Another Liberian reportedly certified with the Ebola Virus In Lagos

Now I have no way of confirming this because I didn't watch it myself but according to CKN who watched the program, a Senior Registrar with Igbobi Orthopaedic hospital, Lagos, Dr Akindele Akintayo revealed this morning on a TV programme that another Liberian have also been detected with the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria.

Dr. Akintayo said on the programme that the Liberian has been kept at the IDH in Lagos and could not confirm if the new case had a contact with late Mr Sawyer or not. More on this later...

Patrick Sawyer coming to Nigeria with the deadly virus has caused the death of five people, including Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, pictured above

    1. I said it a couple of weeks ago on this blog. I'm not sure how true it was but I heard a chartered plane landed in Abuja from Liberia on August 6th and people were cleared and allowed in after taking just their temperatures. Aparently, this was an account of airport employee. They were taking temperatures to test for Ebola and letting Liberians in! Lord help us!

  39. porous borders..... smh
with all out resources and title (giant of africa) we cant even be on top of this like an elephant buh we are experts in begging for the cure and all, dont get me wrong, yeah we should get the cure but since this epidemic started early this year, we (pple in the concerned authoritative positions)have just bn sitting down and relaxing, and being religious about this whole thing, im sure u ve heard pple say 'it is not our portion IJN' or the likes, sure.... but wisdom is profitable to direct!
what differentiates our brains from the brains in the US, is it money we dont ve??? If we have started working on a way foward (ie containment and OR cure)we would ve invested more into this direction, not just when there was an outbreak in our country, now you hear, this one donating X million and that one donating Y million, if this monies were put into proper use, in form of research in top universities, and even top pharmaceutical firms, in short even if we import scientist for this, and we ve spent a year on it, im sure we would not be where we are today,
tomorrow we would hear that a young scientist student in nigeria has come up with a possible cure, without funding from the Govt, just with limited resources, then you would see, the US wld come whisk the chap off #AUTOGREENCARD to continue work in their country, and later some pple would be bad mouthing the chap, as to why he dint stay in this country and work on it.... with out help?!
we need to do more, even cameroun.... lemi say "common" cameroun ve banned flights from 9ja, buh some educated pple are waiting to bath with salt..... lol
lets not have the begging mentality as the only option we fall back to, we are brilliant (na we go school pass), and we have money (well the country has money), if help comes, fine! but while we are waiting for help, lets utilize the best resource God has given us.... out BRAIN!!!

  53. Liberians are on a deadly mission to spread this virus in Nigeria. Saying that they have found the 17ppl that escaped quarantine in liberia over the wknd might be all lies! Sm of them must have been sent to Nigeria to infect ppl, who knows. Goodluck, pls wise up and seal our borders with them. The US embassy saying that borders shouldn't be sealed cos of Ebola wants it to spread as well. Small Cameroun have closed theirs, why nt Nigeria? If u don't do anything abt the borders being sealed, the next target might be ur family and not the poor masses Mr President.

    ReplyDelete
  54. i hope this is untrue otherwise thos Gov should be held responsible for the death of the nigerian victims.

your blog is too important to be putting unverified news especially with the fear people have of Ebola.

Please be responsible and verify all stories relating to this from authorities before you put it up. or at least ask them first.

    You sef play your role.
