workers and family members taking care of patients. And one Patrick Sawyer brought it to Nigeria!

How the child became infected is a biggest mystery as scientist who have traced the the outbreak this time say they don't know how the toddler got infected.

So far, 960 people have died from the virus while 1,779 people have been infected...

  14. This is indeed a mystery...perhaps a FRUIT BAT bit the toddler or he picked up an infected bush meat on the floor and eat. Anyway, just saying. But we know that Patrick Sawyer brought it to Nigeria...what a pity for those infected.
All hands must be on deck to contain this deadly virus

  25. Ebola Virus and the way forward for Africa by Vincent Edward vincentedward@ieee.org

I am extremely surprise that most of my country fellows only got to know about the dreaded virus after a positive diagnosis was made on our home soil.

Ebola virus, Anthrax , smallpox , though deadly were leveraged upon in various laboratories scattered outside the shores of Africa to synthesis most of the existing biological warfare capabilities in existence today.

The weaponization of these viruses or agents led to the emergence of the various antidotes (eg the so called secret serum ) which is one out of numerous antidotes scattered across top European, middle east and Asia laboratories.

If the USA can swiftly come to the rescue of two of her citizens and the Spanish did likewise.....then Africa is on her own...Mind you there are other nations like france, the UK.. all silent on a solution....The World health organisation no doubt is powerless.

Most of the developed nations are more scared of the antidotes getting into the wardrobe of their rivals that even the virus its self.

There's a school of thought that would argue that the antidote or so called secret serum have not been clinically approved. ...yet the only infected US citizens got the treatment. even when the death figures in Africa was climbing ....Please Tell us something NEW!

Some ignorant Nigerians were so gullible to the extend of having their morning bath with Salted water or Brime . Who knows , some may have given salt the place of sugar in their tea...all in the name of sms survival broadcast ...same for the kola nut myth.

The way forward...African leaders have got to realise that it is high time we started to be our own solutions .We need to be brave for our selves .We need to support neighboring African nations. We need to tell the success stories of those that survived the virus after weeks of been ill....Even though most cases of Ebola may end in fatality , we also have survivals who are well and back to their normal lives.

Wickedness and greed in leadership must cease .

Africa should liaise with developing nations like India,Pakistan and the likes of other developing nations , these countries are the reason why medicine remain cheap and sustainable in Africa.

Our nation have got lots of medical experts in europe , saudi arabia etc...Its high time developing nations minimize dependence on the west and their likes.

Using my darling Nation Nigeria as a case study , Our striking medical practictionals dont 've guaranteed life insurance to fight the dreaded virus.

Africa would come out stronger again......Dont discriminate or stigmatise against those infected.

Together , we shall overcome.......Long live Africa.

  27. It is obvious some American travelled to Guinea and re-introduced the virus by probably injecting a 2-year old who cant talk well. Sole purpose is so they can test the efficacy of the ZMapp drug that they've been researching on for decades now. Otherwise how did the virus suddenly resurface 38 years after the first outbreak in 1976 and in Africa again? There's some conspiracy there. Drug company, the Western world all have a hand in it.

  33. AFRICANS LETS ASK THAT AMERICA SHOULD GIVE US THE ZMAPP TEST EBOLA VIRUS CURE !!!!!! _____ I have always said and will continue to say this... Obama is a white at heart and guess what? Whites hate blacks.... Just read now that America gave spain the vaccine to cure a 72yrs old man. This is totally unfair. People are dying in Africa and yet obama claims to be from Africa. He should release that drug. What other option do these people have. Taking that drug will offer them at least 50% of survival. Where are all these 'save africa', 'WHO', etc agencies that promote human rights.... Many will die if nothing is done and done fast. Yes, i'm scared, not just for my life but for any ugly story that might come out... Lets all raise our voices and demand that America do what they preach.... #say NO to racism and YES to Human rights.... Give africa 'ZMAPP' and stop this blood shed

    1. Wait what? You are hilarious. America won't give Africa the cure u can bet on that. BTW that's not racism, they found it they can do what they like with it..its in our place as Africans to care for our own and stop relying on america like they are saviours. Who knows if its america that even invented the 'virus' and injected it into the kid in disguise as a vaccine? Don't believe all u see on media boo. My thoughts.

  35. Because Ebola virus belongs in the family of Filoviridae, it can be destroyed by ozone treatment technologies. In the given case shock infusion, surface & aerial disinfection by highly ozonized water and surface means are recommended. Their operation costs are close to zero.

There are small mobile units available which have been used in many emergency applications having even NATO certification. Among many others, also US Army and Czech Army use ozone treatment technologies. Let me also remind that Dr. Wardburg was awarded by Nobel Prize for his works concerning ozone treatment and nominated even for the 2nd time.

If you are interested in those means I can give you more information and connect you to the right people and suppliers and the treatment can start immediately in African health care facilities of your choice, because those technologes are not new but known for long time and verified by long practical use.
