Boko Haram seizes four towns in Borno and Yobe states

Last week, Boko Haram men took over four towns in Borno and Yobe states after a gun battle with  military men guarding the areas. The four towns they seized are; Gwoza in Borno state and Buni Yadi, Buni Gari and Goniri, all in Gujba local government area of Yobe State.

Not only did they overwhelm the Nigerian soldiers deployed to guard the towns, they also killed at least 100 residents, including the brother of Emir of Gwosa and the chief Imam of Gwoza's major Mosque. Continue...

A top security source told Sahara Reporters that Boko Haram had successfully beaten back three separate columns of Nigerian troops from Gwoza. “The most recent was a team of soldiers led by Lieutenant Colonel Agwu of the former Special Operations Battalion (SOB) now 234 Battalion,” the source said.

Security sources also disclosed that the sect killed or wounded numerous Nigerian soldiers during their initial assault and, days later, in a counter-offensive mounted by the Nigerian Army to try to wrest the town back from the stranglehold of the Islamists.

The militants are now said to be occupying camps abandoned by soldier after they fled from a series of fierce battles Boko Haram.

Boko Haram also bombed Katako Bridge that links Buni Yadi with Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

The Nigerian army are said to be planning to retake the four towns.

  12. This is a clear evidence of the persistence decaying of the Nigeria military as a result of corruption in the high place in Nigeria. This clearly shows that we have no effective army to defend our country should Togo or Benin republic decide to take over Nigeria. How can our military be efficient when all our government think about is elections and how to embezzle money. What a pity? Where is the so called Giant of Africa.

  17. And we still do not want to seek foreign aid! Honestly there comes a time when one just swallows his pride, realize that a situation is bigger than he is and act! We have let this Boko Haram situation fester for too long that they have become stronger than our military and soon they might seek total domination of the country! We can't handle this situation alone, that in itself is clear, our young men are wasted in fighting a fruitless war! God help us all!

  20. I Do HOPE that we are all eye opened from the umbrella of ISLAM this people hide themselves under, there is a very very vast difference between TERRORISTS and MUSLIMS and I do hope that God gives them the special place in hell they deserve for their sacrilegious acts and for painting Muslims with a bad name! These is why these idiots need education as highly recommended by the Prophet and Islam as a religion! If they did they brain would have a better understanding of the Quran rather than hiding their in humane, human wanted wicked needs under the words that support NOTHING they do! They act in accordance to EVERYTHING the Quran FORBIDS and Violate EVERYTHING is asks them to do like their brains are wired backwards Stupid idiots! So what now? first the come with the excuse of No education, something which Highly recommended by The Prophet, then go on to say they are killing christains.. Has Allah given you the right to kill even ants? has he not forbidden taken away what you cannot create? Hasn't the rule of Jihad said you must be attacked first? and you fight only when youre fought? and even in the midst of a war where you are being attacked YOU DO NOT KILL SOMEONE WHO YOU HAVE PERSONAL ISSUES WITH beacuse then your reason for it wouldnt be to protect islam. What threat have the people you are killing imposed on you?! and now what justification do you have for killing muslims? BOKO HARAM HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION WITH ISLAM AND IS NOT A SECT OF ISLAM THEY ARE SIMPLY TERRORIST ABBIDING BY LAWS THEY HAVE CREATED IN THEIR EVIL MINDS! AND THEY WILL BE PUNISHED FOR IT AS WELL AS ALL OTHER TERRORIST GROUPS! NONE OF THEM FIGHT FOR ISLAM OR ALLAH. NONE OF THE ARE MUSLIMS!

  23. if u think that nigerian army is not trying, what stops u from comin out to fight boko haram. Some of u just sleep, then open ur mouth and talk nonsence bcos some pple do not sleep so as to protect u. Thunder fire una mouth. My advice to nigerian army is that, una too much, bt this is not a physical fight. Boko haram uses charms to overpower u guys. So pls, fortify yourselves spiritually bf going up against them. I pray for our army cos i know that good wil always win evil at last.

Blind vats jeep deceiving your selves. Boko haram, al-queda, isis all re from Islam. Yet you tell me it's a religion of peace. Fools, you guys should better repent or better still turn to pagans.

  33. Its either we are talking about Al-qaeda in Pakistan or Al-shabaab in Somalia or Boko haram in Nigeria,Isisi in Iraq, brotherhoods in Egypt. Islamic insurgents or terrorists. Why do they all have links to Islam? the concept of 'Peace' attached to Islam is obviously in theory not in practice. Wtf!
