Armed men attack Monrovia Ebola clinic, 29 patients flee

According to reports, armed men yesterday night attacked an Ebola isolation centre in the densely populated Monrovia suburb of Westpoint, Liberia. 29 patients under quarantine reportedly fled the centre. Some reports say the armed men were residents of the area who looted materials used by quarantine patients.

A witness of the attack, Rebecca Wesseh said "They broke down the doors and looted the place. The patients all fled”

The Head of Health Workers Association of Liberia, George Williams has confirmed the sad incident. But who goes to steal from sick, quarantined people? Are they mentally alright? More details later..

  1. This is so wrong. Stealing from the sick
I wonder if they were fully kitted before entering the quarantine centre.

    2. If you've been following up on this ebola story since it broke out, you'd know that Liberians are the silliest idiots in Africa. They are sooooooo stupid, their foolishness knows no bounds. After them it's the Sierra Leonians. The rate at which they are going, this disease will wipe out more than half of their population. Fooooooolish people!

  4. They're destroying their own community by releasing the patients into the general population. I must admit that I don't understand the Liberian response to this crisis. First they cleared Sawyer for travel and now these crazy people attack a treatment facility. They have shit for brains over there.

  9. People should understand this war is not an easy one. FFK said it and some people didn't realize the gravity of the situation. The sponsors of this Ebola disease are not happy that it is been contained and not spreading as fast as they had hoped. Our people should wake up completely because that is the only way we can break loose from the shackles of the enemy. Our God is Stronger.

  10. What's the meaning of this please? Who steals from the sick and how do they recover all patients who fled the centre? Now they are putting more people at risk. God help us

  12. Shameful, embarrassing. I am now convinced most Africans are no better than animals, ah ah. Thieves go and attack sick patients, probably trying to kill them for fear of them spreading ebola, sick patients flee, and will infect more people...this is a disaster.

  69. Another seeming evidence that this Ebola Virus has more to its origin than bats and monkeys as they make us believe... why will thieves (armed men @ that) go to rob an Ebola treatment centre of of places to rob on earth, when everyone is working at trying to contain it. God will deliver us from "them all".

  82. The Liberian President and Health Minister are to blame for the poor handling of security around the hospital were patients of Ebola virus are being treated. In fact, i want to believe that Liberians are sent to spread this deadly virus to as many countries, because of these 29 patients that have flee the hospital will not remain in Liberia alone but will want to travel out just Sawyerr did that brought the virus to Nigeria. In my opinion, other Africans countries should close their borders with Liberia to avoid helping to spread the virus, until it has been fully contained and eradicated from the country. Linda if u like don't publish my comment, but to convey my thought to our Health Minister, because their poor handling of Sawyerr's case has resulted in the loss of some good Nigerians to this deadly disease.
