Photos: Japheth Omojuwa proposes to his girlfriend

Popular Nigerian blogger and political commentator, Japheth Omojuwa proposed to his girlfriend Damilola last night at a private dinner in Abuja with some of their close friends in attendance. He did so with an 18K white gold with diamonds and sapphires from Rebecca Noff.

Omojuwa and Dami, who recently graduated Masters in International Business Management in the UK, have been close friends for 8 years and only started dating recently. Congrats to them. See more pics from the proposal after the cut...

The guy, on his own, can't afford the ring.

  34. Congratulations Omojuwa! Trust people to find something wrong in these pictures. Nigerians will always talk. What's wrong in him giving a shout out to the Nigerian brand that made his ring? A lot of people have been tweeting at the ring maker for their own proposal ring. Omojuwa, in his usual way, found a way to help another person's business by crediting her product. You bet Rebecca Noff is not complaining so losers can shut it.

Keep moving forward Omojuwa. Your haters will choke on your greatness or bow at your feet.

  72. It's funny how Nigerians never appreciate their own. Bloggers, especially the popular ones, are not your average member of the masses, they are rich. The company I work with got Omojuwa to help with a one month promotion on Twitter last year, we paid him N1 million. How many of you earn that in a year let alone in a month, not to mention he regularly uses MTN in his Sports tweets and you can bet it is not for free. These Bloggers will keep making money while the rest of you us will be watching thinking blogging is nothing. If you were Omojuwa, would you be collecting money from broke ass Elrufai or would you align with the obviously rich Federal Government? Sometimes all some people need to do is shed their hatred and it will not be so hard to see things clearly. Omojuwa, like most popular popular bloggers should not find what looks like a $4k to $5k ring to buy. It will probably cost him one campaign on Twitter or an advert space on his blog. I wish the couple well. Not everyday fight for Nigeria, sometimes fall in Love hehehehe
